Stayed at the sensimar Lagos for a week and found it very relaxing. Room was lovely with very unusual bathroom area which had a shower and bath. , it was on the same level as reception but as hotel is built into hillside we were on the top floor. We had a partial sea view which was perfectly adequate. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Food was a reasonable standard, buffet style. Bar area inside was fairly small but plenty of seating was available on the balcony area. There were two pools and a snack bar at the bottom pool. On one afternoon the hotel organised a wine tasting event which was very good. The hotel is probably a 30/40 minute walk to Lagos town, but taxis cost about 7euros or you can catch the tourist train outside the hotel. Very relaxing holiday.More
Perfect week in a perfect hotel.
We stayed for the last week of the season in late October and were lucky enough to be blessed with pretty good weather for the time of year. Warm enough for shorts, but not quite enough to brave the outdoor pool for more than one short, alarming swim. Though the indoor pool made up for the temperature of the outdoor. Positives: The room was just amazing; a fantastically comfortable and sizeable bed, a freestanding bath, ceiling to floor shower, twin sinks, air conditioning (that worked) a nice balcony, fridge, TV with a decent amount of channels in English and plenty of storage space. The room was immaculate when we arrived and was kept that way for the entire week thanks to the friendly housekeeping staff. The restaurant was great, serving a basic but extensive spread of both continental and cooked English options at breakfast, including gluten free breads and croissants which was a pleasant surprise, as well as sparkling wine and a variety of juices. For dinner service the choices were also extensive and of a good quality, regularly being replenished. Good salad options, soups, grilled meats, fresh breads and desserts. The staff were all helpful too, attending to the tables and offering more drinks. The restaurant had plenty of tables both inside and out, without being so close that you felt like you were sharing. Entertainment in the bar after dinner wasn't outstanding but was consistently good, with live musicians each evening and the bar offering reasonably priced drinks. The hotel is also only a few minutes walk to the beach and you can walk all the way to Lagos town centre on the sand. Negatives: The town centre is a bit of a stomp, but you can walk there on the beach. The half-day trip to Loule Markets is pretty damn long as the bus makes a lot of stops at other hotels on the way, takes around 3 hours each way and you get around 3 hours in Loule. The markets also aren't particularly great, only one is actually worth visiting. The hotel is quite far from the airport, we only had one other drop off on the way but it still took an hour and a half to get there. There aren't a lot of vegetarian options at dinner and the dishes that were served weren't particularly exciting. Other than that everything was great, hotel staff were helpful and polite, food was nice and we had a really relaxing holiday.More
Enjoyed our stay , the staff are great and you dont get unless you ask. Food good we went early always hot and a good choice, again the waiters will do there uptmost any issues just ask no problems. Room excellent we had an virtually uninterupted sea view, rooms kept clean and made up thanks to the cleaning ladies who work hard. Location great beech across the road about 10 mins tops and lagos town a 15 to twenty mins walk. Taxi about £7 bus and land train cheaper just out side the hotel. Adults only so a bit quite and not much in the night but the town as mentioned is not far away . Also the beech has a couple decent restaurants we ate in the day and in the night , basic but good fresh food and reasonable. Useual hotel prices for drink and water so we bought when we went out no worries. Yes we will go back one day just hope they do not change much. Thanks to every one a great stay.More
My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and it was wonderful. Our room was on the third floor and it lover looked the gardens, with Lagos in the distance and it was just so peaceful. Amazing rooms, I fell in love with the shower and the huge bath. Lovely balconys to enjoy the sun in, all nice and peaceful. Spacious wardrobes, plenty of towels etc. The food was delicious although I was a little disappointed you don't get a glass of wine included with the evening meal. Breakfast was lovely, especially if you get out there early and sit on the balcony you. We stayed for lunch sereval times too, they had a small restaurant just off the pool that did amazing Italian food, the pizza and vegetable lasagne were beautiful but minimum â¬30 for drink and meal for two which is good but you can get food for a fraction of the cost in Lagos if you're up for the walk. Lagos is around a 35 minute walk away. While a stroll on the beach is nice I wouldn't recommend walking to Lagos along the beach as I found it took far longer, sand in shoes, etc. You can also catch a train from the station just a 5 minute walk from the hotel (leave the hotel and take a left instead of a right and you'll find it down the road) it's cheap, quick and easy. There is very little immediately surrounding the hotel. A couple of quiet restaurants and that's it. Fine with us but not for everybody. There was evening entertainment at the hotel, we had the pleasure of a listening to a guy and his guitar and it was wonderful. They do a quiz later on in the evening too which can be fun. The pool was perfect, nice and peaceful. We didn't venture down the to the ground level pool or the indoor pool but they looked equally as relaxing. Staff were very friendly, no issues to speak of. Would love to go again.More
We stayed in the summer hight of the season and we enjoyed the holiday. The staff could no do enough for you especially in the restaurant and our James Bond look a like waiter. The food we ate early always hot and a good variety could not ask for more . But if you do have any requirements just ask never a problem, the restaurant manager is a character in hiself but in a good way. Accomadation wow! more than happy and with the sea view and looking towards Lagos town happy days. The beech just across the road ten mins at the most and well worth it . We hired the beds to old to lay on a towel but worth it stayed all day every time we went down the beech. We ate at the beech restaurants fresh fish dishes that were splendid and the view added to the meal. You can go downin the evening to and enjoy the food and the sea it makes your holiday. Lagos town well worth a visit and some good restaurants one in the centre brigatine or some thing like that was supurb for lunch and very popular. Taxi was about £7 or you can get the bus much cheaper just outside the hotel . Even the land train and stay on for a visit to all of lagos. When you see the other side you will be happy you are staying in your hotel. One point it is adults only so abit quite if you know what I mean not much in the evenings but plenty down in lagos town so no worries. Great holiday great hotel and good location enjoy.More
