Set in pretty gardens, the Dunas Suites And Villas Resort offers up a trio of pools and lots of activities. Plus, it’s just 15 minutes’ walk to the beach.
The Dunas Suites and Villas has the look of a traditional Gran Canarian village – thanks to the terracotta-tinted bungalows and huge gardens filled with fountains, mosaics and tropical plants.
Maspalomas’ three-kilometre-long beach, along with a selection of shops and bars, is a 15-minute stroll away. If you don’t fancy the walk, the hotel provides a complimentary bus to take you there and back.

Great location, lots of sun & lovely hotel!
We stayed at the Dunas Bungalows for a week as a family for the second week of Easter. This was listed as a 3* plus on the First Choice website but I would say it is a comfortable 4*. I will list what we consider the important things for a family holiday: Before I start please note that this complex is firmly pitched at French guests. I will elaborate! Location: 30min coach from the airport. 10-15 min walk to the amazing dunes and beach. 2 min walk to main road and bus routes to all around the island. 15 min bus to Aqualand water park (â¬4 return) Accommodation: we had a bungalow for 3. Two x single beds with our son on a roll out bed in the front room. Lovely little patio attached. Good aircon, room service every day with fresh towels, stove, shower and bath, small clothes line. Hotel grounds: immaculate grounds that are cleaned every morning. Lots of palm trees give it a tropical feel. Hotel foyer also modern and immaculate. Pools: 4 pools. 1 large pool with 3 smaller quieter pools spread out amongst the grounds. All immaculately clean. The smaller pools are the quiet ones ideal for relaxing. Kids love the larger pool which has entertainment and aerobics daily (delivered by and in French only). There are snack bars and table tennis and pool tables by the two larger pools. Entertainment: Daily kids activities ranging from pool games, football, water polo and karaoke, again delivered by the French reps to the French children. At times this was borderline exclusion of the Brit, Swede and other nationality children. Not the hotels fault probably something that Thomson should mention - "we don't have any reps at this complex". Evening entertainment again mainly pitched at the French speakers. Late night disco and singers most nights. Very low key but that's what we wanted to be honest. The beach: The best part of this holiday for us! Its a pleasant walk to a beautiful blue flag beach with golden sand and clear warm water. There is a good couple of miles of beach area and not at all over crowded. If you have kids beware the nudist area (signposted with warnings). Maspalomas promenade is again lovely with lots of restaurants and a few bars. Lots of designer shops to part with your hard earned money. Great running routes along the promenade if that's your thing. Food: all inclusive buffet set up. Really can't fault the food. Fresh, well presented and lots of it. Lots of grilled fish, cold meats and deserts for the kids. We never had to queue for a meal all week which is great as some nationalities frankly just don't grasp queuing etiquette. So to summarise Maspalomas is a beautiful location with a great beach. The complex is spot on for the money, staff very friendly and the whole place is presented very well. A thoroughly enjoyable family holiday.More
Amazing! We'll be coming back
We stayed all inclusive here in February. They didn't disappoint! Different continental food each day, the most polite staff I've ever come across. They couldn't do enough to make sure you was happy! The villa was cleaned every day & was completely spotless. There was a shop outside the hotel for any toiletries you may have forgotten. Short walk to the beach and dunes. Reception were really kind in ordering taxes for us. For some boat trips you were picked up from outside the hotel! There's loads to do for kids also, entertainment was great in an evening. Even saw a chap giving scuba diving lessons for kids and swimming lessons!! Everything about this holiday was amazing and me and boyfriend had an amazing time. We're going back next year we loved it that much. If you're in two minds, Id say GO!!!More
My husband and I took our two daughters here (2 & 6) and loved it. The hotel was clean and comfortable and we loved the bungalow feel of the hotel.... no need to use lifts. The gardens were great for the kids to play in and the pools were great.... lots of choice with both heated and non heated. Beach was a short walk away with no traffic nearby. Our 6 year old loved the kids club and mini disco and the staff (entertainment and housekeeping especially) were great. The food was also really good. Really lovely friendly atmosphere and we would definitely return to this hotelMore
Fantastic all inclusive week away with friends, room was spacious, comfy beds we were in one of the horse shoe rooms near the pool which brought a down point for us as the walkway goes over head and can get noisy. Food was very impressive a wide variety and of good standard big plus point. Staff were friendly and approachable the cleaners work tirelessly and it shows. A nice 20 minute walk to the bars and restaurants, we will defiantly be back.More

Lovely Place for a relaxing holiday
Just had a great 10 day holiday over Easter with my wife and our 7 year old twins. Stayed half board in a Villa. Sandwiched between 2 of the smaller pools at the back of the complex, a 3 min walk from the main pool and restaurant so had the option of joining in all of the action or going to one of the quieter pools. Some pools were heated which was an added bonus. Food was great, different themed nights. Beautiful grounds that were kept immaculate. All the staff from maids to reception were excellent and very friendly. 15 min walk to Maspalomas beach or use the free bus. Lovely bar called "Taste Bar" near reception. Excellent variety of drinks on offer and friendly owners. Would highly recommend this complex for a family holiday with kids of all ages. More
