walk the green mile
just come back home after staying in santa ponsa .booked to stay in portofino apartment but got put in sorrento .was not happy with first room as it was on the ground floor with no view.so requested a new room.reception staff could not do enough to help.us we were given a 3rd floor room up the green mile with stunning views .only a few gripes the room does have a dampness problem but we had brought air fresheners with us. house keeping not very good. no bed change in a week of stay. towel change once in a week .and no cleaning done of apartment. But this did not bother us to much as we did not spend much time in the room.as we were there for are 35th wedding anniversary and wanted to enjoy this stunning resort.Eating out we used bobby across the road for breakfast 6.95 and well worth it.Evening meal Sherezade across the road is well worth a try good food and a view to die for.stunning place to watch the sun go down.and to enjoy a nice pasta dish price start around 12 euro.Would we stop at portifino sorrentto again yes we would for a cheap holiday it is worth it big thank you to reception for every thing you done for us from setting are alarm on are phone to being so friendly every morning and night. sorry we did not take your names but you will know who you are.More
nothing too muxh for staff
first time at this hotel. had always stayed on other side of the bay. this hotel has two great pools with elevator to get you there. often came home late and miguel the night manager couldnt have been more helpful. when my kids lost our adaptor at 2am he simply gave us the staff one and even went to empty rooms at 3am to get us more blankets as it was cold at night. 50yards from the beack and an all night bar and resaraunt 20yards across the road for your late night food and drink needs. always seems to be one of the cheapest 3 or 4 places to stay in this resort bgut its away from the more lively end full of young revellers from the emerald isle and is ideal for kids. will be back for sure, many thanks for a great stay, brian.More
Just returned from Santa Ponsa and stayed in the Portofino, have to say it exceeded my expectations. We had booked via booking.com for 19 people and after reading some of the other reviews i was a bit nervous before we arrived. I took others advice from here a double checked our booking with the hotel. We arrived late at night and the receptionist worked to get us checked in as quick as possible. We had 5 Apartments spread over 2 floors. The 1 bed apartments are very spacious and clean, i was surprised at the amount of living space. The location is excellent right across the road from the beach and it is the quieter side of the resort so it suited our group. The pool area was great but i can image it would get very tight for space in the middle of peak season. The only complaint i would have is our TV didn't work and we reported it to reception a couple of times and it still wasn't fixed when we left but it had no impact on our stay. The receptionists over the course of our stay were more than helpful anytime we had a question. I would stay here again.More
Stayed here for 4 days for my stag doo. Would use again with no problem. It's more a family place so we must've been a bit noisey as we did annoy Gabriel on 1 night. He was not happy. Other than that it's a 2-3 star place you basically get what you pay for so we were happy with it. Clean towels everyday. Great pools well maintained place aswel. Location was ideal also. More
