Third and final time
Pros- 1. Cheap compared to other resorts 2. Some staff are friendly e.g. Karen, Orette, Annette (Thomson rep) and Jodi. Also managers who walk around the resort. 3. Edible food 4. Close to airport and town centre but not walking distance (neither of the main big resorts are). 5. Walking distance to Scotchies (jerk centre) 6. Room is cleaned everyday 6. Good beach activities Cons- 1. Not all staff are friendly 2. Buildings are run down, not maintained well enough. 3. Sea used to be clean, now its full of grass and seaweed so can't enjoy it fully. 4. All the swimming pools are dirty 5. Rooms are also run down 6. Cot is like a prison bed, gave my baby hives so we had to co-sleep for 2 weeks. More

Best vacation ever
We absolutely loved this resort from the service, food, amenities to the location and easy access to shopping. Only a 10 min drive from the airport. I would highly recommend this resort for any couple or family. Very clean and great service The jerk hut doesn't have the best jerk chicken but across the street, only a 10 min walk you will find scotches with the best jerk chicken and reasonably priced. What are you waiting for book now!More
Terrible Customer Service
By far, one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. I'd have to be extremely desperate to stay here again. Front desk service was mediocre and borderline poor. The employees seemed unhappy. Only a handful of the staff were pleasant. The first floor restaurant experience was like eating at a cafeteria in Junior High School. Very large and busy! The food there wasn't good. The only restaurant with excellent customer service and delicious food was the seafood restaurant, which was pretty tucked away. There wasn't a fridge in the room, no food allowed in the rooms. Live entertainment was decent. The Hotel needs to be revamped from the inside out. I'd never stay there again and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.More
I'll be back
I went for a long weekend with family and friends. From the moment we arrived until checkout, the service was excellent, the food was delicious, the entertainment(bands performers) was enjoyable. The restaurants, especially the Japanese hibachi and Jerk Hut by the beach was fantastic! The manager checked in on us several times to made sure we were comfortable and there was no need to leave the resort. For an all inclusive (food, entertainment, water sports, including snorkeling to see the beautiful fish) we got our money's worth and look forward to visiting again.More
Great For Families / Groups of Friends
We stayed at this hotel for two weeks, returning on 13th May. We were two couples over 50 but not over the hill!!!!!. I had requested both rooms be in same block, have one king bed and be high floor, also having read other reviews I also requested quiet block. Check in did have the queue that others spoke of, however we were given a welcome drink whilst we waited. Upon arrival it was a bit of a shock, the main reception area being a loud noisy place with a bar surrounded by plastic chairs and tables, no posh and swanky here. Our rooms were on the ground floor, and were awful, I think they were over spill rooms, they were dark, dank and had stuff missing, no plug in bathroom, no tissues in box provided, they were grimy and I've never once complained about a room, but we both decided we weren't spending 2 weeks in those, so back to reception we trudged, like all hotels in the Caribbean, the hotel takes a lot of weekend guests, making it crowed and noisy for the holidaying longer guests.(we arrived on a Friday) Anyway they said they didn't have anything to offer as an alternative as they were full!!!!!, but they would put us on a room TRANSFER LIST!!!!!, and told us to return the next morning, we had I must add offered to pay for a better room, we weren't looking for a freebie, anyway after more trauma the following day, and being asked again to return the next day day, we politely pointed out we were not willing to do that, as we were unable to unpack, they moved us, same block but up 3 floors, same room style and layout but much better. Rooms are a bit dated, but we had the most comfortable bed an pillows, both couples agreeing that we wanted to take them home. The bathroom was a bit cramped, but had clean towels replaced daily and no shortage of hot water. It also had basic toiletries (take your own) and a hairdryer . The room had plenty of storage space, and a safe within the room, you set your own code (no charge) also much needed air conditioning unit, you could adjust this yourself, it was a bit noisy but we soon got used to it and struggled to sleep upon our return home because our bedroom was TOO QUIET. It also had plenty of plug points as they were located in the base of the lamps. The room was serviced everyday, sometimes it was later in the day, but it made no difference to us as we spend our days on the beach. We did not encounter ANY rude staff, everyone was helpful and polite. The main buffet restaurant offered plenty of choice , people always complain that the food gets repetitive, but what else can they offer!!!!! Don't choose the same every time! There were lots of choices, and at lunchtime had a daily wrap, sandwich or pasta station, sometimes offering fajitas, or stir fry as well as all the other stuff. I usually suffer from holiday tum, but despite eating and drinking and sampling the different options I was fine!!!!!. The friendly waitress and waiters offering drinks. There are other specialty restaurants, the Sea-breeze, the Italian, the Terrace, the Japanese (cover charge $20 per person for Japanese, and worth every cent). We tried them all, you book at guest relations for the following day, again we had no problems getting a reservation, even booking in the evening for the following evening, some reviews speak about difficulty in booking. Our Favorite was the Japanese, great service and funny funny evening, we went there twice. Apart from the main buffet restaurant there was also the beach bar grill offering burgers chips toasted sandwiches and fish from 10am-6pm then again from 10pm - 1am, I didn't eat there but both hubby's did and said the food was very good and cooked to order, there was also the Nacho,Ice cream, popcorn and hot dog hut!!!!! that was open 12-6pm, oh an the jerk hut serving drinks and jerk chicken and pork, so there was NEVER a shortage of food or choices. You get towel cards upon check in exchanging them for beach towels, they were good quality and if you needed a 2nd exchange in the day, it was no problem. The hotel complex also offers an adult only section of the beach this has cabanas at the back of it, (again never a problem getting one) also a small swimming pool and swim up bar, as well as the main pool. There was never a problem getting a sunbed either on the Island the adult section of the beach or pool, the main pool or indeed on any of the other small coves that are within the complex, again other reviews spoke of a shortage but we never saw it during our 14 night stay. We personally found the evenings a bit uncomfortable as the only seating for after dinner were the sunbeds around the pool to watch the nightly entertainment, we worked out if you went to dinner in the main buffet restaurant, and got a table at the front, that table was yours for the evening and you could watch the show from there, this meant that we had to be down for dinner by 7 (much earlier than we would normally be) but it was the only way to sit and watch the entertainment. Some of the entertainment was good, some was just OK a few nights were er naff, but again its Jamaica it all inclusive and it was 3*. The beach was lovely, we had several spells of hard heavy (god it rained) rain, this caused the sand on some of the beaches to be washed away exposing tree roots and stones, but that's not the hotels fault. The sea is clear, has many small fish and is perfect for children or people who want to paddle, some reviews speak of no depth and it is very shallow,50 meters would still not be to your knees, likewise the pool is same depth all round and again is 3', so not the opportunity to swim if thats your thing. It was fine for us. The hotel even offers (in block 3) a laundry where free of charge you can do your washing, it has washing machines and a tumble dryer, washing powder can be purchased from gift shop. We didn't use it but useful if travelling with small children. There was also a children's play park and a supervised play club,The drink selection was whatever you wanted, but to be fair nothing tasted as you would expect and measures were small, we tried lots of different drinks, but they were all nothing special. There were a few people partying a bit worse for wear (dunno how on the strength of the drinks, but I suppose if you drink enough!!) but its their holiday as well, we Brits just don't get why some countries are loud and whoop whoop whoop. We had a good time but for us it didn't have the edge that other resorts have that we've been to so probably wont return. We have had better for less than we paid to go to Jamaica. We also did a trip to Dunns River Falls through rep and this was run by cool runnings, I will do a separate review of that The hotel is best suited to families and groups of friends, but we had a good time, so Thank You to everyone at Holiday Inn.More
