Just got home this morning after 2 weeks in The Morromar. After reading various reviews some good and some bad I went with an open mind and the thought of "I'm going on holiday to have a good time, not pick fault with everything". Here's my totally honest review: Location: is great, well for us it was. Out of the back gate access there are steps down to a straight path aprox 5 mins to a shopping complex with bars, coffee shops, bike hire and the beach. Food and drinks: we were all inclusive and never went hungry because we aren't picky. There was a massive choice of food, salads, soup, meat and fish dishes, potatoes, chips, vegetables, pasta and rices, a great selection of breads and deserts and fruits. Breakfast was always full of choice too. Their were snacks at the poolside bar which weren't of an a la carte variety but were great for a snack. The drinks although may have been a lesser alcohol volume than at home are great in my opinion because my husband could have a drink but never got drunk. There was plenty to choose from and if you wanted could pay for any branded drinks. Rooms: we were originally given a renovated ground floor room which was very uncomfortably hot even with the hire of a fan. We requested a move to a higher floor room so we could have our windows open and this request was granted without any hesitation what so ever. The fan we hired wasn't great to be honest but hey ho it certainly wasn't something we were going to kick up a fuss about. The renovated rooms are spacious and clean and was more than big enough for our family. I took wipes to clean down surfaces if we used the kitchen but the cleaners were in 5 times a week and did a good job. Staff: I had noticed a lot of reviews saying restaurant staff were unhappy ect but I often find if you smile people tend to smile back. So we did and guess what they smiled back. The staff work very very hard and some are there for hours on end. But from all staff were helpful when we needed them and were always on the go. The entertainment staff deserve a special mention because they work so hard. There were a lot of English and Irish holidaymakers so maybe some shows spoken in English would be helpful. There was often a frenzy for people trying to get chairs on a night with you sometimes needing a babysitter for your chair in case it was seized before you got back. Some of the public areas need bringing up to the same standard as the renovated rooms but this may be in the process of being done. Areas such as the stage area and the downstairs bar area and upstairs bar area. Also please be aware that the pools don't open until 10 so anyone who likes to wake up early will have a good wait round . All in all a great family holiday that we all enjoyed. We'd go back. More
Myself, my partner and two kids aged (14,9) have just spent a pleasant week at The Morromar. We were lucky enough to have a room with a sea view and my little boy loved the fact he could see all the various types of aeroplanes coming in to land ( the noise was of no concern). Food was varied and there was always something tasty to eat. Drinks from the bar were also decent. We spent our time around the bottom pool during the day and if there was any bad points I'd have to comment on it would just be that there needs to be more sun beds and parasols here but that's my only gripe. Good... until you have any issues
Booked a studio apartment self catering. All was good upon arrival friday afternoon reception seemed friendly checked in and made my way to the room with 2 suitcases. 2 bags and my young child.Room was difficult to find even with the map and up some steps not too difficult for someone quite fit or with helping hands but surprised no help was offered, service matters although as a lower cost hotel wasn't too phased by this. Got into the room upon first glance clean and nicely decorated only to soon notice the lack of catering facilities. Went back to reception and politely explained this and was told quite rudely "all studios room only not self catering, only one bed self catering" of which I offered to show where it clearly states in my booking self catering and that was exactly why I chose Morromar for my holiday "tough speak to your booking agent if you have an issue". Thats exactly what I did onthebeach immediately agreed this wasn't acceptable and over next 24hours communicated with Morromar who originally said I'd have to pay €15 euros per day to upgrade, onthebeach said this wasn't acceptable but Morromar still wasn't budging and onthebeach offered to refund me upgrade costs. Saturday night went to reception to do just that they were clearly aware of the issue and I was surprised when I wasn't charged (may still do this when I leave). My son has a number of allergies and catering away from home is difficult enough in the UK let alone abroad. Yes this isn't their problem but is why I chose self catering and as result Saturday morning had to have his cereal in a plastic cup with plastic spoon (all I could find such short notice from local shops). Only other issue I've personally experienced was the lack of info on entertainment times I noticed these displayed on arrival just before the pool on the left after you exit reception but couldn't see these displayed in the morning or early evening (around 6pm after a day out) My son was looking forward to this and was very upset when other children got hats for attending the show and patiently waited for his but he wasn't allowed as didn't attend the show not the end of the world but not nice for him to feel left out and went back to our room crying. Rooms cleaned to a good standard, Wifi in room and safe are available at extra cost Wi-Fi seems to work pretty well can pay for this online from your device.Nice pools just be aware people do reserve deck chairs even though leaflet says not allowed. Shop on site is expensive but cheaper ones aren't far. Overall some good aspects but wouldn't stay again unless improvements to customer service were made can see why some give it good reviews just don't expect to feel welcome if you have any issues.More

Last minute lanza holiday.
We decided very late to have a summer sun holiday and decided lanzarote was the best destination. We booked the morromar as it was in the area we really wanted to stay. Taxi from the airport was only €11. Reception staff were really friendly and efficient. Frank was lovely to deal with. The layout of the complex was really nice. Done out in a 2 storey apartment arrangement with 2 upstairs and 2 downstairs. Our balcony looked out over the second pool which was lovelly at night. The main pool is right beside the pool bar and it was busy but never really over crowded. We went all inclusive and it turned out to be great and well worth the little bit extra. Food was to a high quality with a good variety that changed every day. The kids loved the buffet style of the food and drink. They loved getting our table and going to get the food and drinks for every meal. The complex was kept clean and to a high standard. The rooms were to the same high standard. The only thing that was not 100% with the room was our 4th bed. The fold out bed. It was ok but was missing wheels so it squeaked on the tiles when he moved. To address other reviews I read before booking. The staff in the restaurant were not interactive. But they do work very hard and long hours. The bar staff have a lot of customers to get through and did so quite expeditiously. David in the bar was a wonderful gentleman. 2 main issues for us was that the animacion team (entertainment) interacted more with Spanish people than English speaking Europeans. And the milk at breakfast was always warm so the kids would not eat cereals. We would definitely return to this wonderful hotel.More
