This place is in a really handy spot for the beach. And it comes with a big pool, too.
Backed by Mount Skopos and surrounded by green fields, these whitewashed studios are in a picturesque little spot. And better still, they’re just 5 minutes’ walk from Kalamaki’s beach and centre.
There’s a snack bar here, serving everything from cooked breakfasts to Greek specialities. And for evening meals, there are tavernas just a short walk away.

Another Lovely Holiday at the Ionion Blue
We returned to the Ionion Blue Hotel for the 3rd year in May. We loved the new and improved Rock Salt Restaurant and seating area outside. We ate lunch at the pool bar most days and were served by the lovely Helen. We ate three times at the Rock Salt in the evening, the food is very good especially the Moussaka, Emma and Johnny are doing a good job. When we arrived we were greeted by Gina, who is very friendly and helpful. Lola was our cleaner on the top floor studios and a big thank you to her for keeping our rooms very clean. The other two cleaners Giota and Lira do a good job too on their floors. The Pool and the grounds are looked after very well. We had a good holiday and will be returning in September. The hotel is also in a nice location, a short walk from the main street for shops, bars and restaurants, the beach is 5 minutes walk away. Again a very enjoyable stay. Thomsons need to update their brochure photos, they don't do it justice.More

We have been to this hotel now three years in a row. I have to say how annoyed I am, the hotel has a new female receptionist who was quite abrupt and very clever with me. The TUI rep Jordan was about as much use as a chocolate fire guard. We were not spoken to by any of the staff, who usually speak every year they just didn't want to know. However on the bonus side the maids were absolutely fantastic they spoke had a laugh and gave 100%. We only had Greek news and we asked for it to be sorted four times only to be lied to with the staff and the TUI rep. Next year everything is changing the price per person has gone up and most hotels are going fully inclusive. This hotel is going to be half board, buffet breakfast and room only. They are taking the kitchens out and leaving a small fridge for water and a kettle. Quite a few other guests had problems this year and the staff just didn't want to know, I used to love this hotel and so did other customers but after what's happened most of the regulars will not be returning. So to round it all up I am a very annoyed and disgusted and unhappy.More

Great week away
We booked this trip 6 weeks before, we had not really intended to go abroad this week as we have a holiday booked in August but got a good deal so decided to go for it. I have stayed in the apartments before about 7 years ago so had a good idea what to expect. When we arrived we were allocated the "dream" room which is on the third floor (obvious relief not to get the dreaded room 104/105). The room was a nice size with a comfortable bed, refurbished bathroom which was really nice. It had a fridge, kettle and toaster which was good as we could have some toast and tea for breakfast sitting on the balcony (a few supermarkets nearby). You have to pay for the safe in the room which from memory for the week was €22 and you also have to pay for air conditioning which again from memory for a week would be c€60 so remember to add this onto the money you take with you. Rooms were cleaned daily and were spotless. The pool was nice and actually pretty busy whilst we were there, what we had not realised is that the week we went was English schools half term so a lot more kids than we had anticipated. Generally most of the kids were well behaved but there always has to be at one (in this case 2) children who did not behave particularly well and were actually downright cheeky, my other half was at one stage ready to have words with the father of said cheeky children as one had been particularly rude to him (in front of their father) but to my mind what is the point when we leave we will never see them again, the parents are stuck with them for life and that is punishment enough for me ! we did not eat at the pool bar but it did look nice. Beach is less than 5 minutes away and was lovely the sea was actually quite warm even although it may late May. Couple of minutes walk from the hotel to the main strip where there is a variety of shops, bars and restaurants to suit every taste and budget. Would recommend Tazies for snacks, Crown & Rose Bar at the end of the road, for dinner, Olive Tree, Ambrosia, Zakanthi and Four seasons. I am so glad that we decided to venture back to Greece, probably like a lot of people we were scared off a bit after all of the economic turmoil and migrant issues of recent years but we had a really great time and will return.More

Two complaints the first we upgraded the room and got no facilities I.e. No fridge or toaster. I spoke to the Thomson rep who said well you must have booked on line and that's the problem!! And secondly said well you have two TV's!! I ain't watching them so can I swap for a fridge pls? Thomson know this is a problem and have done nothing about it! Second complaint evening meal in restaurant was overpriced and just awful!! Everything else was just fabulous so the hotel is near the airport very clean and well looked after. The staff were very friendly and the snack bar was pretty good! The beach was nice and close as were all the restaurants, cash machines and shops. Excellent food in all the tavernas we tried and our favourites were two brothers and milos. Zante town was ten Euros each way in a taxi and was a well worthwhile visit. Iguanas on route to beach best breakfast by far!! Overall lovely and didn't let the fridge situation spoil our time but it was a pain! More
Lovely place, lovely people
This hotel was recommended to us by a previous guest and we looked at it last year before booking. We were very impressed then and it only failed in small areas to come up to expectations. The top floor room was spacious and clean (but I don't think it had had a deep clean in the winter!)very comfortable beds and we had self catering facilities - which were a little on the bare side but included a microwave (with no utensils to use it), 2 ringed hob, extractor, electric kettle and toaster. Lola our cleaner was very good and in every day. Towels (some a little tatty) changed twice a week and sheets too. The snack bar and restaurant were very good - lovely staff and great food in the snack bar - restaurant is getting there! Johnnie and Emma are lovely and doing a great job! Lovely pool area (only 1 day when shortage of sun beds) and there is a play park for the little ones. The public areas and gardens are beautifully kept. Only a short walk up to the strip where there are lots of nice restaurants - which aren't too expensive. All in all a lovely relaxing, peaceful holiday but I would point out that this is not a suitable hotel for young singles - couples and families are better suited. No noise at night in the hotel but some noise did carry from the strip but was easily ignored. Considering it for next year but may not be self catering (this is I think why the rooms were not deep cleaned - they have been concentrating on converting to superior rooms for bed and breakfast and half board next year) but the food is so reasonably priced that it may be worth looking at. The only real low point is the lack of Wi-Fi in the rooms. Is only available in the snack bar and some very poor reception around the pool. It would be a great improvement to have it all over the hotel. Must mention the lovely staff - Gina, Helen, Lira, Lola, Emma and Johnnie - and all of the others whose names I did not get!More
