We spent 10 nights at this hotel and didn't want to leave. We loved everything about it from the room to the food to the staff etc. I could go on forever. My husband and I found it the most relaxing holiday ever and can't wait to go back. We went half board which suited us perfectly.More

Early summer getaway
Just sat in the lobby waiting for our coach pick up back to the airport, sadly our 7 days have been and gone. As usual with my reviews I will try and seperate the positive and negative although on this occasion I have to admit, the negatives are few. My wife and I have enjoyed the week here and wished for a few days more but alas work calls.. Firstly, adults only fabulous and a quiet very laid back feel. Don't get us wrong, we have kids and grandkids but it's nice to be able to get into an adult only environment when you choose. Service and staff at the Timanfaya Palace are second to none, all very friendly and professional and personal to a touch, Pepe the head man in the restaurant is brilliant, very friendly and runs a tight and efficient service. Our second to last night he presented us a free bottle of Cava at dinner, maybe small in financial terms but the personal touch is massive and all because in conversation with him we had mentioned it's our last full day and evening with them and how sad we were to be leaving.. The hotel is clean and very bright, it has a real openness which often lacks in bigger hotels. The Pool areas are impeccably clean with numerous and decent sun beds at your disposal, never once could we not place ourselves. They also run a strict no sunbed reservation policy prior to 0930 which helps stop the few inconsiderate individuals ruling the camp. The whole terraced area is so well spaced and laid out, many hotels have line after line of sunbeds with zero space between them, not here, 100% perfect. The pool bar area serve drinks and good food, we only snacked here once but it was good. We were half board and would stay on the same basis again (there will be an again too)! For us not being big drinkers and often being out during the day cannot see the value in an extra â¬80pppn for all inclusive. Lots of space, lots of light, lots of helpful staff all good. Food was very adequate and theamed every evening with some days being slightly better but this is just personal taste, never was there a time where you couldn't find something you like. Breakfast is good, fresh juices and smoothies all add to the positive experience. Even when busy did the dining area feel claustrophobic like some hotels we have been to, service again is very efficient and friendly. We loved the position of the hotel and made use of the promenade right out the back of the hotel you walk every evening into Playa Blanca, it takes about 25mins but is an easy level walk. Playa Blanca hosts many various shops and restaurants, we just wandered around culminating with a coffee etc in one of the many sea facing outlets. We hired a car for 4 days which we feel gave us the best opportunity to see the island without the cost of numerous arranged excursions and time constraints. Lanzarote is an easy island to navigate and even the most nervous driver would cope easily. For us here are the only negatives that if we're addressed would make it a 5* review... 1. Beds - we found them as hard as rock and did not have 1 good nights sleep, this was a surprise as I had read reviews saying how good the beds were, maybe bad luck on our part (room 132). 2. At dinner, it would be nice if there were jugs of iced water instead having to purchase bottles. This is done at breakfast and find it strange it doesn't follow for evening meals too. 3. A room safe is provided yet, they charge â¬2.40 per day, H10 surely you can supply this in with the holiday cost?! Niggles rather than negatives but with them addressed, for us would've made it perfect. A great hotel with great staff and in a great location, don't think you would be disappointed. We will be back for sure, thanks to all the great staff at the Timanfaya Palace. More
Fantasic Hotel, Lovely Location
Just returned from my second visit to this hotel (last stayed in May 2015) - just brilliant. We arrived to a glass of cava & food waiting for us in the restaurant (we arrived late evening) Our room was on the lower level, it was clean and a good size with two large beds (which were very comfortable), perfect as I was on holiday with my cousin. It has eveything you need and we were pleased to find a welcome of a bottle of wine & bottles of water. The food is great with an amazing choice, we kept finding new things to try. We went to the al a carte one evening and again found that the food was really good and the little touches made it special, loved the little chocolate cups filled with liqueur. We made use of the heated pool as the two large pools were too cold for us. The staff here are just fantastic everyone is smiling and happy and they are always happy to help. Being adults only also makes this hotel special - I will be booking again soon, lots of the people there were returning year after year which says a lot about this hotel. The manager Jose & not forgetting Eric really do have an open door policy and attend the welcome meetings to make sure everyone knows who they are and where you can find them if there is a problem. The entertainment was great some nights and ok others but you can't please everyone all the time, you could always go to the piano bar for alternative music etc. I felt the general atmosphere here was relaxed and easygoing just what you need when on holiday. This is the first Holiday hotel we have ever gone back to for another stay, partly because we are still exploring places but the Timanfaya has so much going for it and because I knew what to expect it was going to be a best choice for us. Thanks to ALL the staff for making this a great holiday.More
Just returned from a week staying at this hotel. We've stayed in Playa Blanca before but this is the first time at this hotel and won't be the last. At check in, we were welcomed with a glass of cava. When we arrived at our room there was a bottle of sparkling wine and two small bottles of water which was a nice touch. We paid for a room with a sea view which was wonderful. The room was spacious and clean with everything we needed. The staff throughout the hotel were very friendly and efficient and nothing was too much trouble for the. The food at breakfast and dinner was excellent. There was so much choice with the addition of freshly made omlettes and pancakes at breakfast and freshly cooked meats and fish for dinner. There is a rule that sunbeds cannot be reserved before 9.30am. This was monitored by the life guard with towels being removed as necessary. Therefore, there was no need to rush to the pool area to get a sunbed. The location of the hotel was the main reason initially for booking as my husband and I like walking. As you leave the hotel by the pool you can turn right and walk to the lighthouse or turn right and walk to the old harbour and then further on to Marina Rubicon. I can't wait for our next visit.More
Great stay at the Timanfaya Palace
A great stay at the Timanfaya Palace from the time we arrived to the time we left , the staff were exceptional always helpful and efficient, service with a smile from reception to the pool to the bar. Great pool area with plenty of beds to go around , the surrounding area was peaceful with a great beach with a few tavernas and shops , the main shopping is about a 20 min walk . The food in the buffet restaurant was excellent with plenty of choice even vegetarian dishes , at breakfast you must try the crepes which are freshly prepared, although at times it was busy there was plenty of tables with excellent service. The room we shared was directly in front of the pool with sea views with a spacious bathroom and two queen size beds which was cleaned daily and a fresh supply of towels provided. It was just a great relaxing week we had at the Timanfaya, we definitely will be returning hopefully at the end of the year. A big thank you to all the staff that work so hard in making sure we all have a pleasant stay.More
