This place gives you a choice of two lagoon pools, and it’s just a short walk to the beach.
Location-wise, this place is pretty central. You only have to cross a main road, walk for a few minutes and you’re at the beach, while it’s less than a five-minute walk to C’an Picafort’s shops, bars and restaurants.
The hotel has two lagoon pools, and children get a little splash park, too. Elsewhere, there are two restaurants – including an Italian bistro – and a chic rooftop bar for after-dinner cocktails.

Great hotel - loved it!
Couple of other reviews (19/4) are absolutely spot on. I was there with my son and 2 grandsons, 6 and 8. We had adjoining rooms in the hotel which were lovely, modern and clean. The facilities are great - we did travel to Alcudia on the bus and visited the beach but if you don't want to travel much the hotel has everything you need. I would go back there again in a heartbeat!More
Something for EVERYONE - recommended!!
We booked with Thompson where the hotel is in their Platinum collection and definitely worth some special recognition. In summary â complex is lovely, spa is amazing, staff are super friendly, food is outstanding and overall atmosphere is incredibly relaxed. See below for more detailed feedback as well as some handy TIPS to help you get the most out of your holiday: HOTEL & FACILITIES 1. It is a good sized hotel / complex â AND â very well designed with the amenities not being too far away from any rooms (5 minute walk or less). 2. Its in a garden setting with lots of grass / plants â looks lovely! ⢠The complex doesnât have a shop â but the resort is literally at the end of the hotel drive so lots of options. TIP â if you wanted to do any food / drink shopping - a 10 minute walk (end of hotel drive and turn left) takes you to a large roundabout with a big supermarket on the roundabout (keen prices). ⢠Hotel Spa â VERY nice Spa and a real treat that it is all free for guests. Over 16âs only (and they are strict on it). Has a heated pool with large back massage jets; sauna; cold room; Jacquzi; cold plunge pool; heated beds room ++ ⢠TIP â Tis very nice but be warned â some gentlemen like to go âau naturalâ in the sauna! ⢠Towels provided at hotel and can be changed 3 times a week (set times / days!). ⢠Also a fully equipped gym next to the Spa â all your main exercise equipment ⢠WiFi â is FREE â yay!! At check-in we were given a code for each device that we wanted to connect. The quality is OK. Certainly good enough for social media updates / listening to music. Not too good for streaming video and the web was sometimes a bit more challenging in the evenings when it was being more widely used ⢠TIP â my girls quickly worked out that the signal was stronger in the restaurant / reception area. ⢠Panorama Bar â on the 6th floor. Guests get an invite to enjoy a complimentary drink on their first evening. Well worth taking up the offer as the views across the resort are outstanding! ⢠Kids Club â for >4âs so our youngest not quite old enough. Also had a small ball pool and slide that my 3 year old liked! ⢠Mini Golf â on the site and free for guests. Not overly busy. Had a few games and a very easy way to pass an hour or so. ⢠Pool table and 5 separate âTable Tennisâ tables (â¬10 deposit for table tennis) ⢠Evenings â as well as the Panorama Bar there is a main bar that is very comfortable and large. No problem getting seats. ⢠Kids Park â with sand providing a softer surface and the usual slides, see-saw, swings and some spring bouncers making it pretty good for the little ones. Also shaded in a tree setting so again well thought out. LOCATION Best of both worlds! The hotel is quiet and relaxing and the resort is just at the end of the entrance drive with a good choice of eateries, bars, shops etc. The beach is a 5 â 10 minute walk through the shops. Itâs quite a nice beach and we spent a few days there. Beds available to hire and the Med lovely to swim in. Also a coastal path to a small marina. Not a big resort and youâd likely reach the end in about 20 â 25 minutes. Good excuse to sit in one of the beach front caféâs and have a coffee and a cake (amazing fresh strawberry cakes!!!). ROOMS Apartments vs Std Rooms⦠Not really a contest with the apartments being MUCH bigger and more comfortable. We had two apartments next door to each other in the first block. They had large balconies; large lounge area with 2 make shift beds (double up as sofas); big separate bedroom (twin beds); small kitchen and dining area (incl microwave; fridge; cooker; kettle and toaster); large bathroom (incl twin sinks and bidet) and LOTS of storage space Room Safe â in each room- think it was â¬15 per week + â¬5 deposit TIP â Room tip â try to get an Apartment!!!!! STAFF I usually find myself writing that the staff were âgoodâ â well they were especially good here. No problems and they were so friendly and attentive. A genuine credit to the hotel. DAY TRIPS Thomson offers a fairly standard array of day trips to include visits to the Water Park, Boat trips etc albeit a little pricey!! ENTERTAINMENT The hotel entertainment team were also a real credit to the hotel. They work super hard and are genuinely passionate about doing their utmost to help guests have an amazing holiday â lots of examplesâ¦. Evening entertainment is a little more challenged with a mix of in-house and bought in acts, but they are all easy enough to help you while away the evening. Includes a âmini discoâ each evening which my 3 year old liked. Daytime activities including darts, shooting, French boules etc. MEALS We stayed on half board and at the risk of a generalisation we have found that the quality of the meals tends to be better when on HB rather than AI â the Gran Vista emphasises the point nicely. Main restaurant This was the only one open when we were there in April (I think they have an outdoor one by the pool bar open in peak season). We were a group of 6 with very different tastes and were all really impressed. They had a new chef start this season and I wouldnât know if that has made the difference but the quality and variety of the food is excellent. Also â the restaurant set up is great. Three separate large sections with LOTS of tables. We tended to go at peak times and always got a table straight away and amazingly found that the food area was well designed and whilst busy you didnât find yourself queuing very much at all. Tables all nicely set with comfortable furniture â all in all really nice dining experience (I think the