For a chilled week
We stayed the week before the UK half term (it's an adult only hotel anyway) and there were just 150 guests in the hotel (600 when full) so although the hotel had reduced the staff, the service was very good and no queues. We arrived at midnight and there was self service soup, rolls and sandwiches which were very welcome. There's only one bar so when the entertainment is on you need to move outside if it's warm enough and not raining, or sit in the reception area. The food was very good and there was plenty of choice. Fresh baked bread every day, loads of desserts, plenty of choice of mains and themed evenings. Entertainment included singers, piano playing, Greek dancing, various 1 hour handicraft sessions, friendly table tennis competition, another Norwegian pub game, yoga, casino night (with a poker lesson in the afternoon if you choose). We took the full board option but maybe if you intend having several days out this would not be for you. We enjoyed the beach bar where we usually went in the evening for a change of scenery and we had a meal down there one evening, and had some short walks in the area. Corfu town was 20 mins on the bus which picks up from the hotel and a timetable is available. The funicular may not be the best bet for getting to the beach when the hotel is busy but the stairs are many and very steep so the road is a better option. Having read other reviews we had a lovely room, nothing special but clean and up to date with a short walk to the pool and dining area. The staff were lovely and a special mention for Sophia's professionalism and great sense of humour.More
Smile and relax.....
stayed here for a week at the end of June. It was just what we need and lived up to our expectations and more. The room was clean and the food fantastic. The staff at the hotel are a credit to their company from front of house to the sun bed chaps. We loved it so much we have just bpoked 10 days again in June this year.More
Wonderful stay at this "get away from it all" hotel. The moutainside setting allows loevely views over the Med. We stretched for an all inclusive, private pool room which added to the sense of luxury. If you're being fussy, the food isn't brilliant, but there's plenty of choice (and baklava's always a winner), and I wish I'd had a heads up about the mosquitoes! As per other reports, the staff are excellent. Hope to return - always a measure of a good hotel. If you want a relaxing holiday, this fits the billMore
Amazing staff but not a 5* hotel
Pros: * Staff - super friendly and make you feel very welcome, particularly the Guest Relations Manager and the TUI Entertainment team. * Drinks Package - for those going Half Board, we would definitely recommend upgrading to the Drinks Package. The hotel is the only thing in Ermones so there is nowhere else to get a drink, and you do get a good saving. Cons - this is not a 5* hotel: * Room: - Shower flooded the bathroom every day so had to use all of the towels and get a fresh pair every morning - not environmentally friendly. - Electric tripped numerous times due to kettle (already had been replaced) which was not fit for purpose, luckily we found the fuse box. - Minibar (which we had paid for) was not replenished on several occasions, and neither were the tea and coffee. - Lighting for mirrors was poor, nowhere to get ready on an evening for hair and make-up. Had to ensure bathroom door was kept open so that the bathroom mirror did not steam. - Strong smell of sewage in the bathroom. - Plugs were coming away from the walls. * Hotel: - Very bad lighting on the way down to the beach - one of us tripped and fell down the stairs due to this. - Food was bland and repetitive. - Entertainment ran on a weekly schedule so as we were there for two weeks we got a re-run of the same entertainment. * Location - the hotel is the only thing in Ermones, there are no other places to eat or drink so you are restricted to the hotel on an evening. Would definitely recommend hiring a car and travelling around the island.More
Another fantastic stay here
Returned in September for our second time here as we loved the peaceful and relaxed atmosphere and the fact that the hotel is adult only. We have only stayed in the hotel itself not in any of the hillside rooms as the bar is nearer! The food is fab, with a huge choice for breakfast, lunch and dinner and we always go all inclusive as it's amazing value. The rooms are modern, spacious, and very clean and quiet and we had wine, cake and fruit in our room on arrival. We found all the hotel team to be really friendly and helpful, giving the best service that we have ever had and we have stayed in a lot of hotels! We have booked again to return in May 17 and are looking forward to seeing everyone again.More
