Really nice hotel with a buffet style offering for meals. Very family orientated with an indoor pool if there is inclement weather Staff were very friendly and resort staff were always visible. Nice walk into the town if you don't mind walking otherwise there are buses.More
Lovely staff. Great rooms . Lots of well organised kids activities . Loads to do and see . Clean and tidy . Can't fault anything except we had the worst weather they'd seen in 15 years . That's typical of my luck . Must return and hope for sunshine More
Lovely 1st Family holiday abroad
This was our first family holiday abroad (Sept- October 2016). A family of 4 (including 2 grumpy teens that are hard to please) we got a good deal at the travel agents to stay here. We were in block 2, which seemed to be the quieter of the 2 blocks, and had an apartment facing the small pool. We spent the first few days around the small pool which was quieter and mainly adults. Towards the end of the week we spent more time around the large pool where all the entertainment was. There was a great choice of food on each day, we didn't get chance to visit the a la Carte restaurants, although the reviews i'd read wernt that good anyway. We visited the snack bar, there was a young lady there most days who was lovely and made lovely non-alcoholic cocktails for the kids. The only down side was there wasn't much choice of drinks the cocktails were more like fruit juice in a plastic cup :( other than the exception of when we dropped on the lovely lady on the snack bar, unfortunately she was only there during the day. So drinks on a night wernt that great. We visited Albuferfia old town by taxi which cost 8 euro each way. We also had a walk down into 'the strip' a couple of times but there wasn't much there really the old town was best but was told it was too far to walk (although it was only 10-15mins in Taxi so we were tempted to walk but didn't). We were hoping to go again this year but so far can't get anywhere near the deal we got last year!! I would also like to visit one of the other holiday villages. I think i've read that you can stay at the hotel it's (Hotel da Colina) self out of season Nov - April but it doesn't operate as a holiday village. The entertainment team were fab & kept our older teens entertained. I think the rooms were a decent size however a little bit of a squeeze for 2 adults and 2 teens. So would possibly look at booking an additional bedroom next time for 4 of us. We also had a few trips to the beaches.... took us a couple of days to work out how to get there though....until we overheard another couple discussing it; The quickest route is opposite the main reception which is their sister Hotel and you can get the beach by going around the back of that hotel. There's 3/ 4 beaches that all merge together if you're lucky enough to get there before the tide comes in.More
We really enjoyed our holiday here, we had a great room with a stunning pool/ocean view. The pool area was great and the pool area with slides was a great hit with the kids. The pool bar food was yummy and the food in the hotel was yummy also but it didn't have as much choice or as big of a choice as other holiday villages we have been to. The entertainment in the day was brilliant the reps were great. Just be careful if you have beds on the side of the pool with the grass, they do the more physical entertainment there. A guy in a big blow up sphere crashed into a bin near us and it nearly took our heads off as it flew past us!! We didn't go back to that side for sunbeds lol. The beach and town centre are a taxi ride away, there is a hotel bus that takes you to the beach but we prefer going and coming back when we choose instead of waiting for the bus or rushing to go get it. The centre is great so many shops/bars/restaurants I loved it! Not so much the kids they just wanted to be by the pool all day! We would recommend this hotel as it was really nice and we really did have a great holiday here. More
