Sea views don’t come much better than at this clifftop hotel – and the pool is a great place to enjoy them.
Sea views come as standard at this clifftop hotel, and there’s a courtesy bus to the beach if you don’t fancy the 30-minute walk. There are some shops, bars and restaurants a little nearer as well.
The hotel has two main pools. On top of the buffet restaurant, there’s two themed options that tick off Asian, Canarian and grilled cuisine between them.

2nd visit as special as the first.
We first stayed at this hotel in may 2015 after renewing our wedding vows in may and the hubby's birthday the day after. We absolutely loved it. We even went back to the room to find a birthday card and fruit bouquet from the management. We loved it that much we returned in July 2016 with our friends. The food at the hotel is fantastic fresh and varied. The hotel is wonderfully clean and has some highly dedicated and friendly staff. Perfect location with free beach buses and both bus routes and regular ferries to Puerto Mogan, Puerto Rico, amalfi, and other resorts. There were families with children, couples old and young. This place seems to have captured my heart and we will return whenever we are able. There is nothing negative to be said about this place, absolute value for money and a great place to make wonderful memories.More
Booked this hotel last minute and did not regret it. From the friendly cheeky welcome to the continuous good service in the reception area to the wonderful views and good food we had a fabulous week away. All inclusive offer on drinks too was good but could suggest the hotel finds some better wine! Easy access to the rest of the island from here by bus or taxi as well as the free bus to Amadores beach makes this good hotel to stay in. You can walk to Puerto Rico along the coastal path too. I am sure that the current refurbishment will only enhance the hotel - summer 2017 - only marked the rooms as average as they were old fashioned in style when I visited. Look forward to returning.More
hotel and staff very good and helpful ,we stayed in jan this year.
the only thing wrong with this hotel was ,up on the terrace you ate your breakfast where all the smokers were ,there should be a separate part for them.as we had to move all the time to get away from the smoke,so ending up eating indoors, and as the weather was good ,we like to eat out side some times.hope this changes ,when the refurb is done,as other wise a lovely hotel.More
Bit dissapointed in my first stay at a Riu Hotel.
The ClubHotel Riu Vistamar is located on a cliff top overlooking Amadores beach, all rooms overlooking the sea with lovely views. The downside of this is unless you catch the courtesy bus down to Amadores, its a hell of a trek down windy roads and a lot worse getting back up so if you walk down, at least get the bus back unless your trying to exercise that breakfast off. To get to Puerto Rico, you can get the bus down to the beach and walk along scenic pedestrian route along the sea front (nice views 20min walk) or take a back way up to the Puerto Azul hotel and down lots and lots of Steps. There is a shopping centre about a 10min walk from the hotel with a few bars and restaurants so your not completely isolated. Rooms were pretty spacious, clean but a little dated but perfectly acceptable. Pool areas were nice but very busy at times. I did like the fact that at the pool bar and the entertainment bar, you could serve yourself with beer or wine rather than queue at the bar. The restaurant had a good choice of food but not the tastiest, The night time entertainment really let this place down, there just didn't seem any atmosphere and no attempt by the hotel to create one despite a really good choice of all inclusive spirits. Will probably go to Puerto Rico again but not at this hotel.More
Very good personel, top entertainment, good food.
We stayed at Vistamar a few weeks ago and have to say it was an allround perfect experience. All the personel were extremely nice, very flexible and friendly, during our entire stay. They all seemed to speak a very good English. The entertainment at night was nothing short of spectacular, very professional! What a fantastic team of animators! The food was great and exactly varied enough so you wouldn't get bored by it. I have experienced something at hotel Side Prenses in Turkey that surpassed it, but the food at Vistamar was great too, no complaints. Although we had a fantastic stay and definitely would recommend this hotel to others, there are a few details that you should know about. 1) The rooms were out-dated and there were a few problems in the bathroom, but we also understood that they were exactly closing down the hotel for 3 months, after we left, to renovate all the rooms. I think it only really matters when you enter the room and see it for the first time. The rooms were functional and everything was working, so we were fine with them. Anyway, we only used them for sleeping. 2) The elevators were acting a bit funny and I was very suspicious of them. Once I got stuck for a minute at one level, until it decided to go to another level that I didn't push a button for. Hopefully that will be fixed with the renovation. Besides that the elevators have a nice information display, with the weather forecast and a few other things. 3) The drinks at the bar near the pool seems have much less alcohol than those in the bar at the entertainment hall. This also makes good sense, but just something to know. We were a little confused about this, as we both normally easily get a bit dizzy from just a glass of wine, but at the pool, nothing touched us. We were later touched very much, because of this difference :D Tips: *Big info touch screen near the reception. *Free bus to the beach every half an hour, except for a break in the middle of the day. *Busses to Puerto de Mogan are cheap, it's a nice place to go shopping and you can go for a really nice trip with submarine there. *If you really want to go shopping, go to Playa Del Inglés (Yumbo is a big shopping center). We loved our stay very much! Thanks to all of the staff of Vistamar that made our vacation so great! :-)More
