After reading reviews about this hotel I was very wary about it. When we arrived we were greeted by snoop the bar man he checked us in to our rooms and ran us through all the things we needed to know about rooms, keys and air con etc. Very clean rooms basic but what do you expect for being in Malia right on the strip, besides we were hardly in our rooms. Bar staff are great big up snoop and Mercini. Popi is a lovely welcoming woman who cooks up some mean food. Safe keys are roughly â¬25per week. air con is roughly â¬55per week. wi-fi is â¬12 for the week. Pool is a good size and very clean, pool bar is very reasonably priced. And the food Popi cooks and prepares is bang on proper hangover cure. We paid for the BBQ the food was amazing and the Greek dancing and plate smashing was really entertaining. Cleaners came in everyday replenishing toilet rolls and changed bedding an towels twice in the week we stayed. If you visit Malia you have to go to help bar during the day there is a lovely woman called popi who works behind the bar she is very kind, caring and really happy she made my holiday amazing. She was like a mother to me and my four other friends. I always give her a tip service with a smile makes all the difference. Can't wait to return to Malia next year to see all of these wonderful staff again AKA my Greek family. High five to SNOOP, MERCINI, POPI, POPI from help bar. And of course the owners for making our holiday exceptionally the best I've had to date. IF YOU DON'T STAY AT ILIOS MALIA YOU ARE MISSING OUT BIG TIME. Thumbs up to all of you for your hard work. Anniversary get away
Stayed here the middle of September and loved it. My husband and I booked here as a cheap getaway for our anniversary just to use as a base but we enjoyed the atmosphere all the staff ( snoop George Maria poppy andreas Andonachi and the owner fortini ) we spent every night nearly at the bar. We did get warned that it was a 18-30 but we where not bothered at all. It's located on the main strip but you couldn't hear the noise in our room ( at the back). The Greek night was the best we have been to all the staff joining in dancing and drinking as it was the end of season and the food was brill and they went out their way for us as I don't eat meat ( picture included). Never had to fight for a sun bed but I'm sure this was to do with it being September. Yes there is a price list if anything is broken so just don't break anything. The location is just off the Main Street to catch the bus. Would we come back defiantly a yes so here's hoping for next year. See you all soon Matt and TracyMore
Overall a good holiday
We have just returned from a weeks stay in Ilios. As we visited in September , it was off peak though so it is probably different in the summer months. It wasnt packed out with people and there was a good mix of ages . Looking at the reviews before we arrived , we were a bit sceptical about the hotel and had our doubts. Once we arrived though, the hotel seemed nice . The room was very basic but that's all we needed. All areas were clean and the room cleaned several times during our stay with bed sheets and towels changed too. The safe was extra â¬25 as was the air con (â¬50 I think)We didn't bother with the air con but did with the safe. I didn't find the extra charges unusual as it has been the same anywhere else foreign we have been in the past few years. The staff were lovely especially Maria and Popi who always had a smile and time for a chat. The pool area is great with two separate pools and plenty of loungers. Location is great as you are right on the strip and have the choice of bars and restaurants. Old town isn't much of a walk either so that is a nice change from the hustle and bustle of the strip. Would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a budget holiday as we had a good experience . Also if you are there for the BBQ ,then we would definitely recommend it as the food was lovely . Atmosphere was great and all the staff were in great spirits with lots of Greek dancing and plate smashing ! Overall we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would definitely come back.More
We love George and Snoop
This was our fourth time to Malia and this has to be the best hotel we have stayed at. We have never really spent much time at the hotel bar when we have been before, always having drinks in our room before heading out to the strip but we were at the hotel bar every night. Snoop who runs the bar is hilariously funny and makes some super strong drinks, has happy hour whenever he wants which means cheap drinks and everyone from the hotel comes down and we made loads of great holiday friends. And the barman George... we love you George! He's funny and made us feel really welcome always takes the time to chat to you and is just a lovely guy. We'll be back next year Ilios! More
