This adults-only, 5-star hotel has a prime spot on one of the Caribbean’s most famous beaches.
The hotel is right on Negril’s famous Seven Mile Beach. Plus it’s set in 27 acres of tropical gardens with koi ponds.
Inside, the hotel dishes up a healthy dose of Colonial style – think white linens, shuttered rooms and hammocks. All the rooms have private balconies or patios, plus garden or sea views.

Here's the deal on CSA
Stayed a week in early March with my wife. We are young 50s. I've broken down this review in the following areas: 1) Beach/Pools. As others have noted, the beach is beautiful and CSA's best feature. The chair game however sucks. CSA should do something about this. So many chairs were saved and never used. The pools are not great except the lap pool on the other side of the road in the sports complex. Both resort pools need to be refurbished. They are both small and don't compare to other Caribbean resorts pools. The pool with the swim up bar was dirty and needs attention. This pool is also way too small to have a swim up bar IMHO. C for yourself in photos.. 2) Room. We had a beachfront verandah suite. The room was clean upon arrival and maid service was excellent. We were on top floor which had nice ocean front views. Other rooms in same category had trees obstructing the view so we felt lucky to have this view. The bathroom has an open shower which constantly soaked the floor. The single vanity sink was to small and the drain was super slow. Lighting in the bathroom was poor. The cabinets/storage/dresser in the room was dated and the wood warped to the point of the door not closing in the main unit. Room was average in general terms. 3) Food/Dining. Fathers was excellent. Lemongrass was very good one night and not good on the second visit. Patois was good both times we had dinner there. Breakfast PATOIS was very bad. Slow Slow service and meals were cold. How eggs can be served cold is beyond me but skip breakfast at Patois. Others told us the same thing we met while there for the week. The palms breakfast buffet was very good. We did not eat dinner at the Palms. Friday Beach party food was very good. The grill by the pool with the swim up bar was OK. Excellent jerk chicken. This is self service and a few days the wait was longer than we would have liked but its self service up at the counter and they give you a buzzer when your food is ready. 4) Entertaining and Bars. Martini Bar was OK and the only place where they had top end liquor. All other bars only had middle level liquor. I'm a bit of a snob and cant drink Smirnoff or other mid level liquor. We ordered a bottle of whiskey and vodka for the room and couldn't drink them they were so nasty.. Other bars were OK. Service was not the friendliest at the bars but not horrible either. Please don't count on someone bringing you a drink while you sit on the beach. They give you flags to put up but ours went unwatched most days. We were close enough to get up and go get a drink ourselves but pamper you is not what CSA does for sure. Entertainment was not great across the resort. The palms had reggae almost ever night but it stopped at 10. The piano bar and disco are in the same room and the room smells musty and is not appealing. Certainly did not make us want to stay up until midnight for the disco and the piano bar was a joke with a name that tune game going on which was not music at all on one night we visited and a girl playing guitar quite poorly and trying to sing on another night. We left quickly. Pretty much went to bed every night because there is nothing to do after 10PM unless you want to sit in a musty smelly room listening to crap... 5) Gym/Sports/Watersports. Gym is excellent. Tennis courts were very nice. Variety of classes in complex was good. Lap pool very nice. Watersports were OK. Didn't snorkel so cant comment on that. We used the KYAKS which were nice. 6) Other. The sunset cruise was OK. The boat for that cruise is old and needs a good cleaning and some paint. It is in essence a booze cruise which is cool but the crew seemed to try a bit too hard to pull it off.. We had no issues with sand fleas. We saw a few ants in the room but nothing major. We saw a few lizards climbing the walls on our balcony inside the verandah but a slap of the towel behind them scurried them over to our neighbors. . Cats are plentiful but they don't bother you. Landscaping at this resort is not great. Lots of dirt where flowers once may have grown. The concrete pathways need to be refurbished. Some grass would also be nice. Lots of overgrown and/or dead landscaping throughout the resort. This place is about the beach but there's not much love outside of the sand. Service across the board was good. Seems as if the women did a better job than the men in general terms besides a couple young guys working in watersports that were terrific. Average age for the week we were there was probably late 50s to early 60s. Bus shuttle to and from airport was OK. It's absolutely a full hour and a half but the drivers were pleasant. So in summary, you are in Jamaica on a beautiful beach with pretty good food. Its hard to not have a good time at CSA. You will be fine if you are not expecting a 5 star resort. For the money paid I did expect more however I enjoyed myself nonetheless and I am sure you will too just know what it is before booking.More
