The waterpark here offers up a range of slides for all the family to enjoy. Choose from the Hydro Tube 1400 tunnel slide, The Kamikaze, the multi-lane racer and the mighty Spin Bowl. There are dedicated pools for little ones, too.
Just so you know, there are some age and height restrictions you need to be aware of for the slides here.
Age and height restrictions:
- all slides have a minimum age of 10 years and minimum height of 1.2m.
- the Wave Ride has a minimum age of 12 years and minimum height of 1.2m.
You'll find this place on the second floor of the beachfront building. It serves up Italian favourites for dinner, with panoramic views of the sea. You'll need to book in advance to eat here. The dress code is trousers for men.

Could be so much better
I rate this three and a half, however TripAdvisor does not allow half points so had to go with three, as it's not a four in my opinion. Stayed here as part of a large party to celebrate a number of significant birthdays. Whilst there were many positives, unfortunately the negatives mean I would not return. Rooms Decent sized rooms, we had a family room with sliding partition doors. Sadly the doors have not been sized correctly in room 536 as when closed fully it comes off the runner! We emailed ahead and asked for a room with no view of the power station and sadly we got a perfect view of the power station - the positive though was that the balcony was a sun trap late afternoon! Rooms clean and serviced very well each day. Air con was average and this was the case in the other rooms our families stayed in. Bathrooms a good size - although wife not happy with the hard wired hair dryer as the cord was short. Room has a fridge and kettle and good sized tv. Was happy with the room, despite the view. Food Only did the buffet as travelling with a lively 2.5 yr old, so didn't want to spoil the a la carte experience for others. Food was really good and yes it does have some repetition, but that can be said for a lot of all inclusive hotels. Theme nights were excellent and well thought out - especially Mexican night! Beer and wine is self service from taps - nice touch, same goes for soft drinks. As the school holidays had started it got very busy and restaurant at busy times meant you were tripping over people. Staff were excellent and sorted out tables to meet our family needs - even on one night for 14 of us! Breakfasts were good standard and varied. Lunch very good and snack bar offered an alternative location if you wanted a quick feed. Pools/water park This was the big negative. Rules changes last September mean that under 10's cannot use the slides at the water park. We were advised that this is due to the hotel no longer having the correct insurance. Previously you could sign a disclaimer but this is strictly adhered to and ruined it for my 7.5yr old. Thomson only notified us 2 weeks prior to travel so far too late to change hotel! Pool area is so cramped - if you don't have a bed by 0930hrs then forget it! Pool gets very busy and you are on top of each other. Beach not the best as very uncomfortable due to stones and rocks. Advise you stay at the water park, but get a bed soon as it opens at 1000hrs. Bars Not big enough for the amount of guests - pool bar is a nice location and quieter, as is the wine bar, but limited seats. Main bar is too small and fills quickly. Entertainment area is not well thought out - once seated you can't move about as tables all so close. They have an indoor conference room that could be used better for night time, as it is just used by teens running about playing football inside and a couple of pol tables. This could be we opened up to create more seats. Having said that apart from the dance shows the entertainment was awful - the worst I have ever seen at an all inclusive hotel! Location It is isolated, but on a decent bus route so you can get to Heraklion in 30 minutes. We used the bus regular - the express bus is faster and on a nicer route - can be used for €5 return and this is unlimited travel for a full day. The hotel has lots of wasted space at the main bar and wine bar. One of these would have been ideal for a small park for kids, as nothing for them to do once pools have closed at 6pm. Either that or put more sets and tables out! Staff were lovely and very helpful, especially Nickolas at the wine bar. Very modern and good looking hotel, but sadly would not return, mainly due to the age restrictions at the water park and isolated location.More
Relaxed and revived after a week of being spoiled in the Cretan sunshine by the beach!
Sad to be checking out from here tomorrow after spending a week on all inclusive in early August. Despite almost 30 degree temperatures I never felt too hot with a gentle breeze throughout the hotel, beach and pool area and adequate air con in the bedroom. Our double room (422) on the 3rd floor was modest in size but with plenty of storage space and a balcony with views of the Cretan landscape and pool/sea view to the left. Nice and private and perfect for us. We did request a good room by email as we were celebrating our anniversary and were also treated to a bottle of wine, a fruit basket and lovely note. An example of the lengths all the staff here go to making you feel very welcome. We thoroughly enjoyed all meals. Being real foodies we found a huge variety every day and never got bored. It is possible to eat very healthy with an array of freshly prepared fruit, Greek salad and yoghurt with so many Cretan specialities better than anywhere else we tried on the island. My husband was also able to eat a usual cooked breakfast and lots of different types of freshly baked breads. And there are plenty of hotdogs, icecreams, desserts, pizza and chips available for the kids all day in the snackbar or to go with your local beer, wine and cocktails which all tasted good. Water available all day too. There are activities provided most of the day. I enjoyed aquagym at 11:30 every morning to work off the huge breakfast. We spent most of the day on the beach where the €5 is worth paying for a quieter atmosphere, a parasol for shade and sound of the waves. Plus we were actually nearer to the bar than if we were at the pool. WiFi even works well on the beach! Fresh towels are provided every 2 days. We love swimming in the sea. I was a little disappointed at first that it was rough but ended up really enjoying jumping over the waves. Same as the pool, it is only cold for 10 seconds at the start then lovely and warm. People who complain about it being too cold mustn't swim in the Atlantic! I recommend buying swim shoes for €8 in the shop across the road (which has loads of souvenirs) as there are rocks as you walk in but are gone once water is up to your knees. Even though you wouldn't want to leave the relaxation of the hotel, we wanted to see the island. The Spinalonga tour booked from the shop across the road for €38 plus €8 entry fee is well worth it. They bring you to the lovely town of Agios Nikolaos and a beautiful calm beach to swim on Kolkata island with a barbeque on the boat. It is a very early start with lots of pick ups along the way taking 2 hours by bus. We also rented a Vokswagen Up from the hotel for €45 and drove to Rethymon and Chania with stop offs in Bali beach and Lake Kournas for swimming. All locations are stunning so you really must see! It was recommended to take the old road back passing through traditional villages but this brought us very high up the mountains which was a scary trip! Heraklion by night has a great buzz to it like many popular European cities. We got the bus outside the hotel for €2.50 and a taxi back for €15 so it really is close. Finally, we walked to Amoudara by the beach and by the street taking 20 minutes. It's a nice, quiet tourist orientated town. Thanks to all at Akti Zeus. Keep up the great work. We hope to be back soon! More
A wonderful break made extra special by the faultless staff!
Just back from a beautiful week at this lovely hotel. Agreeing with the positives that others have posted, this hotel delivers in all areas, however what made this hotel extra special for us was the staff, their warm attitude and their consistent attention to detail. Food - great! Loads of choice and classy options as well as a children's buffet. Snack bar of a high standard and self service ice cream and drinks popular with all. Drinks - Great, friendly service, with a special mention to Giannis at the pool bar for unwavering approachability and chat! Strong drinks! Pools - both a good size and sun beds not an issue. Delighted to see the hotel enforce the no reserving at silly hours policy. Great! A little crowded at time, but not a disaster. Rooms: Clean, well kept, slept very well. Thankyou! Staff: The clear winner in the equation and what clearly makes this lovely hotel extra special. Wonderful service and attention to detail ...from the genuine smiles at the reception desk the second we walked in, to the unending effort and approachability of all staff that we both experienced time after time, to the endless efforts of the restaurant staff, most especially Katerina who always had time for a smile and little chat as she worked so hard..... to Dimitra who so kindly allowed us to celebrate a special time in her hotel and helped us mark this with a special delivery to our room. Beautiful! Thank you! Weather: rainy the first day (!) lol but after that cleared a rising temperature reaching a scorching 34 degrees the day we sadly left. Looking forward to returning. MonicaMore

