Sunny Stag break...
Although we were a stag group (I was the groom), we were slightly older than your normal group...wanting a chilled out time with some sun and fun in the evenings. The hotel was excellent, rooms clean and the pool areas excellent - I would advise you use the top one if you want a deeper pool and less kids. The snacks and drinks were in abundance and good quality and all staff were friendly and helpful. Our whole group were very impressed and will be considering going back with our families. Good location...about a 15 min walk to the beach but only 4 Euros by taxi to pretty much anywhere. Thank you for a great 3 night stay ! More
Thoroughly enjoyable stay with good variety of food, friendly efficient staff and clean room. Found nothing to fault at the hotel and met all our needs. Appreciate people have different expectations for the hotels they stay in but feel most would have difficulty in finding fault with hotel if our experience anything to go by.More
I had read mixed reviews about this hotel, so was a little anxious about our stay. We stayed in the apartment block which did on first glance look slightly more dated than the main hotel block and there was construction work being carried out at the time, but this did not cause any inconvenience. The room had everything we needed for having a young child, eg fridge, cooking rings (which we used to sterilise bottles), microwave and a spacious balcony which our little boy liked to play with his toy trucks. The sofa bed wasn't the most comfortable but I've slept on worse. The main problem at bed time was the noise, I cannot stress enough how much noise we heard from other visitors and doors slamming, I was tearing my hair out for the first 2-3 nights! The walls are paper thin, not helped by inconsiderate people next door to us who wanted the whole island to hear what they were saying. The air-con and wifi were fine, which I had read in a lot of reviews that people had complaints about. Maybe people expect the air-con to blow a gale of cold air like in their car, but we thought it was enough. Now the food, I love my grub, I was very anxious about wether the food would be good. One thing for sure I did not go hungry, i always found enough to eat, although eating times seemed like a battle and could be a stressful experience most of the time. I have experienced this at most hotels I've stayed in so its nothing new. I've got to say that the price of a small bottle of water at the restaurant was daylight robbery, €2.50 would get me 10 litres of water at the supermarket so we chose not to but many drinks here. My young son is a fussy eater so we struggled to feed him, but can't blame the chefs for this. One thing about the dinner I didn't like was the eating time slots which we were asked to pick between an earlier slot of 18:30 -20:00 and 20:15-22:00. On holiday I do not want to be planning my day around dinner. Our days vary in activities so would be good if we could come and go as we please. Using the sun loungers and swimming pools- as we were normally up early and sometimes went to beach we rarely had issues getting a spot by the pool, but I noticed that many peoples did have a problem. The lifeguards did try to keep an eye on beds which had towels but weren't occupied, but I feel that there weren't enough for the size of the hotel. Now for a major complaint, this is a holiday spoiler for my 9 year old daughter, no balls or inflatable toys are allowed in either of the two pools. It may seem like I'm overreacting, but for this reason alone I will not stay at this hotel again. I understand health and safety but I think this excuse is used as a cop out sometimes. I suggest that the lifeguard should be on duty to watch the pool, not be the sun lounger police/dish collector. This is hotel policy and I am not blaming the lifeguards, but it is absolutely ridiculous! It needs to change now. As a family with a young child using a pram, we found it difficult to get around some parts of the hotel grounds. The lifts were so slow that we ended up bumping the pram up and down steps most of the time. I'm sure wheelchair users have had the same problem. Narrow pathways and ill mannered guests made this even more difficult. 99% of the staff are amazing, especially the restaurant staff who work with great urgency and still manage to be be pleasant and always had time to say hello to my young son (who made a terrible mess a lot of the time :). The receptionists in the apartment block were friendly and experienced. I don't know the names of the entertainers but the main one in particular had great energy and seemed to enjoy what he was doing, the others not so much in my opinion. The staff who maintained the grounds/gardens do a brilliant job. Our room was cleaned perfectly everyday also. The location of the hotel was about a 20 minute walk to the beach and the busiest part of town, but our family enjoy walking so it wasn't a problem. There are supermarkets very close by which we used regularly, as we were half board and found the snacks at the poolside bar very overpriced so we used the supermarkets and restaurants close by. I'm sure there are things that I've forgot to mention, but I'll summarise by saying that we generally enjoyed our time at this hotel. More
