We just love this apart Hotel. The apartments are wonderful, very clean and great facilities. This time we had a top apartment overlooking the sea and Fuertaventura. There is always a great rapport with people sitting around the pool and the evening entertainment is outstanding. The Staff are all on message and are always friendly and professional. We will be back here in October. Can't wait!More
Good Value Hotel with Excellent Staff
Myself and my wife stayed for a week early March. I requested a room at the back of the complex in advance of our stay which luckily was accommodated (room 540). The complex itself is on three separate levels so if you have mobility issues the lowest level rooms would be ideal. There is a chair lift from the first to second levels and a conventional lift from second to third (where the pool, snack bar and small outdoor gym are located). The whole complex is spotlessly clean with ample sunbeds around the pool and second level. Some people as usual thought it was ok to annex sunbeds. There's absolutely no need as the pool area is so open you can't fail to get the sun wherever you are (well not in March anyway, not sure about August). The reception isn't the largest and if you're checking in and on the odd occasion it does rain it might be a good idea just to announce you're arrival and wait by the outdoor area of the main bar which is covered. We had a safe for the week at â¬25.50 with a â¬10 deposit refunded at the end of our stay. Glass of fizz was also provided on check in which is a nice gesture. Reception staff were super helpful whenever we felt the need to ask anything. Our apartment was spotless, the beds firm (which we like) but the pillows were very thin though (asked for two more shortly after settling in and they were with us later that day). Spare bedding is available in the wardrobe should it get a bit cool. Apartment other than the bedroom had two sofas, flat screen tv (2 English speaking channels), fridge, 2 ring hob, small kettle and the usual utensils and crockery. Bathroom had a walk in shower, some complementary toiletries and a hair dryer. Again spotlessly clean. The apartment was cleaned six out of seven days and the sheets changed midweek. One of the maids even cleaned our dishes one day whilst we were out, really no need but very much appreciated and shows how dedicated they are. Restaurant has a bit of a café feel to it and the tables quite tightly packed in, though there are quite a few tables outside which feel a bit more spacious. Food was ample, hot and fresh. We had no trouble finding something different each evening. Breakfast selection more than ample for any taste. You do have to pay for drinks in the evening as none are provided but it shouldn't put to big a dent in your finances anyway. If you're used to recycling, which we are there are some recycling bins near the main reception. Perhaps the hotel staff should include this in the leaflet they hand to you when you check in. Location of the hotel isn't ideal if you're not particularly mobile as it's up a fairly steep bank. There is though a bus stop just around the corner and for just a euro it'll take you to and from the main strip of the resort and further afield if you want to explore Arrecife, Teguise (good market on Sunday), Costa Teguise and Playa Blanca. There's also a decent enough supermarket again just around the corner and down the bank a bit which we found more than good enough. Used the bar on two evenings and happy hour was 8 to 9 pm with two for one drinks (not the cocktails though). Entertainment provided every evening with the usual selection. Not really our sort of thing so we sat in the outdoor area adjacent. Overall we had a really enjoyable week and can only highly recommend the Gloria Izaro as a good value hotel with excellent staff (they couldn't do enough for you and deserve particular praise). I feel sure we'll return at some point in the future to Lanzarote and will have no hesitation staying here again.More
"Fantastic Winter Sun Holiday"
Spent a fabulous week here in early March 2017. From the moment we arrived we knew that we were going to enjoy ourselves. The staff were so welcoming, friendly and courtious - in fact they couldn't do enough for us ! The hotel and all of the facilities including the lovely swimming pool were absolutely spotless. The food was so good that we indulged ourselves at every meal and will now have to shed quite a few kilos before the Summer !! Highly recommend this hotel and congratulations to all the Staff.More
Personal and Professional
We stayed at the Gloria Izaro for a week in January 2017 and it was just perfect for the type of chilled winter sun break we wanted. The Izaro is more of 'boutique' style multi level complex with 'chalet' type apartments rather than your typical corporate high rise hotel. It is spotlessly clean both inside and out and every night you would see the staff washing down walls, floors, etc to keep it that way. The apartments are generously roomy with huge comfy beds and ours also had a kitchenette and living area. There is also a table and chairs outside of the apartments. Our room was clean daily and was spotless. The hotel had a fabulous chilled ambience, pleasingly with no children there when we went (probably due to the time of year) so we totally relaxed which was our main holiday aim. The pool, although not huge, was adequate and there were plenty of loungers available. The poolside bar was open throughout the day with a selection of drinks and snacks available. The clubhouse and restaurant, although small, were perfectly serviceable for the amount of people staying. There was a happy hour between 8-9 every night and most people made use of this to stock up their drink for the night's entertainment. The entertainment was varied but typical to other hotels. Pleasing though that it was provided for a 'smaller' hotel. The food option we had was half board and was by far the best 'buffet' option we have experienced in a hotel. Although not the biggest selection we've seen, the menu was rotated and varied enough to ensure you didn't get bored. The table staff were extremely friendly and attentive with drinks and nothing was too much trouble. The staff generally at the hotel were extremely professional and friendly. The office/reception staff helped us out with taxis, bus routes, directions etc and the animations/entertainments officer was extremely friendly and good fun without being annoying! ð We loved Lanzarote, and whilst it is commercialised and typically 'Brit friendly' down on the Puerto Del Carmen strip, it feels safe, friendly and was easily accessible which is pretty much the most important things to us on holiday. We would definitely recommend the old town market in PDC on a Friday - just a 10 minute walk from the hotel (don't bother with the Sunday market in Teguise as the local buses get full, its expensive in a taxi and the PDC market has pretty much the same stuff although it is smaller). We would definitely recommend the two shopping centres, the open air cinema and the Texas Ranch Wildlife Park. Loved the Izaro, loved Lanzarote and would definitely like to return one day. ð More
