After the long booking in process and the room not being ready until after 4pm once actually on the room it was a great stay not being all inclusive things from the bar were expensive Buffet food was awesome Beds were too comfortable More
Spotless, great entertainment and facilities, next door to the beach and Playa Blanca.
The hotel has a great location, being a short walk from Playa Blanca proper and a 5 minute walk to the great, clean (if small) Dorada beach. Playa Blanca village can be a little secluded and self-contained if you wish to see the rest of the island, though there are plenty of low cost tours and adequate public transport for this purpose, and the village itself has more than enough bars, shops and restaurants to keep one occupied. Reception was very efficient during check-in and check-out, transporting our bags to the room. The entertainment was great, with various acts/singing every evening, shooting, water polo and much more (all free) in addition to amusing daily poolside capers by the brilliant entertainer Jack. There are four pools (one solely for children), with one at the rear of the hotel which is quieter but easy to miss. The hotel is both family and couple oriented – busy yet not raucous. Staff in our all-inclusive Restaurant Papagayo were very on-the-ball and helpful; the lunchtime and dinner buffet food itself was varied frequently during our stay, offering dishes such as veal, swordfish and langoustines as well as standard options such as pasta and pizza. Breakfast (both cooked and cold) could be a little repetitive but was nevertheless more than adequate. The twin room was spotless, with a view actually far better than we expected. A ‘partial sea view’ was allocated, though the view from the balcony took in most of the sea and half of Playa Blanca as well, with an amazing backdrop of Fuerteventura. A brilliant, memorable trip – I would definitely return to this hotel.More

We booked HB but upon arriving decided on the upgrade to AI best decision we made. Wines, beers and spirits were great, weren't watered down like other places we had been. We paid for deluxe which was worth the extra. The Volcano Restaurant was fantastic, food was lovely. Meat cooked to order and pizzas made to your preference. Plenty other dishes to choose from. Traditional bacon as we know it at breakfast cooked as you waited. Entertainment in the evening was brilliant. Beatles tribute, mowtown. Acrobats, diva night. To name but a few. Deluxe rooms are lovely, maids cleaned every day. Fridge topped up with soft drinks, beer, water, sweets, crisps and nuts. Poolside deluxe has reserved area, nice comfy beds but I'm sure any others are just as good. Poolside bar great. Animation team so funny and friendly. Hotel staff lovely. Weather, well windy it was but when the sun came out you were thankful for the breeze! Will definitely return. More
A holiday to remember and an honest review
After an easy and pleasant journey (thanks to jet2) we arrived at Hotel Hesperia Playa Dorada on the evening of the 27th June and were greeted with a glass of champagne and a friendly welcome. Our check in was quick and simple as we were the only people arriving at that time. However, due to our late arrival it would have been appreciated if we were provided with the opportunity to eat that evening as we were all inclusive. Similarly, at times it was unclear what was expected of us i.e. signing for all drinks (even water!) which we found unnecessary being all inclusive guests. Having not payed for deluxe, we were surprised with the standard of our room, which we found to be spotless, spacious and modern. Partly thanks to the hard work of the cleaners who were always very accommodating and friendly during their daily clean. The only downfalls of our room were that the wifi did not work for the first couple of days of our stay but after reporting the issue to staff it was fixed swiftly and the air con was not as powerful as we expected for summer weather. Luckily the evenings were cool and breezy so this wasn't a major problem, we would actually recommend bringing a jacket for evenings out. During our 9 night stay, we made use of all of the pool areas. Being two 20 year olds, we preferred the main pool area as it was lively with music playing and entertainment intermittently throughout the day but there is something for everyone as the other area was peaceful and more suited to those looking for total relaxation. We cant say enough about the staff at the hotel as they were faultless and went the extra mile to make our stay special. All of the restaurant and bar staff were polite and prompt, with special mentions to Jose, Said, Dominick and Donzo who made the best cocktails (Playa Doradas became our go to drinks) and seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs, making their jokes and chats more like those of friends. David the lifeguard was approachable, always smiling and on hand to help if need be - what a great guy! Not forgetting the animation team particularly Jack, Lukas and Silke who livened up everyones days with activities (we especially enjoyed killer bingo and watching aqua gym). Being two reserved young females, it was refreshing to be encouraged to participate in the fun without feeling forced to join in. We cant speak highly enough of them, they are great assets to the hotel! Overall the evening entertainment was good, we enjoyed motown, diva night and the animation team's movie themed show in particular. The hotels location was ideal. Seconds from the beach with nothing but a pretty walkway separating it from the pool area. Within walking distance was also a shopping centre, marina, boutiques and many bars and restaurants. If you're looking for a night out, Wednesdays and Saturdays are the nights to go - we recommend Jungle, Waikiki and Magma. Overall a lovely hotel and amazing holiday. Hope to return soon! Thieves!!! Robbed my room of £400!
Firstly I would like to say how disappointed I am in the way the hotel didn't resolve or want to resolve the thief who stole £400 of my daughter's Pandora jewellery. The maid was the only person aloud in the room. BE VERY CAREFUL WITH VALUBLES..my friend daughter and I spent 2 weeks 29th June - 13th July and our experience was dredful. The maid wasn't cleaning the room instead she was stealing jewellery, ecig, and percribed cocodamol tablets from our room. BAD POINTS BELOW... The hotel is more a 3 star than a 4 star. Breakfast is good. Lunch very plain and basic. Evening meal awful. All food same every day. Staff very friendly but don't solve issues very quickly. Rooms very basic and in need of updating. NO KETTLE good job I take my own. No smoking in the room or on the balcony. Poolside not cleaned regular. Pool has mouldy marks inside. Dangerous small step into bathrooms and toilet which I fell a couple of times so be careful. Small room for 3 adults. Windy as hell. Maid did nothing in 2 weeks apart from steal from us. Not much night life for singles. GOOD POINTS BELOW... Lucas. Jack. Silca and the rest of the entertainment crew were fantastic. If it wasn't for them we would of hated the holiday so much. Hats off to these guys they do a fantastic job and deserve treating well they are great. Location is perfect for couples families and elderly. Freddie cathouse is wonderful. He deserves recognition for all the cats he cares for. Beach is gorgeous. Lanis steakhouse 100% for dining. Overall after our experience we wouldn't return to hesperia however we defiantly would return to the resort area as it's beautiful and picturesque. Although very windy. The hotel could be great if they got rid of the bad egg that's going to ruin their reputation. And if they changed a few things listed in my bad points. I have an ongoing investigation into the whereabouts of my daughter's jewellery valued at £400More
