Amazing time at this hotel let down by only one thing
We absolutely loved our time at this hotel. The location is ok, there are a few nice walking routes from the hotel, but to get anywhere you really need to jump on a bus which is located right outside the hotel, and it is so easy to use and great value. We were here mid October, and the weather couldnt have been more perfect. It was sunny every day with the nights cool but not cold apart from one evening on the Managers night, it was freezing. However, for October the amount of sunshine we couldn't have wished for better. FOOD - Was amazing at the hotel, I am quite a fussy eater and tend to choose the not so fancy stuff, I never went hungry and really enjoyed the food here, as did my Fiance. We were only half board (can easily change evening meal to lunch if you wish) found this worked great having a late breakfast and an early evening meal, hardly needed anything for lunch, and didn't drink too much as we would have on all inclusive, so came back from holidays feeling great aswel! To be honest, the cocktails weren't all that here and kind of let it down a bit. They were't too expensive, but I really didn't enjoy them. Have had much better cocktails in other hotels. However 5 minuites walk away from the hotel there was a lovely bar that served much nicer cocktails for just 5 euro - Antonis Cocktail Bar, seriously go and give this place a try. ENTERTAINMENT - this was ok. Nothing spectacular but passed a few hours. ROOM - we had a swim up junior suite, the room was massive! However prior to arrival I requested that we could possibly have a room with a view as I love nothing more than sitting on a balcony admiring a view. We had a room that faced the back of the block of rooms in front of us and knowing there was an aamazing sea view infront of this block I found it so frustrating, this was the reason I give 4*. Reading a few reviews when we returned, I noticed some people had beeen given free upgrades from a standard room to swim up juior suite, which is great for them, however they also got rooms that had a lovely view. So we had paid for a swim up suite, requested a view and obviously were denied, whilst others got a free upgrade to a swim up room that had a view. I found this to be quite unfair. The swim up rooms are great however, it means you don't really get the chance to socialise around the pool, but being half board it was nice to be able to stay in the room where our drinks were chilled in the fridge. Also junior suite came with two bottles of water per day which was ideal. The pools were freezing, the swim ups and the main pool. Heard a few people walking past saying how cold the pools were and would never 'waste' money on a swim up room - I would pay for one again, but only if it had a view aswel, and would make sure to still go around the main pool aswel. I guess in the height of summer the swim up rooms would be lovely to havea dip in the evenings aswel. The views from the rooftop terrace were to die for. The rooms across the road I can only imagine how amazing the views were from there! I literally wouldnt have left the balcony if we had one of those. Also with the room I requested a quiet one, suprise that this was not met either, we were a few rooms away from the pool area and the nightly entertainment was crystal clear from the room, we had a early morning arrival to the hotel on our first night and I was really tired, I did not get a chacne through the whole holiday to have an early night and catch up on sleep as I had to wait for the entertainment to finish before I could sleep, which was around 11-11.30pm. We met some great people on this holiday, everyone we spoke to was friendly. The hotel staff were all amazing. The two girls who took the gym classes were great and I wish the gym instructors were as thorough as they are in wanting you to get the best from your workout, showing you exactly the way to correctly exercise, and pulling you up on the bad habits - excellent. Would I come back to this hotel?? Most definately! But I would choose a deluxe sea view room, or a beachfront swim up room next time, the lack of view from the terrace really did spoil the experience for me. The food was great, room was great. When I come back I would defiantely do Half Board again. I look forward to one day returning - however for now, there is so much more of the world to see.More
Can't recommend this place enough. Staff great. Food excellent. Rooms very comfortable and spacious. Very clean. Have visited here on two occasions at the start of their season at Easter. Town a little quiet but in season, plenty going on.More
Lovely Hotel, Great Food
We stayed here in October for 11 nights, Greeted with a glass of bubbly & a cold towel on arrival & were upgraded to a swim up room which was a lovely surprise. The room was amazing, very large, modern & clean. Bed really comfortable with a fully stocked mini bar, which was replenished daily, tea & coffee making facilities, a fancy coffee machine, blue tooth speaker & a free safe. As we arrived quite late and missed dinner, we had food waiting for us in our room with a bottle of bubbly. The pool area is very nice with a pool bar and plenty of sunbeds, never had a problem getting a sunbed and the Hotel was at full capacity when we arrived. The pool however was freezing cold so no one used it which is such a shame. The Hotel is on the Beach which is good but no bar service on the beach, which would of been nice. The guys at the water sports are very friendly & knowledgeable . The Restaurant is large , the staff very efficient and got you to a table quickly, the food is 5* so much choice and all so tasty .You can book to go to one of the other 3 restaurants once during your stay which we did, but to be honest it wasn`t half as nice as the food n the main restaurant. Entertainment was OK better than what you usually get at Hotels. We stayed in the main Hotel, but went to the part over the road some evenings for a drink. It is ultra modern over there but very quiet and not very personal, definitely preferred the main Hotel. The Hotel is located in a very quiet area with just a few shops to walk to, but as it was end of season there was nothing going on outside of the Hotel. There was a bus stop right outside the Hotel if you wanted to go into Rhodes itself. The staff at this Hotel are a real credit, nothing is too much trouble and the girl on guest relations was brilliant. Would we stay at this Hotel again.... DefinitelyMore
Stunning Hotel and Location. Let down by the management and rules
We stayed here for our honeymoon. We are both in our early 30's and wanted an adults only, all inclusive hotel. Before the negatives, the positives; the staff were brilliant. the food was amazing. the smaller pool was really relaxing. all inclusive booze was local (Thomson told us on booking it was premium named brands) booze but not bad. And the Baclava is EPIC!! We found it, but there are a few things to consider. Adults only. Depending on the tour operator, this could mean 15 years old so long as that person is 16 upon return to their country. This meant that either side of our room, we had families with 16 year olds. Not adults only in my opinion. Men having to wear trousers for evening meals. This is strictly enforced by the hotel and by the tour operators. HOWEVER. Women are allowed to wear shorts. Not fair and sexual discrimination in my opinion. And men can wear shorts on their last night if they have checked out. Totally defeats the whole point of having a rule if it can be bent. Rooms. We paid extra for swim up suite. Brilliant. Cannot fault this at all. However. You quickly see that the range of rooms don't all match the finish and quality of the best rooms. Some of the rooms, including the one provided on the last night to have a quick shower, felt more like a naff London hotel room from the 1980's, complete with red carpet, green bathroom furniture and a lovely old TV in a tacky TV cupboard. No flat screen TV like other rooms. My last tip would be to seriously consider flying to Rhodes. The departure experience is worse than Corfu airport. Its horrendous! lines to queue to check in. Lines to queue to drop your bag. Lines to queue to get through passport/security. Thomson offered us an airport package to beat the queue. LOTS of money for the. Really let down the experience for the end of the honeymoonMore
Hotel and location were nice. Food was good but at times was just warm. Staff were friendly. At times a drink would be ready as I approached the bar. This was nice but not when I wanted a different drink. Had a swim up but was disappointed because there was no sun from 2pm. Might have rated a little higher if I had not upgraded to a swim up. Rhodes Old Town is certainly worth a visit. Worst part was having a tray of drink topped down my back.More
