This place sucks!
So disappointed... so much money and this resort is the worst. The motel smells of mold and is very outdated. It says ADULTS ONLY, but be prepared to deal with alot of teeny boopers on spring break. Everyone is crowded and on top of each other on the beach. Went to an adult all inclusive in the Dominican last year and it was awesome in comparison to this place. Best parts are is the staff is friendly and helpful and the food is ok, but nothing to rave about. I definitely would not recommend this place or come back here again. So disappointed. More
As someone who works in the hospitality industry, the Riu Palace Las Americas in Cancun was without doubt the most incredible place I have ever stayed, while on vacation. The hotel itself was like a palace, beautiful interior as well as exterior. Speechless at the view of the pool with the turquoise ocean behind it. There were numerous restaurants on site, as well as a nightly entertainment and bars. Despite all the amenities and beauty of the hotel it was, without doubt, the customer service that made our stay so enjoyable. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel like royalty. The employees were always so polite, friendly and were constantly moving, waiting on every guest with a smile. I was amazed at how well a hotel of this magnitude ran so smoothly. I would definitely return to Riu Palace Las Americas and would recommend this hotel to everyone.More
Only been here 3 days and so far so good! Luis at the front desk got our room taken care of, I had request corner room 3 months then 1 week before visit but got booked in regular jr. Suite with ocean view. While he could not get me in the corner room.that day, he was able to reserve it for.the rest of my stay. Well done!! Food is good, even in buffet, my friend has found a chef who will make us anything we want!! The smell well hmmmm, I guess it depends on how sensitive you nose is. You can kind.of smell a humid like smell in the hall, but in BOTH rooms I was in, I smelled nothing. We have gone to show every night, theybare.fun and entertaining. A must is get a "dirty monkey" So the only complaint I have so far.. wish was there a channel guide in the room, grant it not there much but would be to nice what channels they have. Go questions let me know.More
Spring vacation, 1st all inclusive
The hotel is beautiful the staff are all accommodating and very friendly. For our very fist time doing an all inclusive We were pleased to a point. They are an open air night club and if you want an ocean view you have to put up with the noisy from the night club until about midnight. The room was very nice. (but) I was getting sick almost every day and just before we left we figured out I was getting sick over night in the room. Never asked but we think that the air conditioner air filter system was plug. After all they just got done remodeling the hotel. If you want to go on tours to the Mayan ruins I would strongly suggest Amigo tours. There are out standing. As for kids there was one day where there were kids on the beach from another resort and when one of the hotel guest complained to 3 different people nothing was ever done. The guest that complained on a couple of other confronted the kids and their parents, and they left. They are several restaurants and all are very good, could use help on their steaks.More
My wife and I take a one week trip every year to an all inclusive. We have been to Mexico, Jamaica, Dominican, etc. We are from Chicago and like to take the trip annually in March. This resort is one of the best we have been to. It is incredibly well managed. The resort is extremely clean and maintained. The food is excellent. We have been to Mexico in the past and had not been happy with the food but not a problem at this resort. The salad bars are great and the buffets have very good food. The restaurants were well serviced and the food was great. We took a walk on the beach to see the other resorts in the area and found how much better the Riu beach was maintained versus their neighbors. The sand at the Riu is the fine white soft sand...it is clean of garbage...no rocks and no seaweed. The neighbor resorts had rocks, seaweed, and a lower grade sand. There were plenty of chairs at the pool and the beach we never had a time that we couldn't find a spot. There is a Riu next door that is a more modern decor...and had more of the young 20's party group. The Riu Las Americas is more of an elegant rich decor that my wife and I found to be awesome. it was nice to have the ability to go next door and visit the sports bar and party with the young crowd (we are in our 40's and have kids in high school) but then come back to our resort and truly have peace and elegance. Highly recommend this resort. A shout out to Cesar and Abu at the bar and Rebecca at check in. Excellent people and great service.More
