Take one massive waterpark. Throw in a stack of knuckle-whiteners. Sprinkle with a couple of relaxing rides. And voilà – you’ve got the Aqua Nevis Clubhotel.
Set over 24,000 square metres, the brilliant Aqua Nevis Clubhotel has waterslides that range from pulse-racers – stand up Kamikaze and Twister – to more sedate affairs, like the Crazy River.
You’re within walking distance of the town centre and beach, but the hotel puts on a free shuttle bus to zip you there even quicker.

Alongside family-friendly numbers such as the lazy river and wave pool, smaller visitors are looked after here too. Adventure Island is packed with mini slides and water sprays just for the little ones, and the pool is nice and shallow for splashing around. Bigger slides like the Boomerango half-pipe and the speedy multi-lane chutes are on hand for thrillseekers to enjoy as well.
Just so you know, the waterpark is also open to the public, and food and drink at the restaurant come at a charge. And just to make you aware, some of the slides may be too big for younger visitors.
- There is a height restriction of 130cm for the larger slides

Bit of a delayed review but here goes! Visited 18 aug for 2 weeks, didnt know what to expect after reading reviews but all I can say is, go, enjoy and make own opinion. Arrived late, checked in very quick and easy, must say though think the cost of safe is a bit steep (£35 for 2 weeks)! Anyway decided to have few drinks in reception bar before goin upto room, plenty of choice and friendly bar staff! Eventually upto room and we were 5th floor overlooking pool! Room immaculate and cleaned everyday with fresh towels! Only thing i would say is mini bar should be free, maybe just have water and beer. Waterpark is fantastic and we spent nearly every morning there, plenty of slides, pools etc. Towels can be collected from the spa and returned on a daily basis if wanted. Food delicious always plenty of choice including cooking stations at the back. Yes it does get repetative but doesnt every all inclusive. Snacks available round pool which is of limited variety but hey its only a snack. Sports bar showed what ever football matches you wanted so this pleased my husband. Kids club amazing, thanks to the girls who made my sons holiday just perfect, he particularly enjoyed the chocolate party! Massive thank you for his leaving gift aswell. Hotel offers free bus to sunny beach on the hour every hour (except a little break over lunch) this was fantastic although can walk it in about 10 mins, yes area around hotel is a warehouse but we never had any problems. First choice reps chris and karina fantasic, couldnt do enough for you and very informative. One day was rain so hotel kindly put on a few buses to the indoor shopping centre about an hour away, this filled in the afternoon as if it rains there isnt alot to do! One trip that is a must was the jeep safari, worth every penny and so much fun! Wont say too much as will spoil it just make sure you take a water gun 😉 Also recommend a visit to nessebar, beautiful place and the Eco Bar by Michael is definatly worth a visit. We used the free bus to sunny beach then where the bus drops you, you get a one to nessebar, costs about 60p pp and takes about 20 mins, cant miss your stop as its where the bus terminates. All in all this holiday was fantastic, my son is asking to go back! More
Overall not bad. A few things to note though. Positive. If you have very young children good. Lots of family themed fun. Burgers hotdogs etc available at the pool bar. Could improve Staff overall are definitely not customer focused. No horror stories but a typical Eastern European gruff welcome from staff which is an area I really think they could improve on. A simple smile would be nice. Room we booked is the apartments. We are in 345. On the night arriving the signs to rooms only go to 343. Lol. We had to wander round a bit and realised they had simply made a mistake and we were even joined by those in 245 looking for their room so a common theme I think. The apartment rooms are huge and ac good. The useful storage is not great. There are spots they could have filled with storage and workman ship is shoddy in parts. Also the main room wardrobe is directly behind the door so not a great layout. Mirror in wrong place directly behind tv. Not great execution of what could be a perfect room. Overall though quite happy. Water park Good points Great water park to be honest. Quite big and the rides are great. Areas to improve on Lots of sharp tiles and two of our group have been to the medical centre with bad cuts over two days. There are nowhere near enough double inflatables for the rides and people have a tendency to hold onto them even though they aren't using them. Staff again really can't be bothered for the most part. If they just grew a pair and gathered the unused ones things would be better. Medical The nurse could have been on a comedy stretch. She came out of the medical centre and spat on the floor at one point. Lol. When providing medical assistance it was laughable and aggressive care in my books. I'm a first aider and my other half is a pharmacist by trade and we were pretty much jaw droppingly amazed at her level of care. So much for the caring profession. Food. Stacks of it. I would give it a solid 4 out of 10. Plenty of variety. My advice is to avoid the pool side burgers. Not convinced there is any actual meat in there. Drinks. Pretty much the standard all inclusive so no complaints. Thumbs up. Sports bar I think this is a great addition to the hotel. It means you can avoid the kids entertainment Kids entertainment The kids loved the evening. It was good to see and for the while holiday I doubt there is an unhappy child, happy kids means happy parents Would I come again? To be honest no. Why? Poor staff attitude and health and safety is lacking. Also food was not a wow factor. Price was awesome though so I do feel we got good value for money. More
