WHEN TO GO
Tenerife enjoys virtually endless sunshine throughout the entire calendar year. Temperatures in the summer start off at 25°C and routinely rise into the 30s. Those in search of the highest temperatures can head over to the south and west, where the mercury readings are slightly higher than in the rest of the island. No matter how hot it gets though, there’s usually a cool breeze to make things more comfortable, due to the trade winds which bathe the island.

Health & Safety
You should take out comprehensive travel and medical insurance to cover you while you’re away. It’s also a good idea to get a European Health Insurance Card – or EHIC – before leaving Ireland. Though it’s not a substitute for travel insurance, it entitles you to emergency medical treatment on the same terms as Spanish nationals. It won’t, however, cover you for medical repatriation, ongoing medical treatment or non-urgent treatment. Passports and Visas
Irish citizens don’t need a visa to enter Spain but must have a valid passport. For the most up-to-date passport and visa info, visit https://www.dfa.ie/travel/travel-advice/a-z-list-of-countries/spain/
