A beachfront setting, five restaurants and three pools are up for grabs at this peaceful, adults-only hotel.
The adults-only Mayor Verde Grand Resort had a makeover for summer 2016. The new deluxe sea view rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows, and come with luxury touches like bathrobes, DVD players and mini-fridges.
Location-wise, the hotel is tucked into a hillside, so you’ve got sea views from almost every vantage point. It's also just a flight of steps downhill to the sandy Aghios Gordios Beach.

Great for beach lovers
This was an add on to a Thomson cruise and all inclusive. We had a 'bungalow' which comprised a large lounge with patio doors onto the balcony and same with bedroom with kingsize bed. Could not fault the accommodation and fridge was appreciated although you are only allowed to store items bought from the hotel in there or they can be confiscated. At first we were concerned that our apartment was at the top of the complex but we found out from another guest that they have eleectric buggies to drive you to key points with telephone boxes to call for pick up (they arrive within minutes). Beach is great with plenty of sunbeds but we were not into sun bathing so prefered to exlore the bars. Disappointed to find the beach ones closed at 4pm. Many things are not made clear when you check in such as the buggies or where the mai restaurant is although you are given a map which is difficult to read/understand. If you wish to eat in one of the a la carte restaurants you have to book 24 hrs in advance but there are no sample menus outside the restaurants to help you decide which to choose. Drinks were fine but service was poor with respect to bar staff who collected empty glasses and walked away without asking if you required any more. If you go in to the bar and order a drink the bar staff happily offer to bring it to you. Many people were ordering two or three rounds at a time to avoid having to go to the bar. Very friendly and polite staff but could do with more signs as to what is where (etc. help yourself to icecream in fridge at end of beach bar). Location is isolate - taxi to Corfu town 35 euros - village a 10 minute walk away. Overall great place for sun worshippers (adults only).More
very good hotel!
Stayed here last year (2016) and can honestly say its amazing! I stayed in the room that had the most amazing sea view, I could even hear the sea sat on the balcony. The room was gorgeous in neutral colours, and cleaned to high standard every day. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was very good. The only one part that is annoying that the guests are booking sunbeds before breakfast and employees do not help to keep the policy going. very nice hotel in general. Good for young people and also for seniors.More
Arrived on the 22 of July. The check-in of the hotel was very smoothy and without any problems. There was said that, because of other guests, the room would be ready at 15:00, but the room was already fit for guests at 12:00! A great service. The room had a wonderful view over the sea. The public area's and pools are very nice and you don't need to get up extra early to reserve a sunbed, because even in the afternoon you can still find empty beds. The sunbeds were one of the best we have ever seen, because of the pillow and head pillows provided for each chair. Although the wooden planks near the Lagoon Pool are very slippery when they get wet, even with table tennis in the full sun. The animation team, Lukas and Betty, were absolutely amazing with big hearts and you feel welcome straight away. They had great and creative activities with darts, table tennis and water volleyball, which I was better in than I thought. New friendships were born, both with animation as with other guests, and I'm grateful for that. Betty and Lukas, I will miss you and thank you very much for all the nice moments and the great time and I wish you good luck and enjoy the rest of the season. The evening entertainment was very nice. Every monday there is Greek Night with Greek Dancers dancing around the stage. Personally I found the 3 tenors from Africa and the Latino band very nice acts which provided a great atmosphere to all people that were present. But if you won't go to the evening entertainment, than you can enjoy a nice cocktail by one of the many bars and enjoy every night a stunning sunset of the sun disappearing in behind the horizon over sea, that isn't the same every day. Besides the main restaurant there is also an option to go to one of the other restaurants (French, Italian and Greek) to eat at once during your stay with an excellent service and great food. Although the rotation between the dishes is a bit to fast to my opinion. The food of all restaurants is very good and varies every day. All things written above make this hotel one of the best, with very nice staff and beautiful Sea and sunsets. I would certainly recommend this hotel to all people reading the review. The staff and in special Lukas and Betty... Thank you so much for the great time and it was very nice meeting you! TomMore
Not ALL inclusive!
We are here right now at this hotel for 14nights. Its a lovely hotel, spotlessly clean, everybody friendly, but we were quite surprised that we have to pay for certain things like beach bar food & certain drinks!!! Also we arrived to an empty fridge! Everywhere we have been at least gives you a couple of cokes/beers in fridge everyday! All we had was a bottle of water, which in 35° heat we should be having 2litres a day each! Not one bottle between us! Even in third world countries we have visited, they give u unlimited BOTTLES of water which u can refill. Yes u can keep going back to the bars to get a tiny cup of water all day, but you shouldnt have to when you pay nearly £4000! Apart from this problem, everything else is lovely. More
We just left this wonderful hotel, after a 6-night stay. I am usually a little bit lazy for writing reviews about places I' ve stayed but this time I won't miss it. It's true that most of clients are of elder age, but you won't feel it if you go with the right group. The panorama was breathtaking wherever you were, the sea was warm and crystal clear. Cant say anything about the pools because we always stayed on the beach, it was awesome. It was spotlessly clean everywhere, in the rooms, public areas, toilets, and this is so important. Impeccable service in the main restaurants and bars, such great professionals. Thanks to the manager of the main restaurants and the bar tenders at the beach bar, they were great. Thanks to the management for such professional and great organization of work, something rare to find nowadays. Food was ok, plenty of choices. Drinks could be a little better, but nothing can lower the score of this great hotel. Good job guys and thanks to everybody that served to us, always with a smile! 😊More
