Arrived back last night from a lovely week at this hotel. The staff are friendly and are always willing to please. The room was great (824) and had kettle and tea/coffee although no milk or powder is provided but there is a coffee machine down in the entertainment area where you can get small pots of milk. The large balcony got the sun early in the morning. As has been mentioned this hotel seems to be favoured by the Germans who are not quite like us ðWe found the best sun loungers to be directly out of the restaurant and near the second set of steps into the pool bar....early morning sun and good till late afternoon however you have to be up early to bag these.....I was getting down at 07:15 and most had already gone ! The food can be a bit samey but we always managed to find something and the pool bar does great snack through the day. The entertainment staff do a great job throughout the day trying to keep people happy. The evening shows are standard stuff and mostly ok but do get a tadge boring..... Overall a great holiday, very nice hotel and pool and great area to explore, if we see a deal here in the future we will not hesitate to return.More
A lot of positives, couple of negatives
We spent a week here as a young couple at the end of March. We booked only about 6 weeks in advance and got a great deal which included a superior room. Positives We were all inclusive and I was really impressed with the level of drink choices. You didn't have to pay extra for cocktails and even though most of the cocktails were pre-made, they were delicious. You could also have unlimited Cava which was a bonus. The beer and wine are from taps but tasted nice. There was food available from 7am until 9.45pm. If the restaurant wasn't opened, the snack bar was so you were never hungry. Lots of choice food wise although it was the same things most night - pasta, some sort of meat dish, rice, chips, salad, soup. The snack bar has burgers, hot dogs or pizza each day. Breakfast is the best meal of the day with eggs many different ways, pancakes, cold meats, cheeses, fruit, full English, croissants, Spanish tortilla, yoghurt, cereal, toast. I'd recommend sitting in the conservatory which is a bit quieter than the main restaurant. The rooms were spacious and clean with housekeeping every day except a Tuesday. We had a bigger balcony because we had a superior room but didn't use it as much as I would have liked because it didn't really get the sun. Ask for a room high up in block B or C with a pool view and you should be able to use your balcony for most of the day. The safe is free to use. Location is great. Only a 10 min walk to the beach and there is a free shuttle bus if you want to use it. Yumbo shopping is only a 10 min walk away as well and there's lots of pubs and restaurants nearby. We did go out to Papi's Grill for a steak one night and it was fantastic. Definitely recommend. There is an adult area with a Jacuzzi and we sat in this area most of the time. There is also a main pool and separate kids pool. Plenty of sunbeds but the usual problem with people leaving their towels and disappearing for hours. It was fine for us because we were there in March but I imagine this would be a real problem in the busy summer months. The hotel really should do something about this and stop people claiming sunbeds at 7am which they don't then use until lunch time. Lots of games going on during the day and my boyfriend participated in the shooting each morning. The staff announce the games but they're not pushy if you don't want to play. Negatives The meat - perhaps not unexpected but the meat isn't great quality. Quite tasteless and chewy and the fish is full of bones. If the hotel wants to be a 4 star then it should look into improving this aspect of the food. The evening entertainment - I'm sorry to say that this was terrible. There's meant to be a theme each night but really it's the same thing - the staff miming and dancing to songs. I felt bad for the staff because they're probably very talented and obviously work hard but whoever decides on the entertainment needs to think again. They'd be better off having the staff put on a dance show or actually have them singing. We found it funny the first night because it was so bizarre but after that we usually played pool and had an early night. You can go out to pubs etc but having paid for al inclusive we weren't keen on spending a lot of money. This is the big let down for the hotel and I really hope it's looked at because it's the same negative that's noted in most of the reviews. We were there to have a chilled out week with lots of sleep and rest but we were still disappointed the entertainment was so poor. All in all this is a really good 3 star hotel and we had a very relaxing week.More
The MOST wonderful staff at Waikiki
After many trips and All-inc holidays, this is my first review - purely inspired by the staff at this hotel. The hotel itself is a very good value break, an excellent 3 star hotel. As mentioned the most impressive assets are the hard working staff that worked tirelessly to make guests welcome from reception to catering, from housekeeping to entertainment it really shows at this hotel and I would return in a heartbeat.More
Just arrived back after a week here with the family. Check in was fine & painless & we were given 2 adjoining rooms which was good. Rooms were clean & bright with excellent showers though air con would have been an issue if it had been really hot as they barely worked. If you want a god spot for sunbathing get up early as its a race with the Germans to get the towels down. Plenty of parasols around though to keep the sun off. Eating is where I feel this hotel lets itself down Very much the same chewy meats & other items up day & night with a "free for all" style buffet layout which creates a bit of a squeeze to get around tables etc Its not helped by arrogant Germans who don't appear to grasp the word queue & the hotel is full of them. Also when you check out ensure you do it early to both get your luggage put in a secure room as its only big enough for about 6 cases or else it has to be left with all the others in the reception area, & also to book the "courtesy room" which is just a small toilet or else like us that were leaving late afternoon ended up getting changed in one of the hotel toiletsMore
Good family all inclusive
If you are looking for an all-inclusive family holiday and this hotel is within your budget you cannot go far wrong. The food is overall good. However, It is a very similar food choice every day. The layout of the restaurant is not the best. This is because it is a funny shape so it makes moving around difficult. At busy times it becomes a bit of a rat race but it is manageable. Drinks all seemed to be decent quality and self-service so no big ques! There was no bottled water. So I would advise bringing water bottles so you can fill them up at the vending machines if you go out for the day. The hotel room was clean and had a balcony. There was no fridge and no water or mini bar in the room. The pool areas are also good. There is the main big pool, children's pool and an adults only area. There are plenty of sunbeds but they get reserved very early which can be a pain. At different parts of the day areas of the main pool become shaded as well. We never reserved any beds and always managed to find some. The best area was around the kid's pool. This area gets sun all day and we always managed to get beds there. The hotel does not provide towels for the pool. There is a lot going on around the hotel. They have a kids club, adult entertainment team, gym and children's play area. I'm not a massive fan of evening entertainment but it seemed like the usual standard you get at hotels. The location is not bad and is only a 10-minute walk to the beach. There are plenty of shopping centres close by. As well as restaurants and bars if you fancy venturing out. There is a bus stop if you turn left when you come out of the hotel. Here you can catch buses to the waterpark and other locations. There is also a taxi rank and all prices are on a board to the popular places. The hotel also runs a free bus service to the beach and Maspalomas. I didn't use this service. Overall the hotel is good. If you are looking for an all inclusive family holiday it ticks all the right boxes.More