Fab family holiday
I really don't understand the negative reviews of this hotel. Maybe I just have lower expectations lol! We arrived 10ish on a Friday evening, the rooms were spacious and very clean and a snack of fruit, croissant and water left out in the room. We dumped our bags and went straight out to the sports bar to watch the international football. The sports bar and particularly Todd, the barman is one of the best assets to the hotel, friendly informative and made great drinks, also fab with all the kids, my children were sad to say goodbye! The football court was a great addition as it meant my boys pretty much ran around all night playing football whilst we could watch them and enjoy fabulous AI cocktails. Todd run off his feet, he needs a pay rise 😊 Water park, yes a bit cold but we soon got used to it and without this excellent addition the hotel wouldn't have so much to offer. Great selection of slides and staff made you feel very safe (I've been to water parks in turkey and seen people coming off slides with bloody noses!) Safety here paramount. Well kept no broken tiles. How someone can moan you have to walk 10 minutes to get back to the hotel for AI food and drink I don't know because it's literally through a gate next to the hotel entrance! Pool bar and snacks also good, loved the pizza. Bar staff, particularly a young lady whose name I didn't get was so sweet and friendly. Slushies also included which my kids loved! I thought the food was great. Always a good choice of meat/veg etc. Good quality meat too not like the crap I've been served AI in Egypt. Desserts good, some nights better than others. Didn't find restaurant staff particularly friendly but that didn't bother me. I am not a fussy eater and was often eating 3 courses 🐷my family are pretty fussy but always came away full up and satisfied. Tables not always set if you arrive later but only happened once or twice and it didn't bother me. This is definitely a family destination, I wouldn't visit if I didn't have children as there are a lot of kids. (Some more polite than others!) Sunny beach is ok, shame there are so many parasols so you can't appreciate how it looks but one of the days we went the waves were massive and the kids loved jumping in them. Hotel is not set in the best location but this wasn't a problem for us, easy 10 minute walk to beach. I would 100% return here and would recommend to any families with kids 5+. More
Poor Customer Service and Food Standards/Hygeine
The room was spacious and clean, the waterpark (not part of the hotel) was very good, enough for a few days of fun. The majority of hotel staff struggled to be pleasant, a small number clearly not happy to even be there. The hotel is located next to warehouses and a supermarket on the edge of town, not a nice area or walk to the beach at all. The food was of very poor quality and variety as we struggled to find something we could eat at every sitting. By the middle of the week holiday my daughter asked if we could stop going to the restaurant it was that bad. On two occasions I chose chicken that was not cooked sufficiently. The kitchen/restaurant hygiene meant that both myself but more especially my wife was very sick and bed ridden for 24 hours during the middle of the holiday. It was a long anticipated holiday that failed to deliver on many levels and we wish we had never been, a costly mistake!!More
Poor Holiay experience with First Choice
Dear sir, I would like to complain about the worst ever experience I have had with First choice/ Thomson. We have been on several all inclusive packages with Thomson/First Choice to Kos, Hurgada, Antalya but never had any issues. Our trip to Bulgaria( aqua nevis clubhotel) was marred with food poisoning. All 4 of us fell ill during the 1 week we stayed in the hotel. We had vomiting and diarrhoea. There was issues at the hotel with cross infection/ contamination as there were several guests with kids who were also ill at the same time. whats worse is the reception staff were too keen to try and get the inhouse doctor to see you rather than actually ask about the well being of the person. I am of medical profession and hence always carry all sorts of medication with me and hence I did not need to see the Doctor. However, whats worse is when my youngest son threw up in the bed and I called rooms ervice, they came and simply changed the bedding. I showed them that the vomit had gone through the sheets and into the mattress( no mattress protector) and the mattress was wet, they were least bothered in cleaning it and just put the new bedsheets. Luckily we only had one more night and guess what, we definitely did not let our son sleep in that bed. I am gobsmacked at the attitude and the poor cleaning by the room attendant. No wonder there is outbreak in the hotel and they require an onsite doctor to be present at all times. The food is repetitive- poor vegetarian food- I would stay away from this resortMore
