This adults-only hotel gives you a peaceful pool scene and a beach on the doorstep. And the food’s first class, too.
This stylish hotel is tucked at the foot of a mountain, just metres from sandy Playa Taurito Beach. Its two pools come with first-class sea views. There’s a seafront restaurant, too.
In the evenings, live acts take to the stage, or you can retreat to the piano bar for a quiet cocktail. When you feel like going further afield, there’s a shuttle bus to pretty Puerto Mogan, which is less than five minutes away.

NOT a Platinum hotel, sorry Thomson!
This review does have a few positives further down, but because we went pre-refurbishment the negatives outweigh them quite a lot, so we’ll start there! We usually always book holidays from normal Thomson or First Choice brochures, and choose 4-stars, and they have ALWAYS been of a very high standard, with beautiful grounds and accommodation, and we have always thoroughly enjoyed them. This time however, we booked a 4-plus star rated hotel from the Platinum brochure, and so we were looking forward to something even better. We were unfortunately very disappointed. When we arrived at the hotel, the main reception seemed lovely, and the check in was great. However, upon entering our room it was far from a 4-plus star rating, and definitely not what we were expecting of a Platinum hotel? We would class it as a 3-star at best, as it was NOWHERE NEAR the quality of our usual 4-star hotels. The rooms, although very large, were of a VERY, VERY poor standard, and on the first night we hardly slept due to noise from the disco immediately below us. We were moved to another room the following day, but again, the standard and quality was way below what we had expected of a Platinum hotel. (Cracked walls, cracked tiles, gaps in the floor, mildew in the bathroom, tarnished taps and shower heads, outdated and tatty furniture etc) Outside was not much better, as the grounds upon which this hotel is situated are very small. The sun loungers were virtually on top of each other, with no alternative choice of where to put them as they were not movable, and even if they were, the grounds were far too small to be able to move them anyway. There was no way to get away from other guests and relax properly, as we have on our past holidays, which all had far more extensive and beautifully manicured gardens. We would not have booked this hotel had we known what the quality and size was, and would have chosen somewhere else instead. Had we booked it as a 3-star hotel, and only paid £800, then we would have thought, ‘Oh well, you get what you pay for’, and chalked it up to experience, but when we had paid a lot more, and booked it thinking it was a 4-plus Platinum hotel, we feel we were very misled. We do not hold the hotel itself responsible, as it is what it is, and they are going to be refurbishing it, and may have possibly already finished, but, for Thomson / First Choice to advertise it as a Platinum 4-plus star was, in our opinion, false advertising. Even after any refurbishments, we feel it should not be in any Platinum brochure, or a 4-plus, as the grounds are just too small, but maybe the upgrade will justify it? When we went however, no chance! On a plus point, we found, as we always do, that the staff were very friendly and did their best to rectify any issues that they could, but most of what disappointed us, they could do nothing about due to the nature of the problems. The food was perfectly adequate, but no more, not as good as other hotels we have visited on other holidays. Lots of fish dishes, so be prepared for that. The drinks were pretty good, and a good choice. Beer, wine (including Cava) and branded soft drinks are on tap to help yourself, both in the restaurant and the bars, plus plenty of cocktails and alcoholic coffees to choose from. The piano bar was a lovely relaxing way to spend the evenings. The hotel also offers an upgrade to a premium drinks package, with bath robes, slippers, wifi, room safe etc, but this is a VERY expensive option, and certainly not worth it!! Some rooms include it, but most don’t. And if you have booked as a Platinum hotel, this is something that should be standard we feel.More
Amazing holiday so relaxing!
Sorry it's a bit late! My partner and I decided to go away on our own without our daughter. Loved pretty much everything about this place. We arrived late at night but they were expecting us and had dinner waiting! They opened the restaurant just for us! So relaxing, lovely pool and the views are beautiful. Only thing I could moan about if I'm being fussy is that you can hear the screams of children at the water park hotel in the distance. Apart from that it was the most relaxing holiday I have ever had. We have never been to an adult only and felt very spoilt! Free champagne and a live singer as you relax in the shade on the terrace or in the pool. Bliss! Different themes going on each day, the guests really are thought about. The room was a good size and plenty of choice of food. The area is really lovely to and just a 5 min taxi ride will take you into a lovely little town and beach. Don't know what other people have complained about but I would definitely come back here again. More
Terrible hotel, don't go.
