This hotel is in a secluded spot between beach and mountains – no wonder Johnny and June Cash used to live here.
This luxe hotel was once an 18th-century sugar plantation. It’s right on the beach, just 20-minutes’ drive from Montego Bay. One of the buildings here was Johnny Cash’s holiday home for 30 years.
The site may be old, but the amenities are state-of-the-art – you’ve got a championship golf course and a themed waterpark. Then there’s the à la carte Italian with an outdoor terrace.

All inclusive excursion from cruise
This all inclusive excursion sounded wonderful with lazy river and nice pools, beach, food, drinks, activities and waiters!! We were excited and paid a lot of money for what we thought was going to be a nice day. I never seen any waiters. The small places to eat were a pizza/ bar place, a small patio dining, some jerk chicken and hamburgers on side of hotel and a small buffet inside where you could not be wet! Drinks were ok. Lazy river was really small and the towel hut worker was very rude. It was way over priced and was not fun at all. Food was horrible and the only place to change was extremely small! I would not recommend this place and certainly would never go back!!!More
Perfect hotel for family fun
Beautiful, clean hotel with amazing amenities. Staff went above and beyond to make our trip special. Food was decent for an all inclusive- Jamaican night at the buffet was the highlight. Perfect distance from the airport for families with kids. More

Exceptional resort for all ages...will return
Spent a week+ at this resort with wife, granddaughter (8), and extended family (with two teens) in two rooms. The resort really fit our needs by catering to adults, teens and kids. The food, I felt, was excellent for an all-inclusive. We've stayed at others, and the general dinner buffet can get tired and repetitive. Not so at the Hilton. Each day of the week has a different theme, and entrees are quite varied. Outdoor BBQ night is probably the best. The "reservation" restaurants (except for Luna Di Mari, see below) were very good too. Both Three Palms and Seaside Grill had "magical" settings outside, and should not be missed. The food at both, though not 5-star, was excellent and a nice change of pace from the buffet. Unfortunately Luna Di Mari did not measure up to the other two in terms of service. Though the setting was very nice (indoors), service seemed overstretched. The antipasti "buffet" table had very good choices, but was not replenished on a timely basis (even plates were hard to come by). Dinner serving was slow and some mistakes made. This one "glitch" in the restaurant lineup though did not really impact the enjoyment of our stay. The Jerk Hut was definitely worth the short trek, and the other non-reservation restaurants all provided enjoyable food and service. A note regarding teens/kids...there were always good/exciting choices for them, even if they are picky. Also there's a made-to-order coffee bar that we used extensively for all-day coffee/lattes, etc. Coffee and pasteries were excellent...usually brought my wife coffee and muffins in the early morning (coffee machines in room too, but better at coffee bar). The non-motorized sports were a "typical" all-inclusive lineup (sailboats, kayaks, paddle boats, wind-surf, etc.). Everything was in great condition, and there was never a lack of equipment/wait while we were there. If you like to sail (or want to learn) they have catamarans with both single sail and jib sail. You can get one of the attendants to go with you (I think for a tip...we did not do this, but saw others). Beach and pool space was ample and comfortable, truly a beautiful panorama no matter where you sit. An on-site pier is also available for sunning. Some have commented on seaweed. This may be seasonal, but there was little of it during our stay. The beach was thoroughly groomed every morning (and the bit of seaweed present taken up). The cabanas are a nice feature, but not essential (they're ~$100, one use free if you're Hilton Diamond). The water was clean/relatively clear. Right near the beach the waves kick up some sand so not "crystal clear" there, but if you take a boat out beyond the beach, the water is absolutely clear. There's a reef you can sail to, maybe 200 yards out, but did not see much sea life. Motorized boats will take you snorkeling for a (relatively) small fee. The water park was great for the kids/teens and occasionally for adults too. The slides are not particularly "scary" and the lazy river is short, but nice, with several waterfalls. The swim-up bar is a great place to end it. The waterpark was the only place where lounges may be scarce by late morning. Evening entertainment was generally pretty good, but always varied. Some nights were particularly entertaining (steel drum band, fire dancers/eaters). Went to the late evening "disco" a couple times but when we went (10-11 or so), not a lot going on, only an occasional kid dancing. After 11 or 12, adults only, but never stayed that long. Daytime scheduled "group" activities were plentiful, though we did not take part very often. 8 year-old went to kids area with a friend for a couple hours one day and enjoyed bracelet-making. Mostly we entertained ourselves. Drinks were always good (alcoholic and non). The hotel service was excellent. From housekeeping, to food/drink servers, to front desk personnel, all service was done happily and helpfully. We could not have asked for more. The rooms are pretty standard, but clean and with enough space that you did not feel claustrophobic. All rooms have a glass-railed balcony, and bottom floor rooms have a spacious patio. Hilton upgraded our room (as a Diamond) to top floor with a great view, but the room itself was similar to most of the others (we did not have a suite). We liked the hotel enough that we plan on returning for another week of pampering, maybe next year. It's a great place for extended family, as the resort is large enough to accommodate many interests, and all can do their own thing, and meet up when you want.More
We have stayed at more than 40 resorts in the Caribbean and this one was VERY good! The lazy river and water slides were awesome. The kids (3-13 years old) had no time to be bored! They spent hours and hours in the lazy river. Some of them went to the kids club for a few hours and made bracelets and t shirts! The food was fabulous! So many choices, food all times of the day. The buffet was open from 11 PM to 2:00 AM for snacks! Food is offered all over the resort at different places. Coffee shops were terrific, jerk chicken awesome and so were all the desserts! Room was clean, grounds were beautiful! Lots of sun chairs. Who ever set up this resort really did a great job, everything is laid out so well. Would go back in a heart beat! More
