This palatial hotel puts you right by the beach. It also comes with four massive pools and lots of fantastic places to eat.
This place is more like a big palace than a hotel. Four huge pools wind their way through the gardens, where you’ll also find four poolside snack bars and four tennis courts. The grounds lead right onto a sandy beach.
The hotel has a big choice of restaurants, with the star turn being the gourmet place. There’s regular live entertainment, too, while pampering comes courtesy of the luxury spa.

When people say this hotel is huge they are not exaggerating! We were fairly horrified when we first arrived - there are even barriers to assist with queuing at check-in! The other thing we first noticed is the average age of the clientele- this is not a young persons place. That said, once we got over the initial shock and navigated our way around we quickly realised that this was in fact a very well run hotel with very good service, friendly helpful staff and immaculately and discretely maintained public areas. Breakfast was a bit of a bun fight but if you go to the smaller if the two restaurants (relatively speaking of course) it was quieter. We were also fairly unimpressed with the snacks available for a light bite at lunch in the poolside bars- although they were cheap they were uninspiring. Otherwise there is the option of more formal restaurants which offer far nicer food but at a higher price. Alternatively, you can very easily nip out to the boulevard below where there are other eating options like Maximilian's. In fact the god send for this place is its location - with easy access to other bars and restaurants- though note the gates are locked at midnight on the dot leading to a longish walk back to the main entrance. In conclusion, it seems most hotels in Gran Canaria are big. Boutique hotels don't appear to be an option. If you want some winter sun and don't mind a 'cruise ship' feel this is s good hotel. There is the option to escape to the boulevard which is a major bonus. Lots of restaurant options and bars-cafe del bar being our fave- a cool vibe and younger clientele. More
Best stay in a Beach resort Hotel
Beautiful hotel. Personal very friendly. Wunderful gardens with many pools. The room was clean. Restaurant and food on the top. Nothing wrong, Everything perfect. i recommande this very nice place highlyMore
This is a wonderful hotel and, although it is the largest hotel we have ever stayed in, we soon adjusted and spent a very relaxing week. I had read other reviews before booking and the palm trees were not a problem and I do think they would be beneficial in the summer heat. There were sun loungers in abundance and beautiful areas to spend a few hours relaxing. The restaurants can be busy at certain times and to counteract any feeling of a 'canteen' (which is a rather extreme comment) just opt for a table outside. The food was of an excellent quality and quantity and, bearing in mind the amount of guests to cater for, I think the chefs do an absolutely marvellous job and I looked forward every day to the dining experience. We did not find the queues for tables a problem and were very well looked after by the hard-working and yet friendly waiting staff. Many thanks also to Marta (one of the lovely, professional and yet friendly receptionists) who checked us in but kindly moved us the next day to a more suitable room for our requirements. Yes you do have to pay extra if you wish to use the room safe but to my knowledge this is the norm in the majority of hotels. The cleanliness of the room was of a very high standard as was the whole hotel. The standard of entertainment was also very good and varied. It was a bit chilly in the evening so advisable to take a warm wrap or jacket as this takes place outdoors. The large infinity swimming is stunning but unheated - I am sure it would be just right in the summer months. Location of hotel as mentioned by other reviewers is just perfect. In fact we were happy to stay in Meloneras for the week without venturing to other parts of Gran Canaria In summary, a lovely hotel in a super location (visit the upmarket shops!) and don't be put off by the size. The hotel runs superbly and is a must for a return visit.More

LOVELY HOTEL BUT TOO MANY PALM TREES
Really loved this hotel which is very well managed and has fantastic staff - didn't come across anyone who wasn't really pleasant and helpful. The hotel is really clean and well looked after throughout. Food is great and buffet dining rooms have spacious and attractive outside eating areas. Only reason I haven't given 5 stars is because there is too much shade in the grounds and you often struggle to get in the sunshine (which is why we go to the Canaries!). The grounds are lush and beautiful and there is no shortage of sun beds around the pools and on the grassy areas. However someone needs to make a tough decision to get rid of some of the palm trees. I love trees and nature but do not want to fight for a sunny spot when on holiday. Hopefully something iwill be done about this as many other reviews have mentioned and eventually it would put me and other people off visiting this otherwise fantastic hotel..More