Me and my husband stayed here for a week and my god that was enough. The staff are rude, one woman actually laughed on the phone AT me when I rang reception. The food is close to inedible. The floor near our bed was always covered in bugs and nothing was done about it. I would save your money and pick somewhere else. More
We've just came back for another visit as our Honeymoon, and also my birthday!! I have just read the reviews with interest, and have to say in the Hotel's defense, that, if you presented a genuine complaint, this had always, in our opinion, been dealt with swiftly and sympathetically..We had a fantastic two weeks ther, tried The Romantic Meal, which was lovely, and can't wait to return! Yes, the entertainment can be a bit tame, but considering the Hotel caters for all ages and all nationalities, I think they do a good job..The Disco and Animation Team are happy to oblige if you have requests and so we managed to have a great time in a great mix of company throughout our stay..The hotel is being refurbished and I believe Management are striving to also improve the WIFI (which is adequate) and TV (which would be nice). I'm pretty sure any WIFI signal may present a problem with the sheer volume of people who seem to be constantly on it, which to be fair, makes you wonder why they bother to go on holiday at all...lol If you are seeking an action packed club holiday, then this is maybe not the place for you, although there are lots of trips and activities on the beach, parascending, jet skis. etc..But if you are looking to chill by the pool, or beach, relax in fantastic weather, then you'll not be disappointed..Ps, Regards a previous comment on Fire Drills and Health and Safety, if you go to the Thomson Briefing on your arrival, you are lead through the basic Safety and Fire Procedures and we did have an actual Fire Drill while we were there..We personally believe, that for the money, and through prior experience, we have paid a lot more for less..Save us a Sunbed, we will be back very soon!! :DMore
First visit to Taurito
We have just returned from our holiday at Suite Princess, after reading reviews before we got there we were looking forward to our holiday and we were not disappointed. I do have to agree with some previous comments/reviews about decor, yes it is dated but once refurb is complete it should make a big difference. The whole hotel is spotlessly clean. The staff were polite, friendly and very helpful. OUR ROOM, again was dated and I would say the only negatives about it were the beds, they were twin beds that moved very easily with wobbly legs and the balcony had paint chips over it as it flaked off from the balcony above but it was cleaned daily. Cannot fault maid service, room cleaned daily with fresh towels. THE FOOD was very good, as we have stayed at all inclusive before we knew what to expect.... it was of a good standard and plenty to choose from. Never had any issues with it being under cooked or cold. (Hubby loved the deserts) THE AREA If you want lots to do locally this is not the place to go, apart from the parade of shops a few minutes walk away and a basic water park unless you pay for excursions then there isn't much to do except enjoy the sun, food and drink. We went into Mogan for the market on the Friday, very very busy, if you like holiday tat then it's good bit after first dozen stalls the other few hundred are the same stuff! ENTERTAINMENT This was very good most nights, piano lounge had a guy who had a good voice and played/sang for the whole evening, didn't know the words but was fun. The 'show' that was on in the opposite bar was good and a few nights were fab.. Really can't complain about it. Now although there are signs about asking people not to reserve sun longers they are still out there at stupid o'clock piling towels onto 'the best spots' but to be honest there are so many loungers you won't have trouble finding one. (The ones nearest the wall get the sun for the longest time) Now at this point I have to say that we met some very nice people and we are by no means youngsters (46 & 51) but we did feel like some of the youngest there. I would say the average age is probably 60 so this is definitely not a place for the young who love the night life. For us the upgrade wasn't worth it as drinking isn't a big factor for us so local spirits were fine but having to pay for beach towels if you wanted clean ones was not what we have had to do at other AI Although you dont ho ob holiday to watch TV if you had a couple of days of rain then it helps, the TV has sky news and BBC world news. No additional English channels but loads of channels for Germany and Dutch people. If you go down to beach or shops both a few minutes walk away be careful on the stairs/slope as it isn't lit up at night and can be a bit dangerous as you can judge stairs and slope is very steep. Finally if you want peace, quiet and relaxation then this place could be for you. Any questions please ask😎More