recently appointed hotel manager was previously the restaurant manager which may have helped his promotion!). TIP â Look out for the giant strawberryâs!! So much nicer than the UK supermarket ones! POOLS Plenty of choice for the pools and no need to be racing out with the towels for your sun beds (I said the hotel was very relaxedâ¦). The outdoor pools are all unheated so still a tad chilly for me in April (temperature at high teens / low 20âs). The main pool spanned a large area with waterfalls and rocks making it all very idyllic and lots of room to lay out sun beds. The childrenâs pool has a number of slides and is only about a foot deep so a relatively safe environment (albeit a bit chilly!). In addition to the heated pool in the Spa, there is also a heated pool for all (to include the under 16âs) in the main complex. Not huge but good fun for a warmer dip (we used this a few times). TIP â Donât put your sun beds under the many trees â high risk of an unwanted present from birds! AIRPORT / TRANSFER / FLIGHT Airport is large, modern and was fine getting through. Good selection of shops and eateries for the return flight. The transfer is a little longer. We were the first drop off from the airport and that took about an hour. On the return I think we were the only the second (of many) pick-ups and that took an hour and 40 minutes. Flights OK â the usual charter flights with pretty tight leg room. GENERAL ⢠Temperature as expected and pretty consistently in the 19 â 23 range. We didnât get any rain and barely any dark clouds so all in all a good result for Majorca. Positively the evenings didnât seem to cool off as much as we thought but the ladies tended to wear a light cardigan. ⢠Mossies - Didnât use sprays and as a group we only got a couple of small (but itchy!) bites so not a big issue. ⢠Tourist Tax - Also there is a tourist tax (applies across all Majorca since Mar 16). It was only just under â¬6 per adult for the week we stayed so not an issue. Just hadnât heard of it before and it is collected by the hotel at the end of your stay. ⢠Guest mix â was definitely skewed towards German and Spanish guests but still a reasonable number of British. Everyone very nice and certainly not an issue. ⢠Luggage â because its in the âPlatinumâ collection, Thompson give you a 20KG luggage allowance instead of their slightly meaner 15KG!! TIP â Currency Exchange â Try to avoid using the hotel (there are plenty of banks and a small outlet on the way to the beach) offering much better rates. Hotel was offering £1 for â¬1 PLUS they charge 2% commission on top!! Cleanliness â very good. Rooms and grounds all very well looked after. Still a good few ants around but I donât think that can be helped. I can say with confidence that we will be going back to the Gran Vista. Fantastic facilities in a very well run hotel!More
One of the very best.
Just spent two wonderful weeks at the Hotel Gran Vista in Can-Picafort Mallorca. The hotel was everything one could ask for, modern, clean, and providing every facility. The grounds were immaculate and the three outside pools simply sparkled. Although we originally booked B & B, the dining rooms and the standard of food provided caused us to upgrade for dinner for the second week. We booked a one bedroomed apartment a great decision. The Spa was very good and free to use. To be honest I really don't have a negative comment. Yes, the majority of guests are German, but so what, there are still plenty of Brits to chat with.More
Best hotel we have stayed in on Majorca.
Arrived home yesterday after a relaxing 7 day holiday at this wonderful hotel. We arrived at 7.30 pm, check in was smooth and very friendly, offered some fresh orange juice. We were informed to charge all food and drinks to our hotel room and were given a card to show when doing so, also the Island tax would be charged at the end of the holiday. we paid for safe advance 20 euro's and we received 5 euro's back on return of the key. We went straight to our room on the 3rd floor, very clean and tidy, bathroom had a walk in shower, there was also a hairdryer and usual shampoo soap etc. The hotel was mainly occupied by German guests but we have no issue with this at all, and when we were there most guests were on a cycling break so not that many people sitting round pool, never had issues getting a bed even at 3pm. We preferred to get beds by the three pools in the landscaped part of the complex. The breakfasts were the usual selections you would find in a Spanish hotel, from cereal, toast, pastries, cold cuts meats, cheeses to the cooked breakfast, bacon, sausage, beans, hash browns eggs ( boiled, fried, scrambled) There were PG tips tea bags but we had a pot of coffee bought to the table each morning. The evening meals, (we had read of other reviews are geared to the German taste) we didn't find this at all, very varied, from Pork loin, lamb chops, chicken breast, pasta , pizza. large salad section and vegetable section. The desserts were to die for, infact we helped ourselves to a few each night. Only complaint is you many think you are next in line for a particular dish but that doesn't stop people pushing in front, so be aware. Another gem was the roof top terrace bar which is open from 6pm. This is on the six floor and the view is breathtaking. Nice ambience there, soft music playing in the back ground. The entertainment team worked very hard, asking guests if they wished to take part in activities by the pool, if you said no they didnt try to pester you if you declined. We did win a couple of free cocktails playing some to the games. Lika and Monica would go out of their way to speak to us when they saw us, so didnt feel we were second class guests as non-German. Even came to say good bye to us as we were sitting outside the hotel waiting for our transport to the airport. Evening entertainment was okay, didnt matter what nationality you could enjoy it, All bar staff were friendly and efficient. We would recommend this hotel and are hoping to revisit soon.More
Just back from this so relaxing holiday at Gran Vista in Can Picafort. Excellent accommodation, so clean and staff very friendly and helpful. Our maid was so cheery , even singing every morning. The food was plentiful, although we had difficulty finding a table after 7pm. Manager then opened up another restaurant for us late dinners!!!!. The outdoor activities were great fun, due to busy sports team who work constantly to please everyone. We will certainly be back.More
