Two good sized pools lay side by side here at the centre of this complex. A large wraparound sun terrace comes with sunbeds and parasols. Palm trees dotted around provide that bit of extra shade.
Children have their own pool to splash around in. It's right by the main pool so parents can keep a keen eye from the terrace.

The positives , apartments are large , very well kept , cleaned most days , cleaning staff are brilliant they work very hard , beautiful views from all balconies , short walk to beach and shops , excellent bus services , taxis are very cheap , food and drink cheap . Apartments don't have kettles but you can rent one for 10 Euros a week , no AC again rented for 10 Euros a week , remote control for television again 10 Euros a week , no free WiFi 3 Euro's a day , no hairdryers or irons again all for rent . Negatives Tour operators need to stop advertising this place as quiet and relaxing its NOT , there is noise from morning to night , these apartments are without rules and a free for all , no towels allowed on sun beds , ignored by all , we were there 6 days before we got a bed , by 5.30 in the morning all beds are gone , no inflatables allowed in the pool ! So many inflatables in the pool you can't swim in it without getting hit in the head / shoulders etc , three pools , 2 for kids but kids took over every pool making it impossible for anyone to swim even they wanted to . No towels from rooms to be taken to poolside , everyone took the room towels to poolside . Pools not be used after 8 o'clock , again ignored , kids screaming in pools after 10 o'clock in the night . These apartments are built so every balcony faces the pools and bar area which is about 800 yard's away , the entertainment starts at 8 o'clock and is very very loud and goes on some nights untill midnight , you CANNOT sit on your balcony and have a quiet evening or sit and talk as you you have to shout to be heard over the noise and that happens 6 days a week ! There is no escaping it either as apartments are built into very high cliffs the acoustics are tremendous , the only way to escape it and find peace is to sit in your apartment every night with all doors and windows shut , which with the heat makes it unbearable , going right to the back of the apartment doesn't help either as noise surrounds the building . Deep joy , once the entertainment finishes , people stay at the bar drinking until at least 1 o'clock in the morning ( the bar shuts at midnight) but people stock up on drinks and stay there , the bar has nothing to do with the hotel so management do nothing about it . Parents take their kids to the entertainment , so from 8 o'clock to gone midnight the noise level is off the scale , kids around the pool area at 1 o'clock in the morning , screaming , jumping over the sunbeds , throwing stuff in he pool and nobody does anything about it , I rang reception a number of times to complain about the noise and nothing was done . The louder the kids get the louder the entertainment gets to drown out the noise of the kids , its truly horrendous , you cannot sit on your balcony and have a quiet meal / read etc due to noise levels . The noise levels during the day poolside make it impossible to sunbathe there , screaming kids and shouting parents all day , when that stops , then the entertainment starts , you get bombarded with noise nearly 18 hours a day . Be aware also that just as every apartment faces the pool and bar ( only yards away as very small complex) every bedroom faces the walk ways to rooms and has automatic lights , so when people do eventually leave the bar , the noise past your bedroom is very loud plus your room gets lit up every few minutes with the lights going off and on . These apartments are also the local pub , everywhere else closes early so people from other areas all come here to drink into the early hours , I couldn't work out where half the people came from at night , and why taxis were pulling up late to pick customer's up , then discovered the reason why , I complained bitterrly to management that we have paid to stay here and have no peace at all , but people from other hotels can come here and make noise all night long and then leave to go back to their quiet hotels , its not fair , again nothing done about it . To add insult to injury , we were told by one family that their hotel is boring and very quiet so they bring all their family and friends up to these apartments every night as they can drink here until the early hours . We have stayed here on 4 previous occasions and it was a pleasure to stay , very quiet , peaceful , lovely ,not anymore , think Shameless / Jeremy Kyle / Vicky Pollard and you have these apartments . Hell would freeze over before I stayed here again and I would not recommend them for couples looking for a relaxing holiday .More

My wife booked this hotel on a last minute holiday through Thompson's. The only down side was an arrival time of 02.30. The hotel is small with 90 rooms on three levels. It as two small lifts, and four flights of stairs. All rooms are identical. It's built in a si circle. As two decent size pools plus a Kidde's pool. There also is a jacuzzi, with a small charge. There is a pool bar which serves food all day, then doubles for evening with quizzes, bingo with serious money, then to end the night karaoke. The rooms are large with bedroom to the rear of the building. The bathroom is in the middle with a large walk-in shower. The kitchen as a two ring hob, a microwave and a coffee machine, it lacks a kettle and coulinder for cleaning vegetables etc. A balcony to the front overlooking the pools and some views overlooking the sea on the first and second floors. The cleaning staff do a brilliant job of keeping the place clean and tidy. There is a small shop on site for the essential's. There is a larger supermarket 5 minutes walk away. A short walk to the best beach on the island is Amadora. Down there is shops and restaurants. You must visit Los Bravo's. The area Tandoor and Steak house. The food at Ciao Ciao is also excellent.. while we were there it was quite.. The only down comment was the two for one offer on drinks, you paid nearly as much for the two drinks down near the beach.More
