This is our third time at the riu lupita and it never disappoints. Amazing choice of food, reception staff are very helpful, the dining room staff are amazing, and the bar staff are amazing it's got everything you could possibly want. And will be definitely making a 4th year next year. Thank you all at the riu lupita for another amazing holiday . More
First time resort-goer and was completely underwhelmed by the resort and the food. The staff were friendly enough. Well worth it to pay a little more (or the same) to go to a resort actually located on the beach and with better food. I'm not sure how this is classified as a 4-star resort, as the grounds were mediocre, the rooms were mediocre, the beds were unbelievably uncomfortable, and the food was only ok. Ended up switching to a different resort and am so grateful that I did.More

Riu Luppita well what can I say, we had a great time from start to finish.check in efficient nice drink on arrival reception staff good we were in our room unpacking in half hour. All the restaurants serve excellent food staff very friendly and so helpful.the main bar area very nice staff so good friendly and fast no matter how busy they are. The whole place is spotless with nice gardens and the wildlife are hillirious we called them the gangsters I will say no more go see them for yourself, being oldies we used the quite pool but you still get drinks and ice cream bought round with a tot of rum if you want it we did it's lovely. The nightly entertainment is exceptional allot of hard work goes on to keep this little gem to the 5 star standard it is. Ahh mustn't forget the bus drivers on the beach shuttle who drop you off anywhere on the way to the beach. There great, don't no what some people want from a hotel pity the uk hotels don't run to the standard this one does, all I can say is go see for yourself the people the place all great. I've been all over the world and would put this place and Mexico on the whole, top of the list it's got the lot. Get out and about see some of it, then back to this little bit of excellence. PS toilets are spotless 24 hours a day don't no ho w they do it but they do,can't wait to go back.More
Arrival - Greeted with a drink checked in and shown to our room all within 30 minutes Small hotel with an almost village like feel Room - large walk in shower. Large double bed. On the hard side but if you ask for a mattress topper it helps. Cleaned daily. Fridge restocked every other day Free safe in room Food - amazing buffet at all 3 sittings . Breakfast lunch and dinner. Totally spoilt for choice. Never stuck for something to eat. There are 3 specialist restaurants but we never used them Service from staff is excellent no matter when or where on the complex you are Well done yaneth olan and luis Pools and surrounding areas are cleaned constantly. More than enough sunbeds for guests at 2 pools . Can't comment on children's pool as never went No need for sunbed wars There is a regular free bus which drops and picks up at 5th avenue . Shops and the beach club More
Great Location. Average Accomodations
3 Star Resort. (just my opinion) I'll give the positives first: Great location! Can walk to town (with the right shoes) and the beach is a short (free) bus ride or long relaxing walk away. Beach club was very nice/ clean- as was the pool areas and grounds. Very nice wait staff, check in, pool attendants, etc. 5 stars for customer service. Food was average but consistently good. Quiet/ Laid back resort - average age 40-45. Some small children but not many. English speaking guests make up about 2% or less of the resort population- the staff does pretty well w/ English if your Spanish is weak. (like mine) Most people seemed to keep to themselves. We did meet some very nice couples from England :) Great big shower w/ strong pressure & plenty of hot water :) (when you travel frequently this is a sticking point! lol) Negatives: Rough towels NO IRON (you can check one out)- yes i like to iron my clothes to head out) Rough sheets Very firm bed (I didn't mind it but my better half wasnt fond) Smell- the room stayed very damp hence a moldy musty smell consumed the room somedays. Mixed drinks were good- watered down alcohol (which was fine, but for some this would NOT be appealing) No room service MEXICAN RACCOONS- shew- those little guys are quite forward and everywhere! not aggressive but annoying. Housekeeping daily BUT would only refill your drinks (alcoholic / non alcoholic) 1 per 2 days. Room had a garden view- which was fine bc we arent in the room much, but this is where the raccoons loved to hang out :( everyone smoked !!! for some I'm sure this is fine.. but I have lived in a non smoking area for so long that it was really annoying.. Bottom line- Worth it for the price we paid and the location. Just go into it expecting a 3 star resort.. E-R=C :)More
