You get stylish décor and a huge pool at this modern hotel, just a short walk from the town’s main drag.
The Island Blue is in great spot. It’s a 3-minute walk to the beach, and it’s not much further to the bars and restaurants on Pefkos’ main strip. Visits to Lindos are easy, too – it’s just a 10-minute drive away.
You get two pools here, one of which is a large, L-shaped number with views over the neighbouring mountains. At mealtimes, your options include a smart poolside restaurant and bar, and the buffet restaurant.

Return visit May 2017 absolute class
This was our second visit to the island blue hotel. We went for 10 days the beginning of May and had an absolutely lovely holiday. This hotel is pure class, the hotel, grounds, swimming pools, rooms are spotlessly clean. It is run efficiently by lovely staff who make it their business to make sure everything is just so. Special mention for the restaurant team who work so hard and George who is such a character. The surrounding area has loads of restaurants and bars that are amazing. Shout out for The Pub had some great night there. If you are like me and enjoy swimming the pool is Amazing large and clean I was in it by myself every morning loved it. Have already re-booked for May 2018. Definitely recommend you cannot fail to enjoy this lovely hotel abs area. Room tip J block is to be recommended.More
Fabulous Honeymoon at Island Blue
I chose the Island Blue after many weeks of research ( ex Travel Agent ) and because the holiday was also our honeymoon. We booked two weeks and requested a high floor overlooking the pool room, our wish was granted by the very helpful Katerina. From check in to check out every member of staff was fabulous, we arrived very late on Weds night and were so warmly greeted by Fei at the Elia restaurant. Our flight was late in but a late night meal was not an issue here, the Island Blue were geared up for it. At breakfast and at all times the staff were smiley, helpful, war and worked extremely hard. We used the bar in the evenings at Island Blue and George and Peter were great. The hotel complex consists of three different types of accommodation ( Island Blue, Pefki Islands and Linda Thalassa) and you can use the facilities and pools at any. There is a well stocked on site shop that serves all three. Breakfast had everything you could ask for, full cooked breakfast, ham, cheese, fruit, yogurt, cakes, different nuts, honeys, jams, different variations of bread and juices and fabulous fresh hot coffee. Only complaint but difficult to manage is that some hot items were often a bit on the cool side, nevertheless we enjoyed every day and always got down a bit earlier before the rush as it gets busy and twenty or so minutes earlier makes for a more relaxing breakfast. Lunches were amazing, massive portions and hot and tasty, we often shared the club sandwiches which were fantastic. The Island Blue had an adults only pool which we loved. It was clean with very comfortable sun beds and a very relaxed atmosphere, getting a sun bed here was never an issue for us in peak season although the larger family pool had the usual sunbed baggers out at the crack of dawn which wasn't really necessary, there's was always a bed to be found somewhere! Our room was super clean, huge with an enormous bed and brilliant air conditioning, we had a fridge which was a bonus. The cleaner did a fantastic job and towels and bed linen were changed regularly. Loved coming back to this room and relaxing and slept well throughout. We saw several weddings whilst we were here and it's a beautiful place for a wedding, the reps and wedding planner were all great as far as I can see. I had a gel manicure at the resort and the therapist was amazing, I am so pleased with the result. Had great meals in Pefkos and can recommend Nicholas Restaurant, Two Brothers and Enigma to name a few. We drank cocktails in quite a few of the bars too and were always warmly welcomed. We loved the beaches but Pefkos beach was a bit too busy for us. Tips would be: Hire a car via the hotel, we loved our three days and Marathon car rental were very professional. Get down about 8.30 for breakfast Try the Adults only pool Greek night is a must Had to use the pharmacy (very knowledgeable and quirky man - 13 euros for two prescription items - better than uk system!) Peacock Bar is fab ( thank you Nico and Lesley ) It's a big complex so we didn't see many of the same people twice but did make friends at the adults only pool , same folks went every day and we all got chatting, always nice! All in all a brilliant holiday, luxury accommodation in beautiful well kept surroundings, thank you to all the wonderful staff, we will be back at some point. More
Great bar team.
