A first-class pool scene that’s just a stone’s throw from the beach is in store at the Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton Resort & Spa.
This hotel has a spot on its own white-sand beach. It’s surrounded by acres of tropical garden in the north-western corner of Jamaica, and a half-hour drive along the coast will take you to Montego Bay.
The complex is made up of grand, colonial-style buildings painted in subtle pastel tones. Interiors are just as impressive – public areas feature majestic columns and wrought-iron chandeliers, while rooms are spacious and elegant.

Let me start by saying I have been in Jamaica for 15 nights. The first 10 nights were for work. The second 5 nights were for vacation. For work I stayed in secrets in Jamaica. Secrets is absolutely amazing! Beautiful rooms amazing views and delicious food. The service Is by far the best I have ever received. But it's expensive. So when my boyfriend wanted to meet me out here we decided to come to grand palladium. At check in they told us we could upgrade to lady Hamilton for $25 a night so we did that. Rooms were very nice and clean. However, today we got back to the room and they were not cleaned. Someone did come at 430 and I had to sign off that I didn't want the room cleaned. Well of course I didn't I had just come back to the room after 9 hours of being out so I just settled. One thing that really bugged me was today my boyfriend and I wanted to ride the hobie cat (mini catamaran) which is included in the all inclusive package. When we went to take one out the guy told us we needed a lesson- we said ok we have done it before but we'll take a refresher. He said ok then you owe me $30. We asked if he was serious and he was. So we refused the lesson and he told us if he had to come out to get us he would charge us $30. He never had to - but the resort shouldn't be saying this is a part of the all inclusive package if the guys at the beach are charging $30 bucks to use a toy! This left a bad taste in my mouth. Food was good - however, I wouldn't waste an evening on the buffet. The a la Carte restaurants are MUCH better. The buffets grossed me out. Dirty and lots of time low on food. I also can't believe the line you have to wait in to get into the buffet. Takes way too much time. Chez bubba- that's an al a carte restaurant I would have loved to go to however every night the wait was 45 minutes to "over an hour". So one night I asked what time they were open til and they said 9:45. So the next night we went there at 9 and they said it was too late cause there was already a wait and they couldn't fit us in. They could have mentioned that when I asked what time the place was open til. This also left a bad taste in my mouth. Entertainment is great. However we were in villa 27 and it was not mentioned at check in that this villa is right next to the auditorium. It would have been nice to know since the music is blaring til at least 11. I normally wouldn't mind but I love to sleep with the sliding door open to fall asleep to the sound of the ocean rather than loud music. Had I known it was so close to auditorium I would have chosen a villa a bit farther away. Speaking of check in - it took way too long to check in. At least 45 minutes which isn't a good way to start off a vacation. People were yelling with anger at the front desk because of the time people were waiting so that wasn't a good start. Beaches are nice. Nothing amazing. Lots of rocks!! Overall though - I would say this place is very good. Especially for someone with kids (which I don't have). There is tons to do with them from shows to games etc. The kids always looked like they were having a blast. Overall- the food was good too but I would stick to a small breakfast- jerk chicken at the jerk chicken shack for lunch and a nice dinner at one of the restaurants. Staff all very friendly. If you're looking to save some $$ this is a nice resort. If you're looking for pure luxury and amazing food go to secrets in mbj. More
I don't even know where to begin! This all inclusive resort was absolutely amazing and was worth EVERY penny we paid. The food, drinks, entertainment, grounds, and staff were wonderful. We stayed for 9 days.. we tried each la carte restaurant, and all the buffets. The staff went out of their way to make sure our stay was great. The only complaint we had was the villas were noisy. Since the villas were enclosed, you could hear every door slam, and anyone out in the hallway or balcony (we actually had to call security twice). The beaches were clean and they had free paddleboats and kayaks to use. The main pool was our absolute favorite! We felt very safe on the resort, and being a secluded resort with a private beach there was nobody walking around bothering us or trying to sell things. We will definitely be back!More
The Best of the best!
Just returned from our 14th visit to The Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton Resort. As with all visits we are never disappointed and always pleasantly surprised by the changes. From the staff at Check in Movian Rowe (you are awesome) To the staff at Sunset Cove( Darshon Thompson who is one of the ones who keeps the beach incredible, to a fantastic bartender Feonia Calbert ( works at the new bar on the beach, great addition by the way) Corita Martin and Judith Sterling in guest services go above and beyond to make your vacation special. The food is great at the resort.. be sure to try the Hibachi Grill in the Lotus, Steak at Bubbas Steak house.. both are awesome. The rooms are always clean! Room Service is a great thing to try as well on the nights you just want to relax.. came very quickly. Must see is the Infinity Bar to have a drink and watch the beautiful Jamaica sunset. A friend of ours was married and they went above and beyond to make her wedding just perfect. We used a private taxi to take a take trip into Negril and would highly recommend Lynval Morris at Jamaica Island Tours. Stayed with us the whole day and showed us some really neat places.. great tour guide as well as a driver. His wife Coleen is a breath of fresh air. You sure left them at the end of the day making 2 new friends! I don't think I can find one thing wrong with this resort. I am sure some will have complaints... you can't please everyone.. but this place is the ABSOLUTE BEST, Laid back is what your looking for.. then give the Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton a try. The staff, food, beaches are all second to none. Can't wait to return again next March!More
This resort was not my 1st choice but it totally won me over- and I am not easy to please! Just got back from our 3 night stay. The check-in was a little slow and my spirits dropped; but I got to know later that they were doing some special decoration in our room as we were celebrating our anniversary. You will be spoilt for choice in food options, drinks, pool, beach and activities. We were not able to cover even 50% of what this resort has to offer in 3 days! The rooms are beautiful, bathrooms are luxurious with jetted tubs and fantastic shower. Do upgrade to a room with ocean view; we could not as the resort was full. Its a huge resort but has well lit covered walkways though manicured gardens. If you don't want to walk, the golf carts can take you around. There are 3 buffets and many speciality restaurants. We tried the Asian and Seafood restaurant- both amazing. The sports bar was our fav hangout as it was open all the time and had pizza, hot dog, popcorn etc along with game tables. The entertainment crew did a fab job in the evenings-especially the romantic night-those ballet dancers were superb and the moves and stunts that they did were unbelievable. The drinks were top shelf and all included. The wine I heard was not great but I am not much of a wine person anyway! We took de stress massage with herbs and it was a 80 min relaxing massage at the beautiful spa. This gave us access to the wet areas of the spa. You can pay $10 pp per day for use of this area (do it!)even if you don't take a spa service. The pools were always clean and never felt crowded. The adult pool was open till midnight. The hidden spots were the Jerk chicken hut on the lady hamilton side of the resort (for yummy jerk chicken) and beer hut on the jamaican side which had fresh coconut water from 11 in the morning-don't miss these! Another not so secret gem is the lady lou coffee bar with amazing coffee and top shelf drinks (only place that had fresh mint for Mojito). The breakfast buffet was extensive with many live stations and lot of food options to satisfy the most fussy eaters. The only con would be the man made rocky beaches in some areas- but then I would be nit-picking! Hotel is about 40 min from the airport. 2 and half hrs from Dunn river falls, 1 hour from the glistening bay( bio-luminescent) and about 40 min from Negril. More
The property was very clean, most staff was nice. My problem with this resort is the food, which is very important to me. Buffets were terrible, room service was terrible, which by the way you can only get after 11:00am. Would have been nice to have coffee and breakfast sitting outside our room by the ocean. very disappointed especially with the cost of this trip and food. Never again with this chain.More
