Interiors here are chic. The lobby, for instance, features a glossy tiled floor, cream walls and cocoa-brown furniture.

Hotel was very nice, lovely reception area, bar etc. Room was massive and pretty modern. Beds were pretty stern but a mattress topper from reception sorted that out. Pool area was very good although even though there was a sign saying not to reserve sun beds, this still happened with nearly all beds gone by 8:30. Quite a lot of broken beds too which is annoying. A laugh watching guests block the sprinkler system with anything they can tho. The hotels location offered excellent views of the old town but very hilly with a lot of steps down to the square so be mindful if you struggle to walk. More
After a good transfer from the airport we arrived at the hotel early to find our room was already ready. We were half-board and did not expect to find a fully equip kitchen. This was great as we wanted to be out early on two mornings and although we could have had a packed lunch, it was easier to go to Lidl for some supplies. The mini market was also very good and friendly. Staff at the hotel went out of their way to make sure we were all happy, from cleaners, reception staff, pool snack bar staff in fact all staff. The pool was lovely and what ever time we went there seemed to be sunbeds available. We could have paid a little extra for Wi-Fi in our room but it was great to have a break from technology. We found no problem walking up and down the steps to the old town but we did use taxi's for longer trips. These all charged fairly and were readily available. We ranged in age from 14 to 70 and everyone thought it excellent. The Cerro Mar Garden is perfectly located, just far enough away from the fun and noise in the evening in the old town but not too far. This we did evenings after our evening meal. We were more than happy with the food and would chose half board again in this splendid apartment hotel. We found sleeping great. The double glazing shutting out the noisy sea gulls which often wake you in the early.More
Cerro Mar Garden
First time in Portugal for 10 years and glad I picked this aparthotel. Guests are of mixed nationalities and ages which meant fairly quiet but still plenty of people buzzing about. We are staying in the main building with a good pool and sea view in the distance. Great sized 1 bed apartment fully kitted out with all you need. Good points and not so good points below: Good..... Location - it's 5 mins walk to the main square, slightly longer to the beach Sun beds - plenty of them, still available after 9am! Apartment kitchen - it has a washing machine, a holiday game changer with kids Cleanliness and general condition - no complaints at all Room for improvement... Breakfast - is basic but edible. Gets repetitive very quickly though. Fruit juice is actually a syrup concentrate with added water. A simple change to fresh juice would up the game here WIFI - is advertised as free in public areas. What this means is you can sometimes connect sitting on one of the reception couches. Don't rely on it if you have kids who use internet regularly Overall....I'd recommend this placeMore

Not disappointed (again)
Currently into our second week staying at the Cerro Mar Colina block of the Cerro Mar complexs. We stayed here once before in 2015, loved it then and loving it again! It has the lowest rating of the three buildings, but does us and some. What struck me on our previous visit was the amount of repeat visitors, lots seem to have come back year on year and knew each other well, quite a friendly environment. Well same again, we recognised so many faces, some whom we had spoken to before. My son was four on our last visit and played with just one boy. That boy remembered him so they've been at it again, lovely. Wife loves the kitchen amenities, albeit she comes on holiday to avoid washing etc, having a washing machine there really helps her wash a few things during our stay. There's an Aldi and Lidl less than a five minute walk behind the building, very handy for those daily goodies. Last time we had a two bedroom at the back, this time we were given one with a pool view, room 4101. Cracking view of the Atlantic ocean. The stairs to the square, well they're still there. Doesn't take the shine off a great place, yes they're tough but you sit just above the old town, so worth the effort. Definitely would come back here again, that's guaranteed.More
States 2 weeks in the Cerro Mar Colina block. There are 3 blocks in the Cerro Mar complex -Garden, Atlantic and Colina. All have own access with pools and garden areas. We had a one bedroom apartment. It was great - very spacious with plenty of wardrobe storage and space. Large bathroom and kitchen - including a washing machine. Kitchen has fridge freezer and full electric oven wth grill and 4 ring hot plate. Plenty of appliances too - toaster, coffee machine, kettle, etc. Large balcony running full length of apartment with doors from bedroom and sitting room. Apartment cleaned every day with fresh towels. It was spotless. Pool area was good - plenty of loungers. Pool has bar area open from 10-7 each day. Found staff in Reception very helpful and pleasant. The complex is at the top of a hill and access to old down is via 90 steps (there is another route using road but it is longer). We got used to steps in no time but would not recommend for anyone with mobility issues or families with small kids requiring a pram. Complex quiet at night but main square with all nightlife and restaurants only minutes away (down the stairs). At the back of complex (3/4 minute walk)there is a Lidl and Aldi - handy for buying all you need for apartment. More