Stayed over the road at Linda thallsia got home last week. But you are able to use the whole resort. Love the island blue pool and want to put out a word of thanks to Yannis and his new "apprentice" Yannis behind the bar. Two very friendly and funny barmen. In our view the best start to the day begins with a glass of big Yannis' freshly squeezed orange juice. Try it. Looking forward to returning next yearMore
One of the best holidays we have ever had!
We absolutely loved Pefkos as everyone said we would but we never thought wed love it this much! Tbh I really don't know what there is to dislike and for us it ticked every box.In fact in a way because of how lovely the resort was I don't think you need to spend this much money and stay at the Island Blue, sorry! Its a nice spotless hotel in a good position from both beach and resort centre and the biggest plus for us was the adult only pool which was just so relaxing, also the rooms are very spacious which was good when we were there for 2 weeks and have excellent air con. We did not have any evening meals at the Elia Restaurant which is on site as we liked to venture out at night but I have to say the standard of the breakfast didn't encourage us to try it as it was OK but nothing out of the ordinary Im afraid. In particular the warm fruit juice was a bit of a No No! and the ice just watered it down. We visited the sister hotels of Pefki Island and Lindia Thalassa and found them to be more appealing in outside appearance and they are cheaper to stay in, also you could still use the adult pool at the Island Blue if you wish. All the staff at the hotels were lovely in particular the bar staff. The beaches in Pefkos are divine (loved the luxury sun beds!) the resort was a nice medium size, no high rise, lots of different bars and restaurants to try and as always the Greek people are so warm and friendly but never pushy. Apart from the lady in the 3 Pigs which we avoided! Lots of places to explore and we will definitely return as we still feel theres a lot we've not done or seen. The Glass bottom boat is a must along with the electric guitar playing of the skipper! To see the very old natural side of the island we went on the Treats and Treasures trip which made a lovely change. We went 7th June and we did have a day and a half of rain but it was quite welcome in a weird sort of a way! So Pefkos we will definitely return (something we very rarely do) it is such a beautiful place but I think we may choose cheaper accommodation as there is no need to stay in and around the hotel anyway as long as you are in Pefkos! But thank you Island Blue for our first experience of Rhodes and we will go to the Elia for dinner next time! Can I suggest some colourful shrubs and flowers around the hotel just to soften its appearance a little? Tbf maybe its the Island Blues turn for a little refurb (exterior varnishing etc) as the other two has had them I think. Anyway many thanks again xMore
So good we'll definitely go again!
Clean, spacious, comfortable and perfectly located for an idyllic, relaxing holiday. A few years ago we stayed as a family of four at the neighbouring Lindia Thalassa complex, but as the kids are now older we opted to upgrade as a couple to Island Blue, and it was worth every penny. We knew what to expect with Pefkos and it truly lived up to expectation with its plethora of fine restaurants just a few minutes away. We dined out every evening and enjoyed ample variety - sea bass, swordfish, lamb, pasta and more! The Pefkos beach and stunning bay is within easy reach too - a daily dip in the ocean is an absolute must. Nearby Lindos is certainly worth a visit: daytime sightseeing and shopping with the acropolis towering above, and nighttime dining on the rooftop restaurants makes for an incredible experience. But back to Island Blue - the daily breakfast at Elia Restaurant (part of our package) is worthy of praise. A superb choice of cereals, yoghurts, fruit, breads, cold meats and cheeses, hot and cold drinks, and a fry-up if you wish. All managed superbly by a team of courteous waiters and waitresses - they work so hard, but always have a smile on their faces. We spent most of our 10 days around the pool so the cleanliness, safety and facilities were greatly appreciated. Ample space between sun beds and a well maintained garden only added to our relaxation. When temperatures got too much the air-con room (cleaned daily) was a perfect retreat - again clean, spacious and comfortable with a sizeable balcony on which to watch the sunset. A shame we had to come back, but we left with a smile because we know we'll be returning. If you're considering Island Blue for the first time, you have very little to worry about. Enjoy! More
