So different to high rise shiny marble floored properties
The cottage style accommodation appealed as a change and it was amazing. Such a lovely feel to the place and cottages made you feel as though you were in a more authentic caribbean setting. The beach the hotel was set on was divided into small bays which were beautiful. There were plenty of sun loungers available whatever time of the day you went to the beach. There was entertainment poolside during the day which consisted of quizzes, water aerobics etc but we tended to stay at the beach. There is seaweed washed up on beaches but they had attendants cleaning it up constantly. The cottage itself was spacious with plenty of room for your clothes and a really huge bed. The shower was very good too. If you like a morning cuppa you need to take a travel kettle and your own provisions. We did this and refilled our water bottle by asking at the bar and also would ask for a glass of milk and this was fine. The food was very caribbean so not much if you are looking for English dishes however a lot of the food was really tasty. In addition to the hot meals there was a sandwich station similar to a subway where they made up rolls or baguettes with whatever filling you chose and will also toast them if you preferred. There was plenty of salad choice and a good selection of desserts and ice cream. We stayed here for a week following a week's cruise with Thomson and wanted to just relax by the sea and totally unwind after our week visiting different countries on the ship so we didn't do any trips. It was perfect and we would definitely stay there again. Loved The staff throughout the complex were happy, friendly and eager to please.More
Christmas at DECAMERON
December 23-26, 2016. My family always stays at all-inclusive resort for our December vacation but we never stayed at one on Christmas Day. We decided to give it a try this year and chose ROYAL DECAMERON CLUB because of their awesome price and we've stayed there about 6 times already but always in the summer or before Christmas Day. It was a really nice experience though things seem to feel a bit repetitive after a while as it pertains to their menu. CHRISTMAS EVE they had an awesome array of food and varieties. The entertainment was good but also seem to be a bit repetitive after a while. However, we embrace the experience. My family's main grip with this property is that they DO NOT OFFER free wifi.More
Terrible man made beach
On arrival the staff were helpful and friendly, we had requested a beach hut near the sea which they did not give to us, they did move us near to reception...it didn't take us long to realise that was a mistake as it was so noisy...it wasn't noise from entertainment but from staff themselves.....They would stop for loud chats outside our room at 2am and then start dragging chairs at 5am... The food was great, lots of variety, and very tasty..we had a wonderful waitress who was efficient and friendly, however we did notice a big difference on her days off, we were often left to see to ourselves... The entertainments was like 'Butlins' in the sun and very false, although the dancers were good.. The beach was disgusting, building quality sand which turned black! Because of the awful weather their was lots of seaweed on the beach and the beach boys could not keep up with the cleaning...The advertising of a lovely beach is totally false...After 10 days we were offered an upgrade to Montego Bay, which we gladly accepted...More
Just returned from 2 weeks at the royal Decameron, and what a fantastic time we had very relaxing, our bungalow was near the sea (not seafront) and was spotless every day. Everywhere around the grounds was keep nice and clean and tidy. Food was amazing something different everyday. The Staff here work very hard and are all so friendly nothing is too much trouble if you have a situation they will sort it quickly. The only let down was the beach and the rocks in the sea (if you go here take sea shoes) but that is not the hotels fault. Thank you all at the Royal.More
