First visit to this hotel, we stayed on the 6th floor in a lovely room with a fabulous view. Food good, always nice and hot and a good selection, drinks reasonable priced. 2 great pools especially the infinity pool with a stunning view, lots of beds and parasols although towards the end of the week you had to queue to get a sunbed. Would like to say what a fantastic job the cleaners do, the hotel is spotless! The best I have ever stayed in Well Done 🙂More
Lovely hotel, great resort
Just returned from 1 week here. Weather was 35c average and not a cloud in the sky. Hotel is very welcoming and kept superbly clean and tidy. Check in was effortless, room was ready and as we'd paid a little extra for sea view, on the front of the hotel overlooking the promenade, beach and sea; lovely views of sunrise in morning. On that note, curtains weren't quite 'blackout' but were pretty good so room could be a little brighter than I'd have liked after sunrise. The air-conditioning was superb, kept the room down to 19c quite easily when it was over 34-35c outside. Breakfasts and evening dinner was excellent. Food freshly prepared, always hot and a great variety. Restaurant was well laid out and staff pleasant and professional. The bar and 'chill out' bar were both well attended in the evenings and drinks were moderately priced and was a decent if not vast variety of alcohol. Entertainment was varied and largely good - some bands, some singers with variety of Reggae, Pop, 70's/80's covers and some Soul. The pool area was always kept neat and tidy, sun beds were in decent numbers but nearly always occupied by mid-morning (10:30 ish). The hotel did operate a reasonably successful policy of opening pool area at 08:00 but enforcing no 'towel' reservations before 10:00 - if you were sunbathing on a bed that was fine, but any towels left before 10:00 with nobody on them were removed for your collection later. During the day if you left them for more than 90 minutes they were removed with a note left for you to obtain belongings from lifeguard. We witnessed this in operation and it did work well and kept some sun beds available. The beach is a 2 minute walk over the promenade. Sun beds and shade could be rented for about €10 a day per pair, €13 if you wanted to use a small basic safe they provided. Beach well served by lifeguards and sea lovely and warm and calm most days (green flag). Good jet-ski and parasailing activities if you wanted them about a 10 minute walk away. Beach runs for probably 1.5 miles so plenty of space to rent sunbeds or just chucks towel down and chill. The promenade runs length of beach and has plenty of bars and restaurants along its length - starting just a few minutes from the hotel. Alternatively there's some quieter bars and restaurants (just as lovely) behind the main promenade and Hotels where you'll also find some shops. There's also a lovely walk to a small 'castle' about 25-30 minutes from the hotel. Small Bar serving drinks and food there but some great views. All in all, great holiday. Would recommend taking the buses, which are well air-conditioned and cheap, to Cala D'or for a look around the Marina and resort. More
Best hotel in the area!
The hotel is excellent and just as it shows on the website/brochure, although this hotel has 6 rooms without balconies, which can be mis leading as it's obviously in Spain :/ It is also approx 1hr transfer from the airport but worth the travel. One week would be enough if you are a younger couple 18-30! Cala Millor is a beautiful part of majorca although the entertainment in the evening was quite poor but the hotel defiantly made up for it. We had a great time and made the most of the days on the rooftop terrace, you can also hire bikes from the hotel to explore the island. Lastly the food was excellent, and thought the seating plan was well organised. Would defiantly return to this hotel in another 20 years haha. Thank you Protur Playa, your staff were great and very attentive and our room was always lovely and clean. More
Our second visit confirmed our impressions first time around. This is an excellent hotel with brilliant staff in all departments great location on the promenade and beach in Cala Millor comfortable rooms and an extensive range of food of the highest quality. The sunbed issue is not as bad as some people suggest and we have yet to stay in a hotel that has resolved it. The problem and the solution lies with the clients using the hotel. We have booked up for next year and I have just one plea for the management. Please improve the quality of the "continental" breakfast provided for those of us who have to depart early before restaurant opens. After all we have paid for it!More
We have just returned from our sixth visit to this amazing hotel and are already eagerly awaiting our seventh in September. We want nothing more from a holiday than what this hotel offers. The staff are exceptional, the food is wonderful and the location is perfect. I keep reading reviews about sun beds! There are plenty of beds and additionally in the last two years more have been added on the sixth floor and the sunbathing terrace on the first floor, which regularly only has a few beds occupied. We choose to stay at the hotel during the day and use its facilities, moving on in the late afternoon. We personally enjoy relaxing by the pool. My husband is fortunately an early riser so he does join the sun bed queue so that we can get beds that get the early morning sun which we occupy straight after breakfast from 9.00am. This is our choice but if it's not for you then I can honestly say there always seem to be beds dotted around somewhere, just maybe not in the perfect position if you choose to wander down at 10.00am. I have never witnessed beds being left empty for hours either as has been suggested, after breakfast beds are occupied not just reserved for the day....We met a young couple who didn't want to get up early so came up with the perfect solution for them. They took beds on the terrace when they were ready and moved in the early afternoon down to the poolside for more sun when beds started to empty.... I'd be surprised and disappointed if the hotel has, as suggested in an earlier review, decided to respond to the recent ranting by a very few, regarding sun beds by changing the current, longstanding arrangement to not allowing them to be reserved until 10.00am. I can't imagine how that can work and who is going to enforce it. The current 90 minute limit works well and is not abused. Surely the restaurant will see the effect with double the number of sittings for many guests if as suggested, they are breakfasting alone. I'm sure guests will address this by pairing up to share 'sun bed duties' so that couples can breakfast together anyway. We holiday 3-4 times a year and accept that this happens everywhere. If you only look at the hotels to either side of Playa Cala Millor the guests there do exactly the same, it's not unusual. We've made some good friends over the years in sun bed queues!! 😂 Everyone to their own! If you can find something wrong with this hotel then in my opinion you must be looking for something. They can't make everything perfect for everyone but in our opinion they certainly try and definitely come very close... Thank you again Playa Cala Millor... See you in September.More
