The Cerro Mar Colina offers a choice of pools and a great line-up of activities, all topped off with sweeping views of Albufeira.
From its hillside position, this place comes with spectacular views over the Atlantic Ocean and Albufeira’s terracotta-topped old town. You can walk to the sandy shoreline in 5 minutes.
Interiors are lovely and bright, with whitewashed walls and plenty of sunlight that streams in through floor-to-ceiling windows. Apartments carry the white motif, too, and they’re finished with simple furniture and sun-trap balconies.

2 outdoor pools
The two pools are set together on the sun terrace, surrounded by palm trees comfy loungers, with straw parasols to keep the sun at bay. The larger, curvy pool is ideal for everyone who wants to swim, splash about or just float in the sun, whilst the smaller, circular pool is ideal for the little ones.
This small friendly, heated pool provides some relieve for those who are not sun lovers, or for when the weather misbehaves. Loungers line the sides making this a good spot to chill for a while.
Monte Verde is open for breakfast and dinner, and offers a wide selection of tasty local and International cuisine.

Average it is.
We did not book this hotel ourselves. We booked a tour of Portugal and Spain through a Canadian tour company based in Ottawa. Atlantico is across the street from the Cerro Mar Garden. The apartment (417) itself is well well equipped (dish washer, washer, good sized fridge) and has a separate bedroom with a sofa bed in the living room and a good sized balcony. There is no soap for the dish washer, clothes washer, kitchen. Bathroom amenities (shampoo, conditioner, hand soap) are not provided. The bed is 2 singles together â not comfortable and the pillows were lumpy. Beds and pillows need to be changed/updated. The apartment was difficult to keep clean â perhaps not enough staff for the number of visitors. Leaving a tip (1-2 euros per day) really didn't help. For the most part staff at the reception were polite and helpful. Wifi â forget paying for it (not secure). Go to the lobby (free but not secure). Better is to go to a restaurant (i.e. Louisiana) which is free and secure. The hotel restaurant is OK. Would we return â NO.More
Ideal for a large group
Just back from here after spending 4 nights on a hen. The apartments are quite big. We had a group of 20 and had 4 per one bedroom apartment. Each apartment had great storage facilities, good kitchen space and a nice bathroom. The facilities across the road i.e. Pool, spa, bar were excellent. Our stay was very cheap as well. To get into the old town you have to go down a number of steps. Going down there was ok but getting back up was a trek. Overall I would definitely stay here again.More
We spent two weeks at Cerra Mar in March 2017. The hotel was very clean and the kitchen and appliances modern . Overall the staff were courteous .The hotel has some very nice features but also some serious disadvantages. It is located on top of a steep hill so one has to be in good shape to go down to the town. There is a shuttle bus but it only leaves every two hours from 10 am until 530 pm. Taxis are available in the town. Our queen size mattress was thin, lumpy, rather dirty and very uncomfortable. It took five days of complaining to have it replaced with one that was somewhat better. We heard quite frequently from the staff that it is " still winter here" implying that not all services were fully functional. That is certainly true as the convenience store at the hotel had very limited items, the outdoor pools were unheated and there were very few evening activities and these were not very good. Wifi service was only available in the hotel lobby and that was spotty. Sometimes it took 30 or more minutes to connect. The restaurant associated with the hotel was poor to fair at best. We had two dinners there and would not recommend it. The fish was terribly overcooked and the service very poor. I would rate this hotel at a 3.5 at best and would not recommend it. More
A great apartment with a fully equipped kitchen, dining table, sofa, coffee table and television. The bedroom was roomy with big beds and the bathroom was well equipped as well. The balcony offered a great view and we were never bothered by noise. The only downside was the location which is up a steep hill and/or steps so wouldn't be great for people who didn't like a good walk.More
Very nice but hilly !!
Hotel is lovely with very nice staff everywhere super clean it's just the location that's set on a hill of murderous proportions if you are not reasonably fit it will be a challenge but as I am part mountain goat it was fine ð Seriously, you can take your time down the maze of steps but it will definitely be a taxi to return !! we tried another route to walk back and even though we used Google maps it was a jaunt in itself. Anyway steps negotiated we find ourselves in the Main square of the old town many many bars and eateries to choose from and Everybody wants your euro so after a quick scan of TripAdvisor we prompted for Buddy's bar and what an excellent choice it was big breakfast including coffee and orange juice (freshly squeezed) â¬13 for 2 delicious after a short walk up the escalators to the small tourist train we bought 2 tickets for the 40 minutes?? journey around town â¬3 each we quickly spotted the areas we wanted to explore in the meantime our evening will be spent at the Happy house Chinese buffet restaurant (review to follow)More
