Another Great Visit
My wife and I returned for our sixth year and enjoyed another lovely holiday. Many thanks to Poppy who looked after us at Breakfast and Susie and her team in the Greek Restaraunt where we ate every night. We missed the swim up bar but at least Tina was still there at the new bar to look after us .We also enjoyed snack lunches at the beach bar which was great . The lounge bar does get very busy and with the new roof very smokey which for non smokers can be unpleasant . It would be nice if the pool bar could open in the evenings as it is a lovely setting . We had our usual room and as returning guest you become VIPs and enjoy many extra advantages. We are looking forward to our return next year. Thank you to all at the "Portobello Beach".More
Lovely family holiday
We have just came back from 7 nights here, we have had a thoroughly enjoyable time. The food was excellent with plenty of choice, great location, lovely beach and facilities, clean room The only gripe would be that they don't fill up the fridge with water every day in your room and with young children and hot nights it would be handy if they did. The entertainment was ok but could do with a bit more and a bit more variety. Overall we really enjoyed ourselves, we had a lovely time. More
We stayed 10 days and we really enjoyed the place. Delicious food, nice waiters, staff always available and friendly! Very nice animation team, special thanks to Justine and Judith. Definitely coming back next year!More
Could do a lot better
Pros, Friendly Staff (all worked extremely hard), good Beach, very clean Hotel Room/Hotel, fun Waterpark, Proximity to Airport.(brilliant seeing planes), on-site shop, Old Kos town via coach - enjoyable, and also Captain Hook 3 Island boat cruise (booked through Rep) was excellent - saw Dolphins! Cons, Loads of Flies in Restaurant and Mosquitoes Lobby bar/Amphitheater. (Standing water/sewage plant?), Evening Entertainment was awful (low budget?), I think due to the lack of bar and bad entertainment, no-one went to amphitheater so the Lobby bar was packed and this led to long queues. No water in room fridge, no hot drinks facilities and poor Wi-fi in room - also led to Lobby bar overuse. Sunbeds at pool were reserved and then left - hotel did not enforce their rule of not reserving beds (same at beach). Paying for a safe is not good - 25 pounds for 10 days. Flight back was delayed an hour, Kos Airport was packed with 4 outbound flights in the Airport. First Choice Cabin crew very miserable and gossiping about other crew members all the way back. Very different to excellent outgoing flight and crew.More
Wonderful holiday with our family
Lovely time was had by our family including our 2 sons age 10 and 8. Rooms and beds very comfortable and clean. In fact whole resort very clean. Beautiful surroundings, food fantastic, spoilt for choice. Beach lovely and free pedalo and canoes. Waterpark fab. Nothing wrong with pool, boys had a ball, salty yes but does other pool water taste nice? No colder than other pools we have been in. All staff great particularly restaurant staff and reception. Entertainment team good, shows not 5 star perhaps but funny. Sun beds should not be reserved but used when people need them, it's just inconsiderate to reserve them until you need them with beds remaining unused until 11am. If we wanted beds we just asked the pool guy to get us some more beds and he fetched them??? Good tip!! Hired a beach buggy and toured island for a day which was fab. 3 Island cruise great. Tui reps very helpful and kind. If I had to look on improvements they would be as follows More bar staff at pool bar and restaurant bar. Gardens mowed more often . grass long and asked for it to be mowed which was done immediately. Safety boxes should be free. More stuff for youngsters to do. Mini club too young for my guys, and more sports they would have loved. Volley ball, water polo and darts. This was available for adults and sometimes the younger ones but hit and miss. Music to loud around pool bar but beach very quiet. We had a lovely holiday and would return.More