Basic but clean
Just returned from the Gran Amadores 17th June. My partner and I got a cheap deal so were quite pleased with the accommodation. Basic but spacious and very clean. The cleaner came in every day. We ate out every night but had a bar snack on the last day. It was very cheap, 5 euros for a cheeseburger with chips but you get what you pay for really on that. The bar was cheap doing 2 for one all day. Other holiday makers reserved sunbeds very early in the morning and probably during the busy times you will struggle to get a sun bed unless you get up at 5am but we didn't have a problem on the 2 occasions we sat round the pool. The location is great, 5 minutes to the beach on a slight incline (most apartments here are way up in the hills). We took a walk along the beach path to Puerto Rico, it was a lovely 20 minute walk and Puerto Rico has a lot more going on than Amadores. We liked Amadores because it was reasonably quiet. We took the ferry from Puerto Rico to Puerto Mogen (little Venice) they have a market on on a Friday morning which is huge. We went twice, the first time, without the market I fell in love with it thinking of booking my next holiday there, however I changed my mind after seeing it on market day. It was rammed. Difficult to get through the crowds. The market was mainly knock off handbags and t shirts followed by cheap jewellery and underwear. Just not my thing. Had a lovely holiday though, every thing you could need.More
Great base for a lovely resort
I'm not going to go too much into the facilities on offer because the reviews further down describe it well enough..Yes the cooking facilities are basic but it depends what you are looking for,for us we don't go on holiday to cook so that didn't bother us..For the price it was fantastic value for money in a great location...Very clean, cheap bar and very helpful staff.....The beach which is fantastic is only a few minutes walk away and is ringed by restraunts and shops..At first glance the restraunts all seem to do similar menu's but some are better than others...Cia cia was by far the best..Doing fantastic fresh seafood and the views over the bay at night are lovely...The bus stop is just outside the hotel and for a couple of Euro's Porto Morgan is a lovely picturesque traditional harbour town...Puerto rico is a twenty minute walk away on a lovely walk around the cove..That wasn't for me as its far too commercialised and is like a different place to Amadores but if you are going,go in the afternoon when the timeshare touts have gone home... Positives... Very clean Nice pool and bar good views on the balcony Short distance to a fantastic beach and restraunts offering fresh seafood cia cia recommended.. Short hop to puerto morgan (avoid Friday, its market day who all seem to sell knock off designer handbags and its packed) Negatives The British being British can lack class at times, not saying that in a snobby way just basic manners ie Shouting and swearing from balconies to there family's below.. If you fancy a day round the pool you will need to get up with the lark to reserve one.. You couldn't cook much of a meal on two hobs and a microwave if you cant afford to go out at night... Tips..... They set the fridge high and remove the knob but you can turn it up with your fingers... Try and get the top level, only 2 flights and views lovely... Take anadins as nowhere seems to sell them on resort... If your going to purto rico you will be told you've won the star prize by a timeshare tout..everybody does don't be fooled..lolMore
Average base hotel, lacks some basic amenities
We stayed here for 2 weeks in a one bedroom twin self catering apartment The beds were comfortable and the rooms cleaned 5 days a week. They have 2 rings to use to cook and a microwave. There was no kettle, slightly disappointing but we managed with a pan and it boiled fairly quickly, there was a toaster which was OK. There was no hairdryer in the room so I had to hire one at a cost of €5 per week and also I was required to leave €10 deposit which was refunded at the end of the holiday. Again a bit disappointing. There is no free WiFi you have to pay. Disappointing. We stayed in one of the ground floor apartments which meant the balcony was spacious however it meant that other residents walk right by so not overly private. Some less than pleasant holiday makers felt it appropriate to stand outside our balcony and shout up to their family members demanding inflatables be thrown down to them. Not really anything to do with the hotel but a reflection on the clientele visiting The pools looked clean and tidy but flanked with screaming children and sunbeds reserved with towels from 8am. Don't expect to relax around the pool It was a good base hotel, we were out most days for most of the day. I wouldn't stay here if I'd planned spending all the holiday within hotel. There is a pool bar which served food and drinks, happy hour was all day with 2 for one drinks. They do a bbq twice a week for €11 which was nice. There was entertainment nearly every night, we didn't go but it seemed popular with kareoke, bingo and a quiz. It is 5 minute walk to Amadores beach which is beautiful and 30-40 mins walk to puerto rico centre, there is a regular bus service to Puerto rico if you don't fancy the walk with a stop a minute away from the hotel. We got a bus here to Maspalomas which cost about €3.50 eachMore
