Great for families, not for romantic getaways!!!!
This was our honeymoon and was not the quiet, intimate atmosphere we were hoping for. when i booked the hotel reservations for the Hideaway, adults only, i thought it was a separate hotel, not just a small wing of a super big hotel. There were only 2 restaurants for the adults only side so that was disappointing. We had to walk half a mile from the hideaway wing to the main restaurants. I will say that the hotel staff was wonderful, the food was pretty good and the beach area was pretty. However, we were really disappointed with the quality of the water this time. It was green and tons and tons of seaweed. it felt like we were swimming in a lake. gross! Not sure there were extra activities offered in the hideaway area. The gym offered plenty of nice workout equipment. The beach dinner on Sat night was not advertised nor did we get a personal invitation... we just happened to wander down for dinner to find the dinner already being served to guests. As for a family resort, it looked nice and big in the other areas BUT This is definitely not the resort we will come back to for a romantic getaway. More
Perfect 40th Birthday Holiday!
This was definitely the perfect place to celebrate my 40th Birthday! From start to finish nothing is too much trouble and the whole team couldn't have made my birthday any better! The hotel itself is big but it's nicely split into different sections so doesn't feel too big and you can use most of it anyway, we stayed at the adults only hideaway part and everything was lovely, superb pool, excellent rooms (although the mangrove side isn't ideal but that's what you get in this part of Mexico!) staff are excellent and in particular Francine and Paola from the entertainment team, Elizabeth and Emilio from the poolside and Cruz our poolside waiter, they made my birthday extra special with balloons, banners and cards on my sunbed when we got back from breakfast and then throughout the day got me special drinks and made it a birthday to remember. The restaurants are great in the whole resort although we did have an issue with the Italian as we waited 90 mins for a table and then the food was definitely not worth waiting for. Yet others were superb, Hunter steakhouse and Zen in particular were excellent and food was amazing! Even the main buffet restaurant was great too and this includes a special section for hideaway guests. In the hideaway section there are special nights too with a champagne party and a chocolate party which were great, hosted by Francine from entertainment team We have stayed at the Royalton in Dominican Republic before here and that was great, this is definitely better pretty much due the excellent service. Will definitely be back! More

Friendliest staff EVER!!
My husband and I had the experience of a lifetime! The staff was courteous and helpful, the pool staff and staff at the beach were attentive. The food was great! It was an all around outstanding experience. I am ready to go back!!More
Hotel is way too big, ugly beach.
The hotel is huge, much bigger than I care for. It takes a while to get from one place to another. We stayed at the Hideaway, adults only. It's ok the furthest side away from all dining and lobby services. The beach is small, filled with seaweed, and warm. The water is not refreshing likenother places. This is because the city they're located in is a swamp. When we arrived to our room, our beds were filled with tiny bugs. They said this is common for the area. The spa is the best I've ever seen and the pools are fabulous. Aside from the above comments, the staff, service, and experience was good. I would never go back though. Too expensive for a mediocre experience, comparatively. More
Top Facilities, Top Service
The hotel was incredible; nice decor, great food, excellent service, great facilities... it really was one of the best places we have visited, and we had no reason to leave the hotel resort for the 12 days we were there. We also wanted to mention a few members of staff who made the holiday the best it could be; Roger - always full of energy, always sociable, always getting people involved... he's awesome Francine - she has an incredible personality; always up for a laugh and great at getting everyone involved Perla - she was so welcoming every day at the buffet, and always went round each table to chat with the dinner guests Jihovanni - the best waiter - always on the ball and has a very relatable personality with all the guests Erick - we loved the classes available at the hotel which Erick led extremely well. We have never been to a better gym or better classes at a hotel facility. Daniel - whether it was at the pool in the day or at the gym in the evening, Daniel was just great what he did J&MMore
