Riu is always consistent and amazing
The Las Americas was excellent. Service, cleanliness and food was excellent. I highly recommend the specialty restaurants. The buffet is the only reason why I gave 4 stars rather than 5. It was good but I visited the Riu Palace Peninsula just a minute away on the local bus and the buffet at the Peninsula put Las America to shame. I would recommend either but if you are a buffet person Peninsula. If you want great a la carte restaurant go to Las Americas. Also the Las Americas was adult only. So I recommend if you have 16-30 year olds...go to Peninsula.More
We visited with a group of friends and had the best experience in Mexico we ever had! The staff ALWAYS had a smile on their face! The restaurants were all GREAT, I loved that you didn't have to make reservations. Drinks were not watered down like other resorts and they had top shelf liquor. Pablo at the front desk was very helpful and answered all of our questions. When our flight was canceled, he helped us find other accommodations due to them being booked up for another night. My husband and I celebrated our 21st anniversary while here, they sent us a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. Staff was always cleaning something at all times. The pool and beach was beautiful as well. Not one bad thing I can think of about this place. We highly recommend Las Americas for your stay! More
This resort is fabulous. It is an adult only resort which is nice, not that I have anything against children. Customer service was outstanding. Resort is very, very clean. Resort is an all inclusive resort. Resort had four specialty restaurants along with the buffet style restaurant. The specialty restaurants are Italian, Japanese, Mexican and American. I personally was not too impressed with the food on the buffet. Just didn't seem to have a lot of flavor. However that could have been a personal thing. We did find one of the restaurants, The Black and White to be outstanding. They served a small filet along with lobster, along with other choices, that was some of the best food I have ever eaten. The filet was always cooked to perfection. Beach area is great. Would go back for sure.More
Five star luxury
We arrived in cancun on 10th January 2017 and are still here at present time we booked a 4 star hotel Rui caribe and spent a few days there to which we had no complaints at all food was good staff were very friendly and then we saw a sign for a free upgrade by the lift so we enquired about this and a day later on the 15th Jan we moved to this 5star hotel which is just fantastic very plush , friendly staff , I just wish we were staying here longer than the 11 nights booked we will be coming back here without a shadow of a doubt .More
This was or first stay in Cancun and our first all inclusive. The hotel views are amazing. As others have mentioned the feeling that you get when walking into that lobby was great ! We did notice the slight musty smell but we weren't sensitive to it. Our rooms were upgraded to ocean view which was appreciated. We wanted to relax, unwind, and enjoy drinks by the beach or pool for a long weekend. We did just that. Shout out to Ernesto at the pool bar. He is attentive and kind. We also wanted to commend the amazing service by Denis at the Black and White restaurant. We loved the food there so much that we ate there twice! I agree that it is a noisy resort. The heavy wood doors are constantly slamming and the acoustics bring the noises form the club and pool area all the way up and into the rooms especially if your slider is open. Being adults only you are going to get folks enjoying themselves. We saw large groups of friends, bachelorette parties and reunions taking place. It comes with the territory. The front desk was responsive to noise complaints. It is my hope that they might add a bathroom closer to the pool and beach. The one located down the set of steps was a bit far. We enjoyed the singers and the bar tenders in the club bar especially linguini! He was a hoot! My favorite part of the hotel was the piano bar where we enjoyed amazing music by a very talented pianist. I found the hotel to be spotless. From the bathrooms to the rooms everything was very clean. I felt like 4-5 days was plenty of time at this resort. We met wonderful people from Canada and the US. We would go back. More
