Welcoming and relaxing hotel
Just back from one week in this hotel (5th-12th March) and really enjoyed it. The staff were all attentive and happy to help. Rooms are a bit dated, but they were cleaned every day and towels changed if needed. There was a good selection of food at meal times and plenty of fruit as well. The entertainment was not to our taste, but some folks seemed to enjoy it, so each to their own. All inclusive was good and you served yourself for water, beer, juice and wine, with staff on hand to serve other drinks. The pools are a good size, with Jaccuzzi's nearby as well. There is plenty of space around the complex and we always found sunbeds easilyavailable. The hotel is at the top of a steep hill, but plenty of taxi's available and a shuttle bus to take to to and from the beach. You can also go into the main shopping centre for about 6 Euros, which we did one night and had a lovely meal there.More
Great short break
Stopped for 5 nights from 21st to 26th February. Was not sure what to expect on arrival but met by a very pleasant reception where we were quickly and professionally checked in. Everything was explained and he even took time to make our 8 year old feel part of the process. Room was clean and tidy if a little dated and the walking wardrobe a great asset as it gave you loads of extra space. Typical hotel noise as concrete walls with tile coverings transfer noise, but it is not the hotels fault if guests don't keep it quiet. That said very peacefully later in the evening. Food was good, freshly cooked eggs in a morning a bonus and the Asian section was always tasty. Plenty of fresh fruit and healthy options. We found the best spot on an evening if you wanted a quiet family drink was the snack bar area as it was staffed by people who cared about what they were doing, even telling off children who wanted to mess around with the coffee machines and soda dispensers. The walk to the beach was either by the road or 156 steps, but tbh it was not too hard and the route and beach well lit. The beach is gently sloping with good waves and ljfe guards. Would go back around the same time of year, not sure about during the summer as without air-conditioning in the rooms I think they would be too hot. More
Let me begin by telling every reader of this review that my wife and I are no youngsters, this review will be an honest opinion reflecting what all ages can expect. The hotel is located approx 30 minutes away from the airport on the edge of San Augustin, walking into the town will take about 20 minutes down hill but coming back is all uphill and probably best taking the bus or taxi costing 3euros. Unfortunately the hotel is a little secluded and very little else in close walking distance, San Augustin does have few restaurants and a beach area, small shopping centre and hospital. Onto the hotel review, first impression does not give anyone a true picture of whats inside, the reception area is staffed by friendly very efficient staff who understand that travelers want to get to their rooms as quickly as possible. Accommodation is in separate blocks aptly named for ease, all reasonably close for all amenities, we were given a very spacious room adequately furnished, clean and comfortable worth a mention that the television programs cater for all nationalities we found 5 English stations 2 news 2 film and 1 kids. Worth taking an extension lead and travel adapter as sockets are a little sparce. The main restaurant is very close to the reception and the main bar area, just outside the restaurant is a smoking area and seating which I must say is not big enough for the amount of people, a couple of small shops are also in this area. First glance at the grass areas put any fears of not enough sunbeds away as they are every where and we found no problems at all, towels can be rented for a small deposit and exchanged again for a small charge. There are 3 swimming pools and the main pool as slides which are staffed, 2 jacuzzi are also in constant use.The views from the pool area across to San Augustin and in the distance the sands of Maspalomas can be seen. At the pool area there is a snack bar area where lunch is available also afternoon cakes etc drinks are by self service in plastic cups for safety. Right then, onto the main things we go on holiday for..... Food, excellent choices, well cooked but obviously cannot speak for all diets but we found no problems and a very good time table for when you want to eat, again drinks are self service and although staff do their very best at busy times tables can be a little difficult to find and you will have to get your own cutlery, we found staff very helpful in every other way. Next door is the the bar and evening entertainment area, again seating is not adequate and at first I had doubts about whether the bar could deal with the amount of people but it does with a cheerful barman whos brilliant at his job, later he is supported by additional staff when entertainment start at around 9.30 after the kids disco. The entertainment staff are probably the best we have seen in a long time, they work constantly through the day and night with professionalism, this is a must see you will be genuinely shocked at the shows, very good is an understatement! What do we comment on next? Would this place be ok for people who need wheel chairs etc, yes it would paths are everywhere to allow wheel chair use. Cleaning staff were very good. Tips... take your own coffee if you like your own brand, there are no tea or coffee making facilities in rooms. There is no air conditioning which could make it very hot in the summer months. Also on site is self service launderette and doctors surgery. Hope fully any fears about this wonderful 3 star hotel have been quashed, it really deserves 3 star plus, thank you to the reception staff and everyone else we encountered, we would have no hesitation in returning. Thank you to everyone and a real special mention to our travel advisor who does all our hard work finding our hoildays every year, Julie Birch you are wonderful and anyone can use your services by using google to find your contact details, or please ask me questions through Trip advisor, Have a lovely holiday folks and hope you find my review helpful.More
This hotel is nothing like the photo put on by Jet2 as it looked like it wasn't far from the beach but it was at the top of a very large hill not really suited for anyone in a wheel chair or the old or infirm as you need to be very fit to climb back up that hill. Even to get around at the hotel it did have ramps to the pool and bar but still quite steep. Most of the entertainment is really for children. The food most of the time was cold unless you got there when first put out and the meat was always tough will not be going back thereMore
We stayed from 25 Feb to 11 march. Lovely time. Reception staff were great. Room was clean and cleaning staff were nice. Restaurant staff were very efficient but the only one who was happy and pleasant was Alexander(always smiling). I am a vegetarian and was disappointed with the salad selection of food which contained meat but was not detailed on the meal descriptions. We sat outside one evening after our meal with a plate of olives and a bit of bread, a waitress came out and said no food only drinks outside and took the food away! I found her rather rude. I also think the management should try and stop the annoying people outside the hotel bothering guests with the touting More

Just so you know, there are restrictions for the waterslides here. Little ones must be a minimum of 1.20m in height and be able to swim.
