Its wasnt soo bad ... Honest review!
Stayed at this hotel as 4 adults and 2 children - aged 9 & 2.. Upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised as to how nice the lobby area was. The check in took a little longer than expected, but no need to complain as such. We were given rooms in Block D, and as we walked in we were happy with what we had been given. Plenty of wardrobe space and hangers! bathroom was as expected and there was a safe in the wardrobe. Nice clean modern hotel. Food was good and there is plenty of choice, however there's not much variation, they do have meat / fish etc. and a paella night, but it can be very samey sometimes. Snack bar by the pool was okay, warm at best, but the grilled meat was nice so I'd recommend going for this, or eating in the restaurant at lunch. We did eat out on a couple of occasions, but this was due to days out of the hotel. Drinks were okay, and didn't find we queued - but the drinks were not strong what so ever. In the evenings - you need to ask for them to be made strong! and the bartenders will make them stronger. Entertainment - well, for the kids it was fine, and when this was finished they had a movie on downstairs and an area with XBOX, WII & Playstation which we thought was great! Our kids didn't use the game console area due to age, but they did love the Disney movies being shown, and there is popcorn available for 2euros just outside the entrance to the entertainment hall. But - that's where it ends. Adult entertainment was shocking - I mean, the team do try and there are some hard workers... but seriously, its not very good I have to say. We went back to the room and played cards on the balcony and put the kids to bed, not a problem for us, but if you want late nights with great entertainment, then this isn't the one for you. Daytime entertainment is good, stuff going on in the pool, aqua zumba etc. water polo, kids club, darts, shooting etc.. All seemed okay. Had a small arcade area, and the kids pool / splash area was fun for the 2 year old also. Sunbeds- Now yes people did get up early and make a huge run to the beds when they were allowed in at 8 o'clock, but not once did we participate in this and we seemed to get beds! I think these people wanted ' their spots' as such, but for us, we got up around 9 and found beds on our way to breakfast. Location was great, short stroll to the beach with shops and restaurants along the way.... Lovely beach, had to go down stairs to reach, but was okay - even with a buggy. Great restaurant as you come out of the hotel and turn left, as you approach the cross road its just on the corner on the left - really good food there. All in all, we had a great holiday and cant really complain about anything majorly. Staff were polite, and no real faults.More

Entertainment, what entertainment?
Me and my boyfriend visited wakiki hotel and stopped for 10 nights. Firstly the good points: Adults only area, you can always get a sun bed in this area and there is a lovely jacuzzi/ relaxation area. Nice cocktail menu Rooms spacious for a couple, can't imagine how a family of 4 would fit in the room. Bad points Even though rooms appear clean at first glance, there are ants crawling everywhere you look and the bathroom floor isn't kept as clean as it could be, I'm sure they mop with dirty water from other rooms. Food, there is a lot of choice however there isn't much variation between nights, we got bored after 2 days, the bar restaurant serves the same each day for lunch such as burgers and pizza. Staff some are rude, one bartender almost threw a drink onto the counter at me, and left before I could finish my order, he was rude when I asked for a other drink and said 'lady please hurry' (the bar wasn't particularly busy) Now for the worst part, the entertainment if you call it that. The staff that do the daily entertainment like darts do the evening entertainment, it consists of awful miming to songs and pretending to play different instruments. One act was a woman prancing round the stage as if it was a child's play. The website advertises professional entertainment twice a week, we did not see this. In fact we only spent 10 mins a night watching it as we couldn't stand it. This made our nights drag and we ended up playing cards on our balcony. Trips, I can only pray you don't choose to do the Las palmas sights and shopping, there were no sights except a bunch of graffiti on the wall, the tour guide talked none stop all the way there and all the way back about nothing, 'and to the right is the hospital and to left is a beautiful red house.' it was comical. I was excepting souvenir shops, instead we went in shops like primark, which I could have done in England. Overall if you want a relaxing holiday and don't mind sunbathing all day then this holiday would suit you. If you like entertainment at night and shops near by then I would suggest avoiding this hotel. More

Not too bad I guess ,Thomson (TUI) poor
