First Choice Kids' Club May to October
First Choice Kids’ Club caters for 3 to 11 year olds – so brothers and sisters can join in the fun together. And most of it’s completely free. It runs 5 days a week and – outside of peak season – there are parent and toddler sessions for under 3s, too. For your peace of mind, all First Choice Kids’ Club staff have advance DBS checks and hold NVQ Level 2 childcare qualifications. They’re First Aid trained, and there’ll be at least 2 of them on duty at all times. Plus there’s a strict sign-in and out system.
If you'd like to relax and unwind, pull up a sunbed and grab some shade under a parasol.

Just returned from a 2 week holiday at this hotel - our 4th visit in 4 years. LOVE this place! We have 2 children - 7 & 4 and going on holiday to a place which is familiar to them at this age means we can just rock up, unpack and start enjoying out holiday straight away. The hotel is large and the rooms spacious and clean. We were on the 6th floor this year overlooking Cala Gracio which is a lovely view on the quiet side of the hotel (away from the pool). Yes it's a little dated and could do with having the carpets replaced from the 4th floor down but this doesn't hinder the holiday experience. The restaurant is a decent size with indoor and outdoor seating and the staff work really hard to clear the tables and set them back up again for the next guests - yes it does get busy but they are open for 2.5-3 hours per sitting so are able to accommodate everyone. Food is good with plenty of variety unless you aren't keen on trying new/different things yes it could get repetitive but it doesn't need to. Bar service is very quick and friendly - I had heard someone comment that they had been to a 'holiday village' and waited at the bar for 40mins to get a drink! Not at the Tanit - you'll only wait a few mins. The pools - as we have young children we spent most of our time on site by the kids pool. Yes it does get busy but there is usually somewhere to sit and mostly we were in the pool with the kids rather than on a sunbed. The big pool is deep - especially for smaller kids but really they shouldn't be spending too much time there - not least because the bigger kids can get a bit boisterous. We also managed to get to the adults only pool at the next door Cala Gracio hotel (in the same grounds as the Tanit - just a 2 min walk through the garden) while the kids were in the kids club. This pool was a lot quieter and relaxed. We also spent a lot of time at the beach which is a 5 min walk through the hotel garden and down some steps. The beach is slightly overtaken by sun beds (not part of the hotel) which encroach quite close to the sea edge but there is still place for a blanket. Water is clear and calm. The entertainment team at the hotel - Gabri, Demi, Vicki, Naomi, Fatima, Raymondo and newbie Hannah are great and try really hard to include as many kids, teenagers and adults as possible with things such as t-shirt painting, darts competitions, water polo, football, archery, aqua aerobics and more. Although we did miss Milan this year. I find it amazing that they all speak 3+ languages and announce most things in several languages so everyone knows what's going on - not just in English (a previous complaint in another review) and this does not drag the evening out but shows how committed they are to be inclusive, especially as there were a lot of Germans and Spanish at the hotel. The Rhianna song (mentioned in a previous review) indicates that the next activity is due to be announced. The Thompson run kids club is also a welcome distraction. The room they use has very efficient aircon which gets the kids out of the heat if they need to and the kids dip in and out of a session at any time. If you don't want to get involved in the activities you don't have to but this is what other people enjoy on their holidays and helps introduce them to other people and make friends. If you want to sit by the pool all day that's up to you too - after all it's your holiday so do what you wish. San Antonio is a sweaty walk away - go via the water taxi which you pick up by the aquarium and get a taxi back. We are already booked to return next August!More
Another great stay at this wonderful hotel. Food, staff and weather were all excellent during our stay. The scenery overlooking the sea was stunning and one that you don't get tired at looking at. The walk into the west end of San Antonio is around 15/20 minutes but you could take the water boat or a taxi. This is our fourth time staying here and wouldn't stay any where else on the island. Another massive plus for me is that the hotel sells disco tickets to save you walking into the main part of San Antonio to buy them. Ushuaia was super! Highly recommended. More
Rep team :/
Naomi has done an amazing job with everything that she has done, sadly I have realised that the other rep team have been rude to Naomi and also the guests. Romondo and Mirian have disrespected not only Naomi and the guests but also Demi (Rep). Because Romondo is very old he thinks that he is the boss of everything in the hotel... he makes me feel extremely uncomfortable especially when he was only in his small boxers...... Demi does a very good job by the pool with the games and also dances, he interacts with every guest in the hotel and is also very kind and respects us. I would have rated a 5 star if I was respected by romondo and Mirian :)More
Already covered by others - food very good drink great & hotel clean. Rooms were fine for what you need. The location is fantastic with a great beach on doorstep, but there are a few jellyfish. Much preferred the beach outside hotel, head for aquarium but go left on path. No sand, pebbles - but outstanding snorkeling & cliff diving. Take bread with you to feed fish. Thousands of them, did this daily my teens loved it. Stunning but sweaty walk to Mambo -20 mins or 7 euro taxi. Used water taxi 1 day which was great 6euro return to San Ant bay until 6pm. Use supermarket behind Cafe Del Mar for cheap drinks & sit on rocks for sunsets. Hotel is very lively in day & the pool & sunbed area is way too small. If not out with towel by 6.30 you could be in shade most of day. Some Kids had 'accidents' in main pool 2 days running but nobody seemed too bothered about removing it esp lifeguards who do naff all! Beds very close together although The terrace is a real Suntrap after 12pm. Reps all a good laugh. Entertainment is indoor and there are limited views of stage, much preferred terrace in evening with music playing. Quick bar service (it needs to be as loads drink all day 😁) although the grey haired & bald barmen were miserable as sin. As all enclosed in 1 area plus the drink there was a bit of friction between guests a couple of afternoons but mainly down to kids falling out, which was not pleasant but passed quickly. I'm sure all kids will have a great time & don't worry if your have booked , but I would not bring pre teen kids with hindsight as really not a lot to do esp for over a week. Same games every day. There are similar hotels which offer far more for pre teens. More adventurous Teens & above will love it though especially with what's just a short distance away. The location is king here. If they could purchase the derelict hotel & space between this could be a dream hotel with something for everyone. Pool just too small as it is. Also loads of additional charges for 2 weeks £60 for late room 6pm, £50 safe hire (madness charging people for peace of mind when the safe is already there!) towels iron fridge etc. They are raking in the cash but not re investing as common areas very dated. All things considered, we would consider returning in a couple of years as the plusses outweigh the negatives. More
Rip off weekend
What can I say about the tanit other than they tried to rip us off We had booked for 2 nights in the adults only section of the hotel and although we searched for a double room for two people , upon arriving at 1 in the morning the reception told us that we had actually only booked for 1 person!! That being said the room in the adult only section for that night was not available any way so we were forced to stay in the family side for that night and told the room we had booked would be available to check into in the morning but we would have to pay for the extra person on the booking! In the morning when trying to check In the adult only side we were once again told that the room was now not available and we could either stay where we where or move to the palmera hotel. Oh....... and then there was the cost, our original booking for 380 euro which we thought was for both of us had now jumped to 650... an outrageous price to stay in a 3star hotel for 2 nights The manager was rude and did not apologise once for the cancellation of our room or try to help resolve the situation An altogether horrible experience and in the end just another hotel trying to rip off it's guests More