High quality hotel
This hotel has got it right in the vast majority of aspects. To put this review in context, we stayed during the first two weeks of the school Summer holidays so I imagine the hotel was as its busiest. Our family, including children of 11 and 10 had one of the best holidays ever. Like most people reading this I am probably over-dependent on reviews and picked up on a few things that seemed to cause complaints. Power station - absolutely a non-issue. Queues at the bars - maximum it was around a minute. Crowded pools - yes they are but we enjoyed a mix of poolside, beach and water park and this was no problem for us. Evening entertainment - probably the one area I would agree with others that it is not the best. The actual entertainment itself is mixed but its also the roof top area where the entertainment is held that is not really fit for purpose, with restricted views for most of the audience. To be honest it seems like bit of an afterthought and the hotel could look to invest in a proper stage area. However all the basics are delivered extremely well. Nice contemporary rooms, comfortable and clean. Excellent food throughout the day and a generous all inclusive policy. Very friendly and professional staff. We had an issue on arrival as the room type we had booked was not available however it was properly dealt with and we were refunded cash at the hotel for the 2 nights we did not have the upgraded room. We had a swim up room which I thoroughly recommend. Beautifully kept and spotless grounds and gardens. All in all a fantastic stay in an excellent hotel which gives the impression that they are totally on their game and understand the meaning of true hospitality.More

Just so you know, all slides here have a minimum age of 10 years and minimum height of 1.2m, with the exception of the Wave Ride which has a minimum age of 12 years and minimum height of 1.2m. Also, to make you aware, there is a power station located around 300m from the hotel. Whilst this is visible from some rooms and public areas of the hotel, it should not impact your enjoyment of the facilities here.
