Not our favourite holiday village
This is the 4th holiday village weve been to. Location ; Not great - you need to get a bus or taxi to get to either the resort centre or beaches - there is nowhere within 30mins walk. Rooms; Clean, modern, spacious, typical Spanish beds (not the comfiest but not bad), only shower in bathroom no bath but that doesn't bother us. Pool area; HIDEOUS! I've never been to such a crowded pool area before - there is literally Only one area that you can sit in where you can see both the main pool and paddling pool (6 beds max with a view) our children were 6 & 4 at the time and one wanted to be in the main pool whilst youngest preferred the paddling pool - the splash pool was dreadful unless you are 2 or under The other pool was the one used for lessons etc and the adult pool was our sanctuary when the kids were in the kids clubs - always managed to get a bed here once wed seen the children in safely. Reps Amazing as always - really keep the kids entertained during the day Nightime entertainment needs a rethink - there's no actual disco anymore for the kids which is a shame. Food AMAZING - we've never ever eaten so much on a holiday before - the kids were helping themselves to 3/4 helpings every meal time! From proper sausages, pancakes etc for brekkie to various meals in the evenings - I seriously cannot fault the food here at all. Staff at reception were helpful when we needed questions answering FYI - kos is still our favourite Holiday Village if you are comparing them More
We stayed here with our two year old at the beginning of October. The weather was fabulous and the place still very much alive. I would recommend upgrading to a rooftop terrace as the rooms are spacious and very private. The entertainment team are fabulous and work endlessly to make sure the kids enjoy their stay. Live and loud is great fun and there's lots of opportunity for the kids to interact and dance around. We were slightly disappointed, however, at peppa pig live - we thought this would be a live stage act, but it's the cartoon shown on a big screen, but hey the kids appeared to enjoyed it. The food is great for an all inclusive. Word of warning though, book the x3 al carte restaurants as soon as you can as some guests were refused the privilege as they had left it too late and the restaurants were fully booked. Cala Millor itself plays host to a large number of shops, bars and restaurants , which are a twenty minute walk from the hotel, or a 5 minute journey on the hotel's shuttle bus. The town also has plenty of activities for the kids by way of fun parks with giant bouncy castles, amusements, trampolines and 1euro go karts. It is predominantly German, but the level of English is very good. Another top tip is to book a private transfer from the airport especially if you have little ones (we paid around £60 each-way through Thomsons). I had read a few horror stories on TripAdvisor about the transfer as it is often the last drop off and about an hour away from the airport. I also heard from other guests at the hotel who'd encountered problems with the journey, so it was money well spent in my opinion. All in all this is an excellent hotel; staff are brilliant, friendly and work very hard. It has a shop on-site that sells all the essentials and more. If you're thinking of booking do it now, you won't be disappointed! More
