Be wary of the cleaners!!
I stayed here with my friend at the end of June for 5 nights! We stayed on the 6th floor and the rooms were quite basic but we weren't expecting much as it was just a cheap break! There is no toaster so bare that in mind if you are planning to make your breakfast in the room each day! It is also worth noting that there are no instructions for air conditioning so if you think you will get cold in the night then turn it off at the wall rather than the air con unit. On the second day we were offered a free upgrade to a sister hotel approx 8km away in Cala blanes as they were offering this to 3 customers per week as this hotel had been through a refurbishment. After asking a few questions we decided to take them up on the offer and move there for the rest of our holiday. We arrived at the sister hotel at 9am to find we couldn't check in to our room until the afternoon but it was sunny so we just had some breakfast and chilled out by the pool. On the evening I was getting ready to go out and couldn't find my outfit I had planned to wear! I checked my suitcase again to be sure until I realised I had left a dress and a pair of smart blue shorts back at the first hotel. I went straight down to reception to ask them to call the hotel to check if the cleaner had handed them in or put them in lost property. The receptionist advised that they couldn't check until the next day when the cleaner was back on shift. As we were at the water park the next day we went to speak to reception when we got back and they advised that nothing had been found by the cleaner and there was nothing in lost property. I couldn't understand as I knew I had left the dress and shorts on the shelf in the wardrobe. The only way I could be sure was to go and check myself so the next morning I ran back to the hotel. I checked lost property and nothing. I then asked to speak to the cleaner and described the clothes to her but she denied there being anything in the room when she went to clean it! I had to leave the hotel empty handed and I am still none the wiser as to where my clothes ended up but all I know for sure is I do not trust the staff in this hotel and I will not be staying there again which is such a shame as we couldn't fault the sister hotel! Better Than Expected
We stated between 20th -27th July 2017 as a family of 4. We were worried about booking this hotel because of the terrible reviews but as I got a bargain through Thomson I decided to go ahead and I'm glad I did. Don't get me wrong it's no holiday village but I paid a third this year on what I did last year at a holiday village, but you get what you pay for. There was a long transfer(over an hour) as the coach stopped at 5 other resorts (all very British)before we arrived (we were the last on the coach). A taxi ride though is only 20 minutes away. First impressions were excellent the reception area and pool area have all modernised and so have half of the apartments. (Others to be refurbished ) We stayed in a new superior studio which was very nice but the laminate flooring outside the bathroom was already showing signs that it is going to lift(really not sure why a hotel would put laminate down for this reason) For those that need some British television, they had CBeebies, BBC etc...There was also no bath!!! Not good when you have children that don't like showers. Also the glass door to the bathroom doubled up as the shower door!!!!After getting over these minor issues we started to relax and enjoy our holiday. We always seemed to get sunbeds, even around lunchtime, no shortage here. Larger pool that my eldest son spent most of his time in was perfectly large enough for the size of hotel, small, shallow pool with slides was really great for my 3 year old, he loved it. Football court which my eldest spent quite a bit of time I was a nice addition and popular with a lot of the children who seemed to have made friends. There was also an arcade, which strangely had an Irish bar at the back of which never opened..not sure whether it was going to open or if this will be refurbished eventually too? Kids club for the younger children open a few hours in the morning and afternoon in which the staff seemed very friendly. Pool Bar very expensive most of the nice ice lollies were €3.50 but half the price at the shop over the road. As everyone is self catering you can bring your own food and drink by the pool but not eat it at the tables. We brought our own lagers etc...from the spar about 10 min walk away .75cents for a large can of San muigel(cheaper than back home) 40 for coke etc....water cheaper we brought these back to hotel (hotel charged nearly €4 for a large plastic cup of coke which holds a 330ml can!!) and they kindly gave us ice for our drinks when we asked but towards the end of the week the bar stopped handing out the ice as they said they were running out, which is fair enough I suppose. May I also add the cook makes a fabulous sangria for €3.75. Food choices basic but tasty, lots of restaurants 10 minute walk away, with shops and bars etc...including the Santa Ponsa Square, we had some great nights here. There is a big stage in the middle and bars and shops surrounding it where they have different acts on every night. Granted it's very cheesy but still a good night. Lots of things to to and always buzzing. The maids only change your towels if you ask. Some days they never swept our room but if I went out to ask them in the corridor, they were very obliging and would come in and clean. All the staff were friendly. The lifeguard seemed very good at his job. A little boy bumped his knee and he was very attentive, even came back later to check he was ok. We met some lovely friends on this holiday too. Everyone seemed to get on really well. As I said at the beginning I was worried but we are so glad we booked, especially for the price. Those that gave bad reviews seemed to have the old apartments which were quite bad. If you're going to book, make sure it's a superior studio. These overlook the front of the hotel. A very nice stay. Our boys had a fab holiday, with great weather and made lots of friends. More
Still here checked last Saturday still here check at 11 pm room was so bad no lights, smelly and live wires from sockets in room went down to complain told no problem come back in the morning. Went back and she said we are fully booked I told her wasn't happy so for 100 extra could get an upgraded room which was nice clean on arrival. Animation team were amazing for kids activities all day brilliant night time not so good kids disco 30 min for 0-4 year olds 9.30 bingo 10euro the 1 hour bad entertainment this evening Phil Collins tribute singer so bad and our new room overlooking entertainment so had to listen to it my ears still hurt. Food is nice and renovated rooms are good overall would come back but just avoid evening entertainment. Good restraunts buster obradys, jackies and golden dragon (not a Chinese lovely steak). Animation team definitely best we have ever come across big reason we would book again.More
I was very pleased with this hotel. It was clean tidy, Air con was spot on! Everything worked perfectly in our room. Reception staff were pleasant and friendly. Just a short walk in to the square where their is shops and bars and places to eat. And about a 15 min walk to the beach. I would recommend eating out and not in the hotel (even though the food was nice) it was on the pricey side. And be careful if you shop across the hotel at the supermarket as they over charge people and hope you don't notice this happened to a lot of people we spoke to and our selfs. I would defiantly go back to this hotel it's cheap and cheerful. We enjoyed our trip. The entertainment was good. We didn't pay extra to be in a refurbished room but honesty this didn't matter I was very happy with the room. More
