Holidays to Tsilivi give you traditional tavernas plus karaoke and disco bars. It’s old-school Greece with a modern twist.
A good combo
Tsilivi has picked itself a neat spot on Zante’s north-east coast. It’s 9 kilometres from the airport and 5 kilometres from the capital, Zante Town. The great thing about this place is that it’s got plenty of Greek charm but it still knows how to please the crowds. So you’ll find quiet spots where moustached pensioners play backgammon from sun-up ’til sun-down, along with a town centre stacked with lively bars.
Blue Flag beach
Tsilivi gets it right with its beach, too. This Blue Flag number has a 2-kilometre stretch of fine white sand, with just a bit of shingle as it gently shelves into the sea. The water’s great for kids – it stays shallow for a good way out. And on the food front, you’ve got plenty of family-friendly eating places nearby.
There’s lots for kids to do in Tsilivi. The resort packs in bowling, mini-golf and a top new waterpark, the Splash Fun. When the little ones aren’t bombing down the Black Hole, they get pirate ships and water jungles to tackle.
Close to Zante Town
Twenty minutes’ drive and you’re in Zante Town. For a capital it’s quite small, so it’s easy to get round the designer shops, quiet churches and cool museums. Above the town you’ve got Bochalli Hill, a great spot for an ice-cream with a view. And there’s always time for a seafood supper back at the harbour.
