Just back from spending 12 days at this hotel and I couldnt fault it. Actually annoyed at some of the negative comments as totally not deserved. Hotel staff were great, always very helpful and friendly. Entertainment team were amazing, very fun, and my little girl gained a great friend Aitor who was on of the team. She can be shy but he always made sure to give her attention and help her join in. Endless amounts of things to do thorughout the day as several pools, slides games etc. Entertainement at night was ideal. Personally I wasnt there to be entertained, as long as my kids were happy so was I. They loved the shows etc and to be honest most nights I ended up enjoying them too so all good! Always very clean and I always enjoyed the food. Some nice places outside the hotel if you want a change and Marbella only 10 mins away so we went there one day too. Ignore the bad posts people, its a great place and I would definitely go back! Thanks for a great holiday (not for the holiday blues I now have though, lol)More
Brilliant Holiday in a fab hotel
Just back from a fortnight in this hotel and we had a wonderful time. Please don't let any of the negative reviews put you off as I honestly do not think they give a true reflection of the hotel, yes there are areas which could be improved but overall a brilliant hotel. The bedrooms are very small and for a family of 4 not ideal however I do know the hotel offers Suites, the rooms were spotless and cleaned every day with clean towels. There is plenty of food at every meal time and a brilliant snack bar at the sea front, we never went hungry. The queuing is a bit of a nightmare but if you go early not too bad, we came 1st 2 weeks in July and could see the hotel getting busier so imaging queues would worsen at peak time, the restaurant could also be laid out better with different food stations as this would prevent a long queue at the cold food station when people are waiting for the hot. We travelled as a group of 7 with 2 1 year olds and a 4 year old and all had a ball, the mini disco was a huge hit with the kids and a HUGE thanks to Aurora in the animation team who my son fell in love with, a true credit to the hotel. We won the bingo one night so for a 2 euro stake won 163, the night time entertainment ranged from poor to excellent, the external acts were all wonderful but the in house not so much, which is not their fault. We got some professional pictures in the hotel which were fabulous and a lovely memento of our holiday but book quick for an evening slot as day time too warm. The grounds and facilities at the hotel are spotless and you see maintenance teams all around the grounds every day, doing gardening, tidying up and keeping the place spotless which the hotel is. All in all a wonderful hotel, I would definitely book to come back and already considering it for next year.More

Came back home last Sunday....
I thought I'd wait a week before writing a review to let the dust settle however I can still say one week on, WE LOVED our holiday and the hotel complex. We chose this resort simply because we wanted a 'fly and flop' holiday but didn't want our kids to be bored so the water park / swimming pools were perfect for them (they're 13 and 14 years old). We're lucky that they don't need to be supervised, so they were happy splashing about in the wave pool, racing each other on the slides, lounging on their floats, whirling around in, what can only be described as, the bath tub rides! There were water areas for all ages - couple of smaller pools for younger children and a great water fun place where water came up out of the ground. Lifeguards were everywhere and were very observant on each ride - one lad was very helpful when my son bashed his foot on a door. We never struggled to find anywhere to sit/lounge about, we mostly chose the area above the beach facing restaurant and made ourselves comfortable on the bed loungers. Kids loved it as they could nip downstairs and help themselves to cups of chips and Coke. All the rides close at 6.00pm and the main pool closes at 7.00pm. All the areas, including sun loungers, are then cleaned down with hoses and tidied up for the following day. Like many other reviewers, I had read less than favourable reviews about the food and was a wee bit concerned. Some people must be incredibly picky and only eat gourmet food all the time as we found the food great - the choice was vast, something for us all, even me as a vegetarian was catered for in the Vegetarian Corner. Sure, the main restaurant was very busy but we learnt very quickly to choose our dinner time wisely (6.30pm) and the restaurant was less crowded than say 8.00pm. We ate at the Beach restaurant a couple of times in the evening for the themed evenings but found the choice better in the main restaurant, especially for vegetarians. Breakfast was, for us, the favourite meal of the day - fruit, waffles, cooked breakfast, cakes, pastries, croissants, doughnuts were available and set us up for the day. As a mum who cooks day in and day out for her family, I'm glad someone else was cooking and menu planning for our week there! Drinks were readily available, plentiful and help yourself - lots of soft drinks, including water, and beer were dotted around the place. Cocktails and spirits were at staffed bars. We found out on day 4 that some cocktails were available as our all inclusive deal - we could have any of the cocktails with a dot next to them on the menu. We went to Marbella, Puerto Banus and Estepona for days out and used the local buses and taxis. Buses to Marbella were busy and not the most reliable, were meant to be every 30 mins but ran on Spanish time (whenever!!). Easy to get to Estepona on the bus and we paid 11 euro for a taxi back from Puerto Banus. We took a catamaran between Marbella and Banus - our only time we'll ever arrive by boat into Puero Banus harbour! It was about 8 euro each for the trip and well worth it for a cooling journey on a very hot day. I used the gym on a couple of occasions and it was great. It had free weights, cycle machines, cross trainers and running machines; very clean and air conditioned. Two of our party used the tennis courts most days and had to pay a 10 euro deposit at reception for rackets and balls. Deposit was returned when rackets and balls were returned - we lost one of the balls but the lady on reception told us not to worry about it and repaid our deposit in full. There's a laundrette on site, it was expensive, but it was convenient and we didn't have a massive pile of dirty clothes to come home with. The hotel and gardens were spotlessly clean, an army of cleaners worked from early on in the morning right through to late at night. Our room was cleaned daily and if we wanted clean towels (beach or shower towels) they were replaced if we left them in the shower. Our room overlooked the pool area and we were lucky we could listen to the sea at night on the balcony. Each of our rooms had air conditioning and our kids bedroom was inter connected to ours. The evening entertainment was ok but limited if you had older teenagers who wanted to party (there wasn't anything for older ones). There was a great magic / contortionist show one night but we were happy chilling out together playing pool and chatting to other families. We didn't really go on the beach as we were happy by the pools but the times we did go it was pebbly and not white sands - but we knew this before we went. The beach at Estepona was better for laying on, if that's what you like, as was the beach at Marbella. If you're heading off to Globales Playa Estepona in the coming days/weeks I'm very jealous - you'll have a brilliant time. More

