Thanks to their convenient location, these pretty apartments give you easy access to the old and new areas of Crete.
The Bellino Apartments are ideally located to give you the full flavour of what Crete has to offer. Head 15 minutes down the road, and you’ll find the bars and clubs of Hersonissos. Walk 15 minutes in the other direction, and you’ll come to the quieter village of Koutouloufari.
From the outside, the Bellino looks textbook Greek. The grounds are shrouded in bright bougainvillea and the apartments are sugar-cube white. Inside, the apartments are colourful and cosy, and each one comes with a balcony or terrace and a kitchenette for home cooking.

Loved it! See you again soon!
We didn't look at any reviews prior to going to Bellino apartments and so had no particular expectations. However from the moment we arrived the staff and Manager couldn't do enough for us, in fact one of the staff came and picked us up in his car (thank you Ilias!!) because our Thomson transfer driver dumped us and our cases at the bottom of the hill and refused to drive up to the apartments. This is being raised as a formal complaint with Thomson. There were initially some cleanliness issues which were raised with management but these were immediately addressed, the Manager (Mr Yiannis) wrote new cleaning schedules for staff which they now follow, he also bought in a professional cleaner to train his staff up. The Manager is very approachable and very hands on, he was constantly pottering around and carrying out minor maintenance jobs and generally putting special touches to the apartments and grounds in order to continuously improve the environment and service provided. He seeks input from customers and listens and responds really well to customer feedback. Ilias and Soulla are both very hard working staff who do a variety of jobs around the apartments and grounds. Whatever they are doing they are always friendly and very helpful. Nothing that we asked for was ever too much trouble they were a pleasure to have around as was Mr Yiannas who was very sweet and kind. He even went to the trouble of buying a new guest a birthday cake with candles and sparklers just to make her day extra special. The apartments are typical Greek style and quite basic but at the same time you have what you need although a toaster in the room and a little more cutlery would have been useful. We paid extra for the air conditioning but it was well worth the money and it was really powerful which was very welcome at night and when returning indoors from the hot sunshine. The front of the building with its garden is very pretty and the pictures on all of the adverts don't do it justice. The pool is really nice and larger than other pools in the area. The pool area is well situated with nothing overlooking it and so you get full benefit of the sun all day wherever you sit. It is surrounded by olive trees which are very pretty and whilst lounging on your sun bed you can see both the sea and the mountains. There definitely needs to be a few more sun beds which I believe the Manager is addressing. There is a pool bar and although in this bar there are a limited variety of drinks you only need ask and the staff will get whatever you would like from the main bar this includes wines, spirits, cocktails and bottled and draft beers, soft drinks, teas and coffee. Snacks and small meals such as club sandwich, omelettes and breakfasts are also served on request (I can highly recommend the fried potatoes which are really delicious) thanks Soulla!!😊 The main bar is traditional and prettily lit. There is a good music system and staff will put on any music videos that customers request. The bar stays open until the customers stop drinking. 😃There is free wifi throughout the complex. The apartments are in a brilliant location (but are in the middle of a hill) so if you suffer with a bad back this may not be suitable) If you turn left when you leave the apartments you walk down to the sea and a large assortment of shops, bars and restaurants. If you turn right and walk up the hill for 5 minutes you come to a beautiful little village filled with traditional restaurants, bars and various little souvenir shops. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday we didn't stop laughing from the moment we arrived, it was welcoming and warm with a Manager and staff team who go out of their way to ensure everyone has a lovely holiday. We made some new friends whilst we were there and will definitely return. Thank you so so much Mr Yiannis, Ilias and Soulla for making our holiday so special... See you soon, Tracy and Natalie (Roberto) 😂 Xx More
Don't be put off!
My husband wrote a lengthy review 3 days before we left the apartments so I thought I would give my views of this place. We stayed for 2 weeks at Bellinos and booked here based on the trip advisor reviews. Fortunately we were given the 'penthouse' which is room 21. This has a huge balcony that goes all around the apartment. The apartment itself is typical Greece and basic however met our needs. The disappointing part of this was that the toilet seat was broken and the kettle was manky, however after we vacated on the last day, the owner replaced both items as they had a Thomsson rep staying in that room. During the 1st week the apartment was not cleaned although clean sheets were put on the bed. The towels provided are no bigger than a tea towel so i would recommend that the owners spend a bit of money and purchase actual bath towels. As mentioned in previous reviews, the main host, Mama Soula, was nowhere to be seen and it seems this was down to personal issues which was clearly affecting Mr Yannis. However with all due respect to the man, he took onboard the complaints made and he addressed the issues with immediate effect. The staff there are new to the apartments and they are lovely and so helpful. I am sure with their commitment and dedication that the standard will improve. The location of the apartments is great. Don't be put off booking this place as I am confident Mr Yannis will ensure that your stay will be as comfortable as it can be. The pool area is lovely however the sunbeds could do with be replaced as they are worn and so low to the ground you may as well lay on floor. Aircon is 49 euros per week, 35 if you stay for 2 weeks and there is a safety deposit box. We met some lovely people during this holiday and the place brightened up when Karri and Ian arrived. The apartments are a great base for your holiday, the rest is what you make it.More
Not the same
For all the people that are due to return to Bellino, you are in for a shock. We booked because of the fantastic reviews. There's no Mama Soula, in fact there's just one very pleasant girl working in the day. Your apt won't be cleaned, you'll have just one towel for the week and your toilet bins won't be emptied. Not a lot of snacks to choose from and a very limited drinks option.I think there will be a lot of disappointed people arriving at Bellino this summer.More
getting better !!
Well, here we are on our last day of 2 weeks. I'm having a cuppa outside while Karyn is packing. (I find it best to keep out of the way !). We, like most other guests had read previous reviews mentioning mama soulla and wondered where she was. It seems that her and Yiannis have sadly separated for now. This seems to have happened very recently, so please think about what this guy is going through. On our first week he seemed to be a bit out of sorts and maybe wasn't quite "on the ball" which seems totally understandable to us now we know that his life has been turned upside down. Also, Soulla the girl that works here now only started the week before we arrived. Things now are much more organised. Yiannis has employed another girl to help Soulla. (She started yesterday). Rooms are being cleaned every day and if you need anything you only need to ask. We had a studio (room 5) which was not huge but was fine for us, and now kept spotlessly clean, and was well enough equipped. This is Greece remember and not Spain ! The pool area is fab and perfect for chilling and sunbathing, although I think a few more sunbeds are required to replace a few broken ones so there's enough to go around. The pool bar on our first week didn't seem to have much choice but as everything else it seems to be much better during our second week. Location of Bellino is absolutely spot on. Go left for 5 minutes and your in hersonissos town/seafront and same distance uphill brings you to Koutoulafari which is where we went every night and is stunning. The Bellino and it's owner have had a major shock very recently but it is now fine so please don't be put off by what it WAS like but enjoy what it is NOW. Will we return ??? Oh yes we will. Yammas !!! Andy and Karyn xxxMore
Dreadful place. Avoid at all costs. Showers wet all the bathroom floor. Will never stay there again. It was only bearable as we had Greek friends who lived up the road. Paid for air conditioning which was useless. The minute e arrived we were asked to pad or everything in cash despite being tired from travelling. The first room we had was dull and dinghy. Thanks to our Greek friends we got moved to the top floor which was bright. Unfortunately this room is not always available.More
