This adults-only hotel leads its debut with a prime beach position and four à la carte restaurants.
Soft white sand comes to your doorstep at this beachfront hotel. There’s a relaxed vibe to the place, though it’s just 10 minutes’ drive from Montego Bay and its line-up of shops, restaurants and nightlife.
The hotel sits next door to the Riu Montego Bay and, as such, you can move between the two for bars and restaurants. When it comes to the huge pool, though, you’ll probably want to stay put.

Not what I expected....
A lot of good.... And A lot of bad.... Good & Bad. All staff was friendly, but management was rude.. I felt disrespected and offended... the management is from Spain, and I am Mexican. Management followed my wife around like she stole something.... Really ignorant.... Food is flavorful, except the steakhouse. Terrible food... Menu says one type of food and they bring out something different. I ordered a N.Y. strip steak and got a the worst RibEye steak ive ever seen. I'm a butcher by trait, and I was appalled. Left the whole thing there... No option on Tequila... forced to only have RUM, sucks... Taxi tried scamming into ride to corner store.... The maid went thru my drawers... Horrible... The real only good thing was wait staff... And entertainment..... Security was lazy and didn't care about anything.... There was an explosion on the sister property that forced them to close all water activities which sucked.. And they pack my palace with ppl that didn't belong there.... It was bad.. especially since no one advised us what was going on.. One person died N 3 injured.... RIU was a bad hotel choice to relax or to be at because of there lack of communication.... I mentioned at check in that I was there on my anniversary and would like peace n qiuet, they gave me a 1st floor room next to the bar with music all night worst decision ever....... Best part of hotel was leaving to be somewhere else..... More
Nice relaxing place, not much fun though
The ground was well kept, the room was wonderful and spacious. Had a nice mini bar in our room. Even though it was not stocked every day had to call for refills. Good drinks at the bar. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Food was average, I personally thought the bacon tasted a little weird. This is a resort for couples who mainly want to relax because there wasn't much going on that was entertaining. Bring plenty of bug spray because there are mosquitos galore. More
Very good service, great food and large rooms
The downside to this hotel is having an 'open plan' bathroom - awful! The shower is behind a screen and toilet a separate room but the sinks and bath are in the room with no privacy. As I was travelling with friends we had to sit on the balcony (in the dark at night as there were no lights) while one person got showered/washed and dressed. The room was large, we had 3 proper beds in it and still had room. There was a coffeemaker but nothing for tea. The help yourself optics in the room had rum, whiskey, vodka and gin and in the fridge was tonic water, coke, diet coke, beer, water and sprite (we were all-inclusive). There are ice machines but not on every floor and take a bit of finding! The bathroom area had soap, showel gel/shampoo, conditioner, body lotion and a shower cap. We were given a very welcome glass of bubbles on arrival (it is only about 15 mins drive from the airport). The staff in the hotel are mainly excellent with a few exceptions for instance the drinks service around the pool was hit and miss depending who was on duty - one individual preferred collecting glasses, using her mobile phone behind the bar and taking orders and not delivering the drinks. There is also the same service if you are on the beach. However, it's not too far to walk and get your own drink and having eaten all the food you need the exercise! The buffet restaurant is excellent but there is also an Asian restaurant - Zen (we weren't impressed with that one), a Gourmet one - Krystal, a steak one and an Italian. If you are all-inclusive you are limited to choice of wine. The white was Chardonnay (which we all dislike). the red was Merlot and rose was Zinfandel. You can also have bubbles at anytime including at breakfast (or bucks fizz if you prefer). The breakfast choice is immense including the range of juices and the coffee was very good. We often went to the Aqua Bar for lunch rather then the main restaurant as we were eating too much! Note that they have an excellent choice of delicious cheese which we weren't expecting and we had a lovely glass of port to go with it every night. The majority of staff are very friendly and go out of their way to help you. There is a very good taxi service outside of the hotel with all the prices on the board and I can highly recommend Courteney (Red Bus Tours). Do visit Rose Hall plantation house as it is not far and really interesting.More

Fantastic Fourth Visit!!
This was my fourth year in a row to the Riu Palace Jamaica! Arriving this year was like coming home! Everyone at the front desk remembered me from years past and I was checked in and in the sun quickly! I loved the welcome gift they sent me too! This year I ate at the steakhouse one night. Very good! All other nights I ate at the buffet (great food and selection!) where Natalie took wonderful care of me! Breakfast and lunch each day I was taken care of by Audley! He is the best of the best!! Love him! There are three pools. The pool with the Lime Bar was quiet every day until after lunch! The drink service on the beach and around the pools was excellent! Compliments to all the staff here! So many of them remember me by name which always made me smile! The weather was PERFECT every day of my stay! The only thing I would do differently next year is get Club Mobay for both arrival and departure. The airport arrivals were very busy on April 8 and when I left on April 15 it took almost an hour to get to the gate! Until next year!More
Early Summer Break
As soon as we walked into the reception area we knew we were in for a fantastic holiday. The hotel was spotlessly clean, all the reception staff were very welcoming. Check in was efficient with towel cards, room cards and wifi codes all supplied. Our room was, again, spotlessly clean with a well stocked fridge and coffee making facilities. As this is an adults only hotel we also had four optics in the room, local rum, whiskey, vodka and gin. Food was varied and plentiful, if you couldn't find anything you liked you must have a very limited palate. There were four al a carte restaurants, Italian, Steak, Japanese and a Fusion no booking was needed and if it was full you could wait in the nearby cocktail bar. Pool areas again were very clean, all the waiters were pleasant and you could have a constant supply of drinks. There was regular entertainment during the day and evening, again it was nice to get a 'good morning' from the team as they started work. Stand out points. Great food, inspired idea for a beach bar-b-q late morning with seafood curry, seafood paella, tacos, and one day, lobster tails. Fantastic staff, pleasant, friendly and efficient. One negative, we were on the fight path of planes leaving the international airport during the afternoon.....but each time one went over you thanked your lucky star that you were still staying at one of the jewels in Rui's crown.More