Globules Playa Holiday 2017
Travelled to the Costa Del Sol for only the second time with our 11 year old son. We picked the Playa mainly for the watermark which proved to be as good as we thought it would be for our son. One of the downsides was the transfer time as we would normally only do a maximum of one hour but it was around two hours this time and we passed the same place on more than one occasion. Checking in was quick and efficient but we were concerned over what size of room we would have as our last holiday was in a very small room. We had upgraded to a sea view and when we walked in we were stunned by the size of the apartment which had a great balcony. There was never any issue with getting a bed beside the pool any day and we were not down before 9:15 in the morning. There were also other great areas to sunbathe but we stuck to the pool area beside the water parks. There were two other pools but only our son used them when he went with animation team. The animation team were brilliant with our son and the friends he met on holiday. They could not do enough for the kids and my son became good friends very quickly with the animation team. The only downside of the animation was one show they performed which was pretty poor. The night time entertainment went from average to very good with Bingo every night for 2 euros a game. The hotel staff were in general very friendly but one in particular was quite rude when the boys lost a tennis ball outside the facility and she said they had to get ball back. One of the adults went to find it as they took five euros off the deposit. The food in the hotel was very good with a barbecue every night with anything from fish to steaks. There were also roast meats, sea food dishes and other delights. There were individual theme night at the beach bar which had to be booked but we were more than happy to eat in the main restraunt. The down side of it was the queuing for food but that was more down to people jumping in than anything. The only charge was for the ice lollies, crisps and ice cream cones. Ice cream tubs were free from food area. The hotel in my opinion was a very safe environment for my son and we felt comfortable for him to have some freedom with the other boys and girls. The beach looked good but was a bit stony in areas and there was a lifeguard at times but the area was never busy. We did the day trip to Gibralter as it was only 45 minutes away and this was excellent as we did the underground tunnel tour. The trip to Puerto Banus was really good and the hotel puts on a courtesy bus three times a day. The last bus does not return so you have to take a taxi at around 14 euros. We did the last one as it gives you the chance to see the marina in daylight and the night time. Great to see how the other half live. We were here during the British Lions matches but there was nowhere to watch sky to in hotel or nearby. We went to a lovely cafe bar over the main road and this was really good and the staff were amazing. We also went there on another occasion with people we met on holiday. There is not a lot around the hotel complex with some shops and an Aldi. The water park was amazing with enough for the kids which included a nice wave pool. The daytime activities were good for the kids with the animation team kept busy. All in all we would definitely go back to this hotel in the future.More
I recently spent a week at playa estepona with my family. We had a fairly pleasant stay mainly due to glorious weather and the fact that the 5 year old in the group thought the splash park was amazing along with enjoying the pools. However the hotel itself let the holiday down greatly! Meal times were very stressful in the main restaurant. For some bizarre reason everyone queued from the plates blocking every section regardless of what food they wanted , so rather than the usual set up of grabbing a plate and going to the section you would like some food they literally queued for no reason which made getting anything impossible!!! Lucky for me I had read reviews on here beforehand so we went to the beach bar every morning for breakfast and booked in for dinner at night as it was so much quieter, a lot of people were unaware that you couldn't breakfast here! The selection wasn't as great but still had everything you could want from full English to pancakes. In general the food was below average and wasn't very tasty (with exception of breakfast) we did eat out a fair few times during our stay so in hindsight I would not do all inclusive at this hotel. The entertainment was pretty bad but to be fair all hotels are the same with regards to this. Our 5 year old loved the mini disco! My main bug bear was the extremely rude photographer who came round every day and tried to sell his services and then got very humpy and abusive if you didn't want your photos taken! Trying to get your pool towels changed was a joke and in a week I only managed to get them changed once! Which is unacceptable, who wants to lay on sweaty and wet towels where they hadn't dried out completely overnight! The selection of pools was good and sunbeds were always available. If you like somewhere that you can walk out at night this is not the place for you as there is not much about and taxis everywhere you had to either find the taxi rank or book a taxi. If the hotel book you taxi leave plenty of time as they are often 10-15 minutes before they come. And wait outside reception otherwise other people will jump in, be aware that taxis in Spain only take 4 people so you may need to order more than one if a bigger party, as they don't seem to have minibuses/larger taxis. Overall I would not come back to this hotel , I would say it is more of a 3 star not 4. More

There's a height restriction for the slides at the waterpark here, little ones need to be at least 120cm tall.
