Great Location but disappointing.
This is a large 4 Star Hotel right on the sea in Maspalomas. There is no Hotel in the area which is closer to the sea. A large upmarket entrance and reception greets you, with staff throughout the property, being friendly and vey efficient. There are Terrace and Pool bars serving all beverages at selected times. Food is also available at two locations again at selected dining times. It is advertised on some sights as " not suitable for children" and others state "Adults only". There were some children which personally were not a problem for us, but we did experience one couple complaining. So something to remember. Two Boutiques and a Hair Salon are on site. We upgraded to a deluxe room with side beach view towards the sand dunes. The view was ok, but we found the room a little small, with the occasional smell of fried food on our balcony, as some restaurants are just below. A large marble bathroom is provided, with toilet, bath/shower. A basic TV and minibar are also within the room. One annoying factor that is so often seen is having booked a Double room you would expect a Double bed as opposed to two beds pushed together. The food was another big disappointment for us. We paid for half board but by Day 3 we decided to eat out at an extra expense. The breakfasts were very reasonable, and Buffet style, continental, cooked, fruit and cereals were all plentiful and of a high quality. But buffet again each evening was not for us with the food on offer being repeated each day. Quite disappointing. The bar and terrace are very nice, prices are a little high as expected. Evening cabaret style entertainment was on every night with a distinct German theme, which is present throughout the hotel. I should point out that this was no cheap week away with our reservation, so we were expecting more from the accommodation and food at â¬2000+ for one week. So just to reiterate the good's and bad's. Great Location Excellent Staff Nice bar and terrace areas. Nice breakfast. Good size pool & jacuzzi. Expensive Reservation Disappointing room size & dowdy decor. Lunch & Evening Food menu really far from perfect. Overall we would return, but definitely room only or just breakfast. Prices are 5 âï¸but cuisine only just coming in Low 4 âï¸â¹ï¸ More
Keep it simple
This hotel keeps things simple. The staff are pleasant without being fawning. The food does not strain to achieve gourmet standards but is perfectly acceptable. The pool and the gym are fine for the number of guests. The location is in its way idyllic. The guests are EEC rather than BREXIT. The entertainment is not the finest but then you don't need to watch it. The weather and the beach are excellent.....so a good place to goMore
Overall we enjoyed our stay at IFA Faro and would most likely return in the future. On the plus side our room was good and kept clean by Phepa. Variety of food was excellent no complaints there. If I had to be critical the evenings entertainment was pretty dire. As was events during the day. Having said that location excellent and overall experience good. I would recommend to friends.More
Holiday at IFA Faro hotel, Maspalomas
We really enjoyed our holiday at IFA Faro hotel, Maspalomas, Gran Canaria. The hotel is just at the back of the beach with direct entry through the hotel garden gates. Our room was a superior room facing the sea and pool and had a nice balcony with lounger and chairs. The staff are friendly and helpful and understand English quite well. The food at breakfast and evening meal is good and there is a fair variety. The evening entertainment is mostly quite good. This is basically a hotel for adults, no kids clubs and we enjoyed our time and will hope to return.More
I really recommend this place. It's new and beautiful. The food is good and they offer a huge variety. The rooms are quite big and clean. The hotel is located next to the sea and a very nice promenade, where we sometimes had a drink. I would definitely go there again.More
