First time in Jamaica!!
It was our first time in Jamaica. EVERYONE raves about it. I do see why. THE PEOPLE are amazing .. the food .. the beach we were at was stellar!!! And I know most beaches in the Montego Bay area are cove like and not as nice but WOW ... you do not need to travel ALL the way to Negril to see a beautiful beach, We did get rain nearly every day and 2 days of torrential downpour but who can predict the weather? It hasn't made me change my mind about this beautiful place. Having stayed at Royalton Riviera Cancun we were very excited to experience that a-one customer service and food, etc. I have to say the food was excellent!! Everything ... The service was also very good. There were problems with our room - air not working - lights not working - plugs not working - wifi not working in our room - but once we called they came right away. The air never really was fixed properly and the smell of sewage coming from the shower drain was enough to drive anyone away. We just put a towel over it and didn't smell it again. It was likely due to the huge rainstorms. Again, can't control the weather. When it wasn't raining - it was scorching hot - beautiful. The resort is small but perfect - especially that the Blue Waters is right next door and you can go there as well. That is more modern and lovely too!! My only complaint really is the weather - it does bring a damper on everyone but if you take away the rain - it was a beautiful resort, beautiful people and excellent food and drink. What more could you ask for!More

Great beach fun waterslides for the kids
Amazing resort for families. Beach is great....white sand, shallow entry little to no rocks. The service in the restaurants was slow for a big group but the food was good. Rooms were a bit small but modern and comfortable. Kids liked the waterslides and lazy river. Recommend resort. More
White Sands is a decent resort
White Sands needs an update to its rooms. Cleanliness can be improved a bit, although I understand that bugs will always be present in a climate like Jamaica's. Food is fairly decent at buffet and a la carte restaurants. There's a variety of tropical drinks that are loaded with sugar and sometimes not enough alcohol. If I were to return, I'd book my stay in the Blue Waters side of the resort.More
If I could have given them a 0 I would
If I could have given them a 0 I would We arrive and I was taken to our rooms that smelled like Mold and the room had futons in it for the third person. I called on three separate occasions before we arrived and went over my requirements and they were not meant. I have repertory problems and had to walk three differante room before getting one the was not over powering small of mold and this took 3 hours of our time. That night we called for room service and the quesadillas was cold and under done and the club sandwich was not toasted and soggy the fires were limp and cold. We got up and moving at 11AM the next day and to our amazement the serve no hot food on sight all the restraints close down between 11:00AM to 12:30 PM. We got food from the Jamaican shack and the sports bar for lunch. The food was cold and not the traditional Jamaican food just back chicken with you add jerk sauce that was made very poorly and cold. The chicken tenders were so overdone it was like eating shoe leather and the fries were cold and limp. We had reservation at 6 PM for the teppanyaki grill I was seated and the room was over 90 drg they turned on a fan that blow hot air off the grill in my face. As I was looking around I saw the they were going to prepare sitting on top of the bar in the back of the restraint sushi, chicken, shrimp and beef getting hot with on ice around them I have had food posing a few times in my life got up and walk out. The way they handle the food was very un-prefashionable. Went to the buffet and found that on scale 1 to 10 I would give it a 1. The air conditioning did not work in the room and the room was 78 +drg it came on around 4AM and took three hours to bring the room to 72 at 9 AM bad night sleep. I am stuck here for3 more day I hope it gets better I would never go to Royalton resort of any type for my vacation. I will update this in the end of my time and let you know how it comes out. The food in the breakfast buffet was better 3 and the drinks were endless we went to the JADE restaurant for dinner and I ordered general chows chicken it was the worst was not made right in a brown sauce with no veg in it, asked for spices it was not no one at the table ate it. The fried rice was tasteless and lumpy and came out of a buffet pan and tasted like it. On the final night we ate at the Tex-Mex and the hot source they gave with the chips was tomato sauce but the chips were good they had on their menu a smoked gouda quesadilla this was offal but they made me one with cheddar cheese much better asked for Pico de gallo and they made it was very hot but ok. The take on the churro was good. The next morning, I got up in preparation to leave and when taking a shower, the water stopped and 20 to 30 min later it came on but cold got hot after 30 min. My daughter was on the first floor with a swim out pool it was dirty and she could never use it and she asked her butler every day to clean it to no avail. On checking out we went to the desk and owed some money after giving the clerk my CC and he asked for my ID so I gave him my CA license and he ran the charge I singed the receipt and he look at me and said I was not my signature and he needed other forms of ID to prove it was me. I asked him if he thought I stolid my CC he said yes. I told him that they took a copy of my passport and did not have any question when I checked in and I said look it up I was very upset at this point in my 59 years on this planet I have never been treated like this and we travel a lot. I will never use Bookit and go to a Royalton resort as they do not care about their clients. In my research, I found that Royalton is a Blue Diamond Hotels & Resorts propertyMore