I go to the Caribbean for the beaches and water. Our first day here the water had a lot of sediment in it and I was afraid I might be very disappointed in my decision to come to Negril. As the first day came to an end and the second day began, I could see that the water got clearer and more beautiful and as the days went by it just got to be more and more of what I expected to experience. My wife thought the food was superb, I thought a little less. But we never went hungry for sure. My wife thought that the best tasting drinks came from the swim up bar and I was running down to that bar for drinks for her quite often. 50/50 on the staff, some didn't seem to be very interested in their jobs but others were wonderful. Sunset cruise was very nice, we probably lucked out and got the nicest day for that. We loved our 2nd story Atrium room, the balcony was huge and very nice. The room was very nice also. Noise from the tree frogs at night was unbelievable, but, they seemed to tire out around 3 AM. The martini bar by Leman Grass was great, Leman Grass was wonderful and maybe my favorite meal. Feathers was great too, servers were top notch, fun and helpful. Food was great too, my wife had a terrific tenderloin there. Palms was good but we mostly did breakfast there. Patois was very good, we had a few dinners and lunches there. I wasn't crazy about the NY Strip. I was looking forward to the Jerk chicken at the Grill by the swim up bar, I had it once. A little disappointed in it. We loved the fish tacos at the other end by The Palms, the name escapes me. Friday night beach party had really great food, my wife loved the jerk chicken there, I had fish per Lent season. Grounds were very well maintained, we loved the trees, bushes and other greenery that surrounded out balcony. We met a lot of great guests there, we listened to fun music on the beach from the guys who sang for money on the beach. No problems at all from anyone on the beach trying to sell anything, just a "no thank you" from us and a smile and "respect" from them. Wonderful people in Negril! If we go back to Negril, this would be the top consideration for a resort. Thank you to NSA for a wonderful and relaxing week from March 4 through March 11.More
Couples Swept Away- An All-Inclusive Resort that's really all inclusive
All-inclusive resorts typically include accommodations, food and, drinks and little else. Couples Swept Away also includes a variety of activities- sunset catamaran cruises, scuba diving, snorkeling, kayaks, sail boats, a gym and wind surfers. Although we were disappointed in the buffet, the full-service restaurants were excellent. Some restaurants and activities require advanced reservations, so plan ahead. The only drawback is that most outside activities are an hour to an hour-and-a half bus ride away. .More
Fab sea and sun location
Great relaxing stay in very well run resort on a great beach location. Very difficult to fault anything great staff with character ,nice restaurants, clean spacious rooms lovely grounds. Only minus all the best beach seats are taken very early and not always used but not much you can do about that. Great stay and can understand why people return.More
I recommend Couples Swept Away for a vacation. The beach was beautiful, the rooms were clean, transportation was easy. We didn't love the food but we always found food. We also got married at Couples Swept Away. We researched several places but choose this place. The wedding was beautiful and the wedding coordinator was great. The preacher was excellent. Now, the negative. Our photographer was awful. He was not friendly and made us feel like he was in a hurry and that we were an inconvenience. The next morning, we went to the photo desk to select our pictures. We decided to go with the $700 package. This included 50 photos on a cd and a photo book. We had trouble finding 50 pictures we liked. It seemed like most of the pictures were taken far away and cropped so we had two or three pictures of the same thing. We finally found 50 pictures, some were selected because they were so bad that they were funny. The lady told us that we would get the book in two weeks. Three weeks later, I emailed and apparently the book was "lost". They send a new one. When we received it, my name and the date were cut off the front cover. I emailed and they sent another book. It looked exactly the same. I have emailed again and have not heard anything back from customer service. This is not what I expected from this resort. I would not recommend a wedding at this resort. If you choose to do so, bring your own photographer. More
