Lovely little hotel
Excellent stay.Lovely atmosphere in this hotel. Staff friendly and very professional - The maintenance man Alex glued my husband's beloved sandals for him and fixed our TV very promptly...all with good humour. Everywhere very clean. Great position in proximity to the best beach in Mallorca. Stayed in a superior room with our two adult daughters. The sofa beds were large and comfortable. The kitchen area was well equipped,- ideal. The bedroom was spot on too, with a comfy large bed.. The view from the balcony was great also - the pool, pine trees, the sea and the mountains in the distance... We visited "the Condesa De La Bahia", (the expensive hotel next door) just for a nose. It was very busy and congested - sun beds on top of each other. We couldn't get back to our hotel quick enough!.....Would hope to return one day... would definitely recommend.More
Flexible holiday in a great location
We spent a week in this Aparthotel at the beginning of September and had a pleasant holiday. We were self catering but it was good to have the flexibility to use the breakfast or half board facilities in the hotel too which we did for one day and although it was adequate, we preferred to eat out or cater for ourselves. Location is good, it is at the far end of Playa d'Alcudia, almost in Playa de Muro so it is in a slightly quieter area but still close enough to bars and restaurants. The best thing about the location is the closeness to the beach. Ivory Playa is on the beach side of the road and just a two minute walk from the back gate to a lovely beach with soft golden sand and turquoise sea - beautiful! The apartment is well equipped with everything you need if you are self catering. Plenty of crockery and cutlery, fridge, two ring stove, microwave, toaster, kettle and coffee maker. We had most breakfasts, some lunches and a couple of evening meals in the apartment and it was not difficult to prepare food for two of us. It is comfortable if not a little dated but it is kept very clean by the hardworking maids every day with towels changed daily. The bathroom is small but the rainfall shower was lovely with colour changing LED lights. The beds were tiny - two small single beds pushed together but they were comfortable enough and you get used to it. The air con was OK in the main part of the apartment but was non existent in the bedroom and as it was very hot when we were there this was a little unbearable. Luckily, I was able to borrow a fan from reception which made things more comfortable. We had a sea view plus room with our balcony facing the pool and sea. We were lucky enough to get a top floor room which gave us lovely views of the sea and bay. We were in a great position to see the outdoor entertainment stage from our balcony so we enjoyed some evenings watching from afar. The entertainment was OK - what you would expect but there was a fantastic act on our first night - The Temptations tribute who were one of the best we have ever seen, very good quality act. As it was our first night and we were tired from travelling, we got take away pizzas from Bar Hawaii next door and enjoyed watching the act on the balcony which was lovely. There is a really good Eroski supermarket over the road which has everything you need and there is a Spar about 10 minutes walk towards Playa de Muro which is also well stocked and does lovely fresh bread and croissants. There is a bus stop just outside the hotel and we took the bus into Port D'Alcudia one evening and had a lovely paella in one of the beachfront restaurants with good wine for a very reasonable price. We noticed the queue for the bus was busy coming back so we decided to walk a little to look for a taxi - bit of a mistake as there were none and we ended up walking almost all the way back before managing to flag a taxi down. Stick to the bus or grab a taxi in the Port - the walk is too far in the heat. We also caught the bus to Puerta Pollensa on the Wednesday to visit the lovely market there. It was just 1.80 for the full journey but it is very busy and you need to be prepared to stand for some of the journey. The pools at the hotel are lovely with plenty of comfortable sunbeds and a refreshing lack of people reserving beds for hours before using them. The pool is fenced off until 9.00am which is great - no getting up at crazy times for sunbed wars! The atmosphere around the pool is quiet and friendly - could do with some music but that is not to everyone's taste. We didn't take part in any activities as we just wanted a quiet holiday but there was plenty going on if you wanted it and the reps seemed very friendly and talented. The reception staff were friendly and helpful but I felt the end of our holiday was spoilt by the lack of a late check out option for us. We were leaving at 6pm and wanted to make the most of our day. I had emailed ahead to ask if there was a late check out option which we were prepared to pay extra for. I was told we had to ask the day before leaving which I did and was told to ask again after breakfast on our last day - again, we did this and were told there was no option! It just felt like a waste of time for us and left us uncertain about our plans in our last day. Either offer the option or not but don't leave customers hanging on like that! We had to use the baggage room which has a shower room which is ok but not as comfortable or private as having our own room and lack of air con in the room left us hot and bothered for our journey home. Not the end of the world but we just felt a bit fobbed off. It is the first time we have ever had this problem so it was a bit disappointing. I understand that the hotel was busy but telling us to keep coming back suggests there was a chance and I don't understand why the uncertainty. All in all, a nice holiday and we would consider going back and recommending to others.More
