not 5 star food
Just came back last night from this hotel the hotel is stunning spotless staff were excellent to say the least the bar staff round the pool bar was very good Kuala the waitress at the Red Saffron couldn't do enough for you at breakfast time so a big thank you to all the staff However i have to say was in the Aphrodite in Cyprus and the food was very good so we expected the same here ,but we were really disappointed with the food in the main restaurant plenty of lovely salads and sweets but the main courses were not good at all The Tex Mex was good so was the Thai restaurant and the Japanese The Al A Carte again not very good the Stone Grill was Quite good so I would say overall the food has to be improved as this is a 5 star in everything else yes staff hotel cleanliness location the weather was fabulous and the restaurants outside the hotel along the beach was really good so come on up your gameMore

Lovely holiday but need another one to get over it.
Just go back. Best bits. George at the bottom bar made our holiday at night.( ask for his special drink ) Meals to a high standard . The tex mex is the best on the complex. Well presented hotel , clean very friendly staff. Now the issues we had. lifts do not stop at the mail middle floor. So we had to use the stairs. We were in room 9114 . Which was outside the front of the hotel . which was a trek to the pools and facilities. Small plunge pool outside the rooms needed a revamp and wasn't very clean. Fist night I noticed the bed had no centre leg and was dripping in the middle. So I ha to get some stones out the garden to prop it up. We had 3 nights of power cuts but not for long. 1 night with brown water coming out the taps. Meals were very good but not really a big enough selection . We booked 8 months before we went. so I expected to have be put in a better and closer room to the hotel facilities . We made a complaint and the only room offered was further away. even though the hotel wasn't running at full . Be under no illusion this hotel is nice but not 5star rooms are dated and we expected walk in showers not very deep baths . Just the amount of stairs to tackle which you can not avoid we came home worn out. ( That might be because we were placed outside the hotel complex in 9000 block). Crete airport is a joke. No aircon .More
Amazing hotel, amazing food
I stayed here with my boyfriend in September, despite having doubts about how big the hotel looked on the website it doesn't feel overwhelmingly big! In fact was perfect, we stayed in the Adults only sections and had a very relaxing holiday. Our room (with sofa area) was beautiful with an absolutely massive bed and over looked the adults only pool with a view of the beach - I highly recommend staying near the adults only pool as the location was perfect. I read some bad reviews on the restaurants but I can not fault them - quite honestly the people who write a bad review on this hotel don't know a 5* quality. We loved the Greek Tavern, Thai and Tex Mex, there is also the option to dine in 2 restaurants however you have to pay at an extra charge. The buffet catered for everyone!! The hotel was spotlessly clean, very friendly staff and lots of activates. I have stayed in an all inclusive before and found the alcohol to be watered down - not here! Very good quality. I'll only look at Tui Sensatori and Atlantica hotels for my next holiday!More
Relaxing week away
We have just returned from a week away here. We stayed in a family suite with an inland view (room 1118). The suite is huge, one master bedroom, and a living room with 3 sofas that can be made up as beds, a family bathroom with a bath, shower, toilet and 2 hand basins and a separate toilet with sink too. It wasn’t a refurbished room, so it was a little dated but it was very clean. The balcony had the sun in the morning and looked onto other balconies. The food was average but very salty. We ate at the Red Taverna which was good, and the Tex Mex, nothing special. We tried to book into the Thai but after trying for a few days we were unable to secure a reservation on the app so gave up. We preferred the main buffet restaurant, salads were good and lots of choice. The cocktails were ok, but they were premixed and must have had a low alcohol content as I had a few throughout the day but never felt tipsy! My almost 4 year old enjoyed the splash pool, beach (sandy) and we mainly based ourselves around the top family pool. Whilst the pools with exception of the splash pool are salt water, we didn’t find this to be an issue. We also had a photo shoot with Maria (Say Cheeeese) and she took some lovely photos for us. Our flight was at 11.20pm, the hotel was full so we were not able to have a late check out but we were given a courtesy room for 30 mins which was useful. Checking in our luggage at the hotel on departure was great and we paid for the VIP lounge (included fast track through security) at the airport which we’d recommend as airport is small and chaotic. The hotel is clean and spacious, it’s not 5 star but we had a fun and relaxing week away.More
Relaxing hotel and holiday but horrible airport return will never go back to Crete
Certainly agree with other comments defo not the 5 star I had in mind, just as pricey though....staff are mostly great with some of them outstanding we asked for a quiet room away from the noise and got put in 1215 refurbished room plenty of space and draws wardrobe etc whirlpool bath not plumbed in ...would've liked to use but no issue really, aircon was a bit hit and miss sometimes it worked sometimes it didn't when I asked for help I was treated like I was stupid it's quite a walk to reception...no details in the room about phone and had couple of issues with power cutting out in the room again I was treated fairly but like a child ..entry card issue or fuse or power cut sorted quickly I think it's a language issue slightly Food in the main hall fine and varied sometimes not that hot but clean and tidy Tex mex excellent food and service snack bar a bit hit and miss and they are very bossy in there and keep telling u how busy they are !!! Food in the other paying restaurants bit to pricey for us my husband loves steak so we went 1 piece of meat 1 large pepper and 1 mushroom and a handful of cubed spuds €33 mmmmm when he left he was still hungry and we were on the all inclusive deal ...had a steak meal in very expensive sanitori loads of food €28 Overall lots of relaxing, on a crime free and a beautiful island with lovely passionate people We did 3 trips monday springalonga with Veta that was 5 stars only moan I have to add is 2 stops after all that walking and sweating needs to be a shorter day Weds Amazonia park was absolutely brilliant then taken to the same place we had already been to on the Monday ?? Got refunded by Thompson Friday santorini mind blowing beautiful jam packed island very long day very expensive £140 pp but the views the people the food outstanding Entertainment every evening was sometimes very good just singing and dancing though could do with some variety oh there was 1 comedy night where they just take the Micky out of visitors so I heard so we didn't go Airport return is HELL even with Thompson dropped bags at hotel and no support from Thompson in airport and no communication from ground to airplane loads nearly missing their flights most frightening exit to a holiday there was aggressive shouting nearly punch ups from others pushing in....and from what I could make out it's like that all the time ...we got dropped off 2.5hrs before our flight and spent all of it in security queuing making our gate with 5mins before boarding being pushed and shoved in 100 degrees heat SHALL NOT RETURN THompson obs know about airport cause u can check ur bags in at hotel but Thompson offer no help at the airportMore
