The Seaside Grand Hotel Residencia is part of the prestigious Leading Hotels of the World collection. It’s set in tropical gardens, and has a state-of-the-art spa and a fine dining restaurant.
This hotel has been styled like a Mediterranean village, with rows of whitewashed, terracotta-roofed buildings. The grounds are really tropical – palm trees and potted plants decorate the pathways, and balconies are cloaked in bougainvillea.
This is the only hotel in Gran Canaria that belongs to the Leading Hotels of the World collection. It’s got a top spa, interiors dreamt up by French designer, Alberto Pinto, and a restaurant that made it into the 2016 Michelin Guide.

Paradise is showing cracks
As frequent repeat guests over many years, last month's visit was disappointing in respect of dining in the evenings. We were aware of the difficulty in getting a table on the Terrace at about 8pm when we visited last September, but this was even worse in May. If you want a table you need to join the rush at 6.30pm when guests queue for the restaurant opening. Despite the hotel management saying they cannot seat all guests on the Terrace (obviously) I am quite sure that better management and service would ease the problem somewhat. The hotel was not at full capacity when we were there, so the situation can only get worse in high season. It is such a shame because in all other respects the hotel is excellent. The reviewer, 'Foolontherhill 2005' in November 2016 commented that it is best to eat outwith the hotel, and regrettably, I have to agree. The downgrading on Service is due to the Restaurant.More
Wonderful and wunderbar!
No neon lights, no grand driveway ,no flags or fanfare, just a glorious wall of flowering shrubbery, a marble staircase up to a discreet sign which tells you are entering one of the leading hotels in the world. The reception area exudes understated elegance and is beautifully furnished, it's cool, calm and very classy. A first impression that really impresses. The rooms are similarly fitted to a very high standard, everywhere is immaculately clean and ordered. It gets better, a lovely terrace extension on the restaurant allows open air dining all day, overlooking a swimming pool and a host of comfortable sun beds. And better... the staff are simply wonderful in every respect, they deliver an outstanding service with easy charm and professionalism. And still better... gorgeous food cooked to order at breakfast time and to Masterchef / Michelin standard in the evenings plus a plentiful barbecue twice a week. Could it get even better? Yes! BBC and ITV stations on your bedroom TV, free WiFi and a morning paper delivered to your door before breakfast. So when this hotel claims it's five star rating, my review supports a claim for six. The other guests are principally German and Dutch, many have returned year on year, the owners are also German which explains a lot. Dress standards and decorum are high and the hotel is all the better for that. There are German words for truly outstanding (ausgezeichnet and verzutlich) but wonderful and wunderbar is a fully merited title.More
'Grand' in all respects
One of the very best hotels in which we have been privileged to stay. It enjoys a quiet location but within easy reach of local attractions. The staff are superb - attentive, efficient, professional, friendly with impressive attention to detail. Obviously well led and managed by a very visible senior management team. The accommodation, gardens, food and facilities are all equally 'grand'. A truly first class not to be missed experience.More

An excellent hotel
A welcoming hotel offering first class accommodation. There was everything needed to provide a wonderful relaxed holiday and the staff were able to provide anything you wished for. Cleanliness, food, accommodation, location, service were all of an exceptional standard. Many clients have been staying several times a year and for many years. A real gem.More