Good hotel for families
We stayed for a week here in August. We booked an apartment-plus overlooking the lake which was perfect because it was a lovely view and we couldn't hear the music from the bar at night once the kids had gone to bed. If you are on the pool/sea view side, then we noticed quite a few people with very young kids would put them to bed, then sit on the balcony having a drink, listening to the music/entertainment so both sides of hotel are good, depending on what your situation is. The room was clean and modern and was set out with twin beds in the bedroom and 2 single sofa beds in the lounge. We found it easier to put the kids to bed in the bedroom and just push the 2 sofas together in the lounge so we could stay up later without disturbing the kids once they were asleep. There is a small kitchen area with table and chairs, microwave, hob and fridge. There are 2 pools and plenty of sun loungers for everyone, no matter what time of day you went. There is a bar right next to the pool and you can always find somewhere in the shade if preferred. We didn't use the kids club but there are activities every day and in the evenings and there is a small Spa on site as well. The treatment I had was lovely, but my only comment is that the treatment room was a bit noisy as you could hear people right outside, so it wasn't ideal location. A minor point though... The staff were very helpful and friendly - our fridge didn't work and it was replaced within an hour, no problem at all. The restaurant is a buffet style and there was a decent selection to choose from, something for most tastes, even fussy kids! The hotel is a few minutes walk to the beach but you would need a taxi or bus to get into Port Alcudia - it's about a 5-10 min drive depending on traffic. There is a supermarket about 5 mins walk away and a couple of shops selling things like buckets and spades etc. I would recommend this hotel for families, not so much for couples on their own as it can be noisy with all the kids. If you just want to be by the pool or on the beach then it's great, but if you like to explore the town then it's not quite as convenient as it would probably be about a half hour walk up to the port.More
We just came back from our trip to Ivory Playa. Me and my brother (adults) travelled there from 27.august til september the 3rd. I love this hotell, the staff will go out the their way to help you, the receiption is great, spesial thanks to Franscesco and others at the receiption. Hotel is very clean, and so are the rooms, also spesial thanks to cleaning lady Zoena for working so hard and having a smile on her face all the time. We didn't have half pension but we did buy dinner a couple of times at the hotel, amazing buffet, variaty of food and deserts and salads and an awesome cook. 22 euro each, which is worth every penny. They only serve lunch at the snack bar which also is good, with good prices. A chicke sandevich around 6 euro. The hotell is very close to a big supermarked, and a few shops just in a walking distance. The fabulous beach is also 50 meter away, blue sea and long sandy beache great for a long walks. The bus stop is also a few meters from the hotel (in front of the hotel) that will take you to the city senter/marina with lots of restaurants and shops. There is a shop next to the hotel for buying different type of excursions. We ordered a VIP trip to Palma (Palma is the capital of Majorca) for 37 europs with the company "No frails-orange logo". I recommand it, we had a personal guide Lorenzo (the coolest guy ever).. I definitely recommand it, if you want to make the best out of your stay. Palma has an amazing Cathedral and lots of historic places, and an old town shopping area. The only downside to the hotel is that there are lots of families with small children, children running around at night around night entertainment (the night entertainment is also aimed for kids) It didn't bother me as an adult but if you want a whole adult hotel, mabye you should reconsider.. All in all loved our stay here in Avory Playa and will definitely come back to Majorca and definitely to this hotel.More
You'll never want to leave!
Our summer holiday in this wonderful hotel Ivory Playa, was an exceptional experience! Our two young boys and ourselves had an amazing time! The boys really enjoyed the activities provided every day by the wonderful team of kids club leaders especially Enda and Josh! We have had such a great time that we have already booked again for August 19th 2017!!! our third visit!! Our Room was perfect and immaculately cleaned EVERY day! The pool, restaurant, bar, reception and even the hotel restrooms were 5 star all the way! We have booked a plus room but everything in this hotel is plus, plus, plus! What a warm welcome we received from the entire team, the complementary water, in our room on our arrival, the beautiful fruit juice delivered personally by the Lady in charge and not forgetting a bottle of champagne on my Birthday! It all was very much enjoyed and very much appreciated! Do not hesitate to book this amazing place. You will enjoy every minute of its delights! Roll on summer 2017!More
