We traveled as a family of 4 with our 2 children aged 6&3...Having seen prev reviews we were some what a little worried about our trip here... how wrong were we to be worried, having prev visited 2 Thomson family life hotels for 2 years running we were pleasantly surprised with how chilled and laid back this hotel was, no rush for the buffet restaurant so queuing for the last slice of pizza, just nice relaxed meal times, excellent! Now some pros and cons..... Pros, Lovely basic 3* hotel, quick check in at reception, basic food but enough options to have a bit of everything to choose from & nice to not have 101 options to choose from for a change, shops restaurants & beach a 10 min walk to past the taxi rank & down towards the sea, clean & tidy rooms.. I had emailed ahead to ask for a refurbished room they said i would have to wait & see when we arrived, but sure enough we had a lovely room 730 overlooking the pool & in the shade from 3pm ish so no fear of the room getting too hot of an evening. Easy to get a sunbed & only one pool was open during our stay as the other one is getting refurbished, parasols are fixed to the ground so choose sunbeds around them if you want shade or there are lots of palm trees you can go under when it gets too hot.Lots of shops & restarants in Puerto del Carmen, make sure you try to haggle, Be careful on the beach we spotted broken glass bottles on a couple of occasions on the sand so be careful of little ones feet especially. Good hairdryer in rooms. Animation team were fab especially Marguiche- full of energy! Breakfast is served from 7.30am with eggs, bacon, pancakes, churros, croissants etc Pool bar snacks of toasties, pizza, hot dogs etc is from 12-1pm Lunch is from 1pm with salads, pasta, breads etc Dinner from 6.30pm with lots to choose from Nudist solarium is on the roof of the main building. We had a lovely meal at the old town overlooking the harbor so i definitely recommend that, also definitely visit the Rancho Texas park - Amazing! Rooms always v clean, & even when we needed new bed sheets on a day the maids were off, we still had one pop in and change a bed for us. Antonio on the bar & restaurant is lovely & likes a joke! Cons.... Our room didn't lock from the inside the door was dodgy, but we didn't take it up with the hotel, our safe in our room was dodgy & took anything from 10-20 attempts to lock/unlock it with our code! very frustrating, the door to the balcony had a loose lock, it was just like a window lock, my husband tightened it with a butter knife! lots of cats everywhere, they seem friendly but beware my son was stroking one then it tried to bite him, the are very food orientated and when it realized we didn't have food it went to bite him, luckily the skin didn't break, but they are all vaccinated etc anyways. Very hard sofa bed to sleep on, 2 fold up beds would've been more comfortable! Water is supplied by water butt machines, not very cold at times, and says not to fill bottles up at them which is annoying as no water in your rooms unless you take a cup each from the bar to bed with you, i think they need to give complimentary bottles of water in your rooms for your stay this would be so much better and therefore we wouldn't have to buy water at the shop. Not many cons at all, this is a lovely 3* hotel we would definitely recommend & return again.More
Animacion Team fab
Fabulous week in Lanzarote, hotel clean, staff friendly, food ok, good selection of drinks, highlight was the entertainment crew needs the credit, Alex, Maria, Sara and Maguiche (hope I've got you all!), they did a wonderful job with the kids with a variety of activities much of which were pool side so you could either take part or just lounge back and watchMore
Great value for money but ....
We booked this hotel via Thompson on a amazing deal for 8 of us , myself and 3 daughters mum sister and her 2 children . After reading the reviews and the money we had paid our expectations were not high but we was happy to make it what it was . Upon arrival check in did take some time we were allocated rooms on the top floor we had two toddlers in our party so these were not ideal having to lug our cases (all women group) plus pushchairs up and down the stairs daily but we were told there was no lower floor rooms available this should really be a priority to people with young children . We were self catering but ate in the restaurant one evening after a long a tiring day , the food was ok a good variety for everyone but after eating this for a week I could see it would get unappealing, we also ate at the pool bar food again was ok and a good price . We got a taxi from the back of the hotel most days in to central Puerto de carmen loads of very good restaurants to eat from there . The rooms are basic with everything you need recently re decorated to a good standard channel 912 Disney channel for people with children . I managed to cook a basic breakfast on the hot plates in the room , the hot water only lasts so long so be first in the shower or be prepared for a cold one . On the day before our last we asked for a late check out room as we didn't get picked up from the hotel till 18.30 and having the toddlers needed a room for them to rest before our flight . We was told to ask the day before for availability we was told there was no rooms available so had to be out of our rooms at 12 , this proved to be a very long day just hanging around in the heat and felt we could have at least been offered a comfort room for a few hours at least . I wouldn't go back to the morromar due to some of the issues we had but it was a ok cheap trip !! More

A bit out of the way but worth a visit
We arrived here late at night from 18th to 28th may 2017, just in time to get the first influx of kids for whitsun!! On arrival the outside wasn't appealing at all let alone the reception. the following morning in the daylight it was much better. This complex of rooms stands about 15 mins from a smallish quality centre of bars and restaurants and the beach and then maybe 50 mins walk/7 mins drive (Eu 4.50 daytime and Eu7 at night by taxi) from the main centre of del carmen. We shared our spending between the square and the main centre. All of the food from both was excellent (No fast food involved). Back to the hotel, the rooms are of a good size, don't know about the other room's views as we had no view from 720. Our bedroom had 2 single beds joined together which was ok. Unfortunately, and this is a big one, the pillows were like sleeping on sand bags, I had to keep tossing and turning to avoid earache. The kitchen /dining area is ample with a balcony outside. The kitchen comes with all the usual cutlery, toaster, kettle, crockery and pots and pans.My girlfriend had a gripe about there not being a power socket near the mirror to do her hair, no problem for me though. We were self catering but ate in the restaurant upstairs by the pool a few times. The prices were good for the beer and food and were both enjoyable. There 's no air conditioning and the pool is bitter cold but we would come back again when the kids aren't there.More

Animation team FAB
The animation team here were excellent,Sara,Maria alex and marguiche all excellent my daughter loved all the dancing with Sara and wanted to stay there longer, the sports activities were also very good.I preferred the animation team doing the evening entertainment to the other acts they had on but personal choice.Pool area nice rooms clean, not far from the beach and some shop and not to far to walk in to Playa Pocillos .The only down side was that we were told our all inclusive finished at 12 mid day and we were there till 7pm and as we did not arrive till 11pm on day of arrival we did not recieve the full 7 days all inclusive i paid for so i will be taking this up with thomson. The thomson rep was also not very helpful.Food not the best ot was ok but not a brilliant choice mexican night was the vest for us.Staff pleasant.I would tryt this hotel again mainly due to the animation teamMore
