Stayed here for a 2 week break, on a Bed & Breakfast basis. The rooms were clean, spacious, the kitchenette was fine, the bathroom was of a decent size, the bedroom also had ample space (and cots were provided F.O.C - great!) The rooms were serviced every day at your request (with an infant less than 2, unfortunately for the housekeepers, there was definitely the request) The bed sheets were changed every other day. The balcony was a bit small, but I think that's more personal preference. The Breakfast was the same every day, although there was a choice, some days the Bacon was cooked better than others, and the same goes for the Scrambled Egg. The was the usual choice of Yoghurt & Fruit available too, as well as Cereals. We didn't dine in the Restaurant, so I can't comment on the Service for Dinner, however, we did order a few dishes to the Room (which was collected both times, due to the outrageous Service Charge) The first night, I sent my food back - the 'Steak' was awful! Over-done, bland and unappetising to look at! It was offered with watery, over-cooked Sprouts & Broccoli (not a fan of Sprouts, but I don't think I would have liked them like that, if at all) and Dauphinoise Potatoes (seemed to be the Potato dish of Portugal). It was then given back to me, after a minute wait, slightly warm, the only thing that was different was the Sprouts had now changed to Carrots! I was too hungry to care, although, in retrospect, I would have taken it further (£16 for a Steak a dog wouldn't look twice at?) My partner did enjoy his Dinner though - he is a dustbin! We did however eat there again, and our faith was restored! Both meals were delicious - and not a morsel was left! The pool's outside were too cold to go into, but going so early in the year, it's something that can be expected. The pool's in-doors were heated - although they asked you to wear a Swimming-hat for the 'tranquillity of others' - I must say, I certainly did feel more tranquil in my bright pink Swimming-hat, than I would have, had I not worn one! The location was perfect, 20 minutes either side and you come across a lively strip. The area was quiet, and all very welcoming! Probably wouldn't return - but this is a beautiful world, why waste it in one spot.. especially this one!More
This was our fourth year in a row to stay at Jardim Do Vau. The reason we keep returning is quiet simple from the moment you arrive the staff can not do enough for you. Any request is met with a smile. The location is supearb. The beach is amazing The hotel is maintained to the highest standard. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment with sea view which is cleaned on a daily basis by the most courteus staff you could ever wish to meet .My wife and I cannot praise Jardin Do Vau highely enough and we will definetly retun again and again.More
Super May break
My wife and I are just back from a super holiday at Jardim do Vau. We had booked a sea view room but our room on level 1 of A block just allowed sight of the horizon. It, turned out to be a bonus as our spacious apartment had a lovely grass frontage beside the pool and only a very short walk from the beautiful beach. Location was fantastic with Praia da Rocha and Alvor within easy walking distance. We didn't avail of board but there are plenty of good restaurants available beside the hotel and an abundance of premises in Alvor and Rocha. It's hard to see how to advise against problems. There were just weren't any and we would certainly consider a return visit.More

This is our fourth year in a row. That says it all. Pool bar has got very expensive for food and drink. €3.50 for a half liter of local beer that can be got at the beach restaurant over the wall for £2.80 or €1.70 down the street. It was €2.50 last year. That's the only complaint. More
Just back from this hotel. Its certainly NOT 4 star. The apartment was clean and it had a nice sea view.I went for the half board expecting a nice range of breakfasts and dinners. But it turned out to be ala carte of which you only get 2 options. The hearty breakfast we expected consisted of the same 1 option for 7 days(,ie) sausages/ scrambled egg and bacon.plus the usual tea coffee cold drinks etc.It would have been nice to see a fried egg !!!!!.On the plus side the staff were friendly and of course we were not paying the earth. We paid a total of £1120 for 2 peoplesMore