Flight was delayed with tui with no explanation which meant we lost a night of our holiday The reception area is ok clean the distance to all the shops and the beach is really good I like this stretch as we stayed in the apartments down the road last year So we arrived late the check in was ok the lady on the desk was nice but didn't really explain much she said that they had put on food for us which was good , we get to the room and we had the pool view superior room not nun different to your standard room apart from tea and coffee and kettle of which they don't give you a bath robe which you out don't use as its mega thick and wafer thin slippers then room is a standard size quite tight bathroom and as you walk in for two there are lifts to each floor which is good Firstly the pool well you never get a lounger as people reserve these and wait from 7am for these and put towels on and don't even sit on them all day even thought the hotel stays you can't reserve these you never get a chance and they could do with more, there isn't a lot of toilets once your out of your room at all which means going back to your room all the time this got annoying There is an adult area with a pool which is nice hard to get in though and adults still took children there The food isn't that good same all the time and bland we got fed up really easily the cocktails aren't that good but the other drinks are these are ok these are served till midnight The activities and entertainment is poor nothing much on at all and all you end up doing is drinking and trying to entertain yourself , people stay up way past when the bar is closed and it is well noisy till early hours due to having the pool view where the pool bar is , there are two bars the pool bar and The one down stairs , the downstairs area needs updating and isn't that good but that's where all the children and families go and at night way too noisy and crowded They do shuttle buses to the beach and maspalomas only a couple a day The reps aren't really that interested but are here every day , we booked a trip to the old town and las palmas shopping for £60 this was poor and the rep wasn't that bothered they also kept on leaving letters as they said we didn't go to welcome meeting which we did There is a small shop on sight very expensive and some pool tables and areas for children not that good , it seems it's just more catered for children even though there isn't a lot on I would say for what we paid not that good for the price when you have two hotels at either side which look more better The staff are really nice and the rooms and every where is clean they try very hard all of them you get a bottle of water a day in your room We paid well over 1000 for 2 and for what we paid not happy Check out is way too early we are checking out now at 10:30 and we have all day More
Stayed here for 2 weeks and all in all this is a great hotel. Lovely food. Friendly staff. Spotlessly clean. Lots for kids to do. The one and only thing that spoilt this holiday was the race for a sunbed on a morning! I mean literally.. this is THE WORST I've ever experienced. Ever! The first morning we got up at 8:20am and came downstairs with a towel to find every single sunbed reserved with towels.. it stated on the signs that this is not allowed but they don't do anything about it. We had to sit on the edge of the pool all day so our children could play in the pool and eventually we got a sunbed later in the day when some people left, the sunbeds are very close together & there are not enough to accommodate all the guests. The following morning we set the alarm (I know! ) to be there at 8am for when the pool 'opens' and were shocked to see around 30 people gathered round the steps at EACH entrance to the pool, also people sat on the walls of the sun terrace outside the snack bar (ready to jump off) ready with towels. However we stood and waited with them and could not believe it when someone shouted 'go!' And grown adults ran to race each other for a sunbed !! Guests in neighbouring hotels were filming it from their balconies!! (1 min 42seconds apparently and all sunbeds were reserved!) Very concerning to watch, someone is going to get hurt here one day from it. A lady was actually nudged out of the way one morning and actually fell over, luckily she wasn't hurt but no one helped her!!!! It was considered more important to get a sunbed as people knew if they didn't keep moving they wouldn't get one!!! Actually pushing each other to get there first, it was unbelievable to watch!! People jumping from walls!! This is because all the ones at the front near the poolside get taken first as parents understandably want to be able to relax while watching their small children in the pool, and the sunbeds at the very back are too far away to see the children, also one side of the pool (near the bar) gets sun all morning until around 4pm, and the other side is in the shade then the other side gets it 4pm onwards. So what some were doing was reserving 2-3 beds on one side and 2-3 beds on the opposite side, so they were able to move round the pool !!! One day in particular I was only able to get 2 beds for 6 of us and there were 2 beds in front of us reserved and the people never came near the pool all day!! We went for a shower at 6:30pm and the towels were STILL sat there. Very very frustrating!!! The entertainment team are very good and friendly and I must say they work very hard! Rooms are fine and beds comfy, cleaned 6 days a week. Hairdryer in room, soap, shampoo & shower gel provided. The adult only area with the jacuzzi is absolutely lovely. Kids splash park fabulous. Overall this place is fabulous but the sunbed problem spoils the whole holiday experience completely, you should not have to set an alarm on holiday just to make sure you are able to enjoy a day at the pool on a sunbed ! However I can not fault anything else, everything else is perfect.More
